Bad workmanship, smoking inside site once painting was done, flooding for months, fires lit outside, damaged joinery, animals on property harassed, trees on property damaged, un-level doors and handles, poor communication, lack of experience and no supervision.

Poor quality work, no supervision, masses of water being aloud to pool around home will probably result in cracked slab, no drainage at all after being told drainage would be done, best advice is to never go with DFH if you want a nice home built

Don't build with dennis family, you will regret it. Warranty means nothing to them. My stormwater pipe was completely squash and they refused to fix it even though i have proof it was happened during construction. It just because i found it out after handover, they put all the blamed on me and refused to fix it.

Don't work for Sean major hes unprofessional and constantly stuffs people around keep away from him.

Terrible build quality walls have lumps in them. Walls are not level squeaky floor wavy skirts. Evaporative cooling is very loud when on and vents for heater aswell terribly placed in ceiling. Can hear water running through pipes. No insulation in interior walls so you can hear everything.

If you want to disturb your future permanent neighbour and destroy your relationship with them before you move to your new house then ask Dennis Family to start building for you. Similar thing happened to me. I am the owner of a block of land in Berwick and Dennis Family is building next to my block. They have started driving trucks or very heavy vehicles through my nature strip, footpath, and my block and literally destroyed everything. Now they made it a permanent path for their vehicles which enters their construction site. My block pegs are gone and the block looks like a mud track. One of the footpath slab are pressed and the slab joints became uneven. 2 of the lawnmowers refused to do the job because of the destroyed surface and deep tires tracks. My builder asking for additional charges because of the missing pegs which indicate the boundary. I will take further action if the damage won't be fixed. This is very very frustrating and inconvenient with delays to my own house construction. Totally unprofessional people.

We have moved in for 4 months. No issue so far. Thank to Adam - sales counsultant, Greg - site manager and supporting team, our project was delivered up to our expectation. Everyone was very helpful, responsive and professional. Also our project was postponed for 2 years due to planning permit required, DFH kept our cost unchanged in a good faith.

Dennis family homes do not honour there warranty's. They have proven to provide poor quality and even worse when it comes to claim a warranty for a bench top which has cracked due to movement, they do not honour it.

I would never recommend building with this company at all. They have been a complete disaster from day one.

Bought the land from them, once late with settling, second time again late with settling.
Then comes time for construction, they don't like my garage door colour, or they say there is not "enough" of the second material used on the facade (they request at least two materials used at the front facade, the percentige not given.)
Or they say, I should be happy they haven't made me completely change my facade, because in my street there is two more ppl building the same. Why haven't I been told this 3 months earlier when deciding on the facade. AND how am I supposed to know who is building what in my street. I don't even know who my neighbours are! And all of that at the time the construction was supposed to start FINALY.
So, by the time I move into MY HOME, it's gonna be 3years since we bought the lot.
NEVER BUILDING AGAIN

Building the Marsden in a Melbourne eastern suburb with Dennis Family Homes has been a great experience. Construction timeline was as planned, the site manager was always approachable and managed the work professionally. Most importantly, for any issues we had post hand over, DFH would manage work orders efficiently and in a timely manner and got those issues fixed either through their own maintenance teams or their tradesmen network. They always responded appropriately; going with DFH means that you have eliminated your risk of facing an unresponsive builder.

Big company with that small company feeling to it. Still all family owned so they care about what they do.

Dennis claims to have excellent customer service and product, but my experience was shocking. Poor construction, no communication and lousy customer service. All I can say is I'm glad we had an independent building inspector to oversee the building and ensure rectification of all the problems during the construction. After hand over, Dennis refused to do a customer satisfaction survey probably because they knew what the response would be. Complaints about this company have fallen on deaf ears. They simply don't want to know.

Terrible after care service. My house was built 7 years ago. They "forgot" to connect my communications cables and just left them hanging outside house. Trying to get them to call me back or care now is proving impossible. They dont have a complaints department which I find ridiculous, they havent come to look or investigate my issue but instead just try to get me off phone asap. Going to dispute resolution but annoyed at their treatment and handling of whole situation. Avoid if you can.

Worst builder ever. My home is cracking my garage door will not open the doors don't close I can not use my water tank and all I he plaints died. This is all in less than one year! They don't care there is no customer service they treat women like idiots. I will not even be able to sell this house. I am taking this company to VCAT. They are all nice until they get your money.

VERY SLOW, Main motive is to hold customer-Very slow process sales consultant insisted us to give deposit by saying that tomorrow they have price rise and said our contract will take three months to be ready and now it's been four months and yesterday got call from the consultant that contract will take more three months and after contract site starting date will be after two months and alternative we can get our deposit fee back.woulnt recommend.initialy they take desposit from you and after that they do not do what they promised

Hi, we haven't started building as yet but so far our experience has been nothing but good service. The girls at the colour selection have been great as we had to go in 3 times because we weren't sure, no questions were asked and they have been really patient with us. I really there good service continues on. Also a thank you to our sales consultant Alice for being patient with us.

Great experience with Dennis Family Homes

It's now 12 months since handover on our Hartley. The build process was very smooth and our special requests were handled very professionally. Our site supervisor was always available and hands-on with the build. We were also able to communicate directly with sub contractors to make small variations on electrical and tiling. The after sales service has been excellent. Highly recommend Dennis Family in Melbourne.
