Dejour Jeans reviews
54Best place for high quality, fitted/altered jeans just for you! Nothing else like it. The team that work there are lovely and super helpful. Have been wearing Dejour for years now and will never wear another brand.
Really friendly staff. The jeans are holding up great and I like the fit. Went early on a week day and there wasn’t a line
I wanted to add this to counter a previous review. I've been to dejour a few times over the past 5 years and always had a good experience. Today I went in at 9.30 and we were the first customers, no wait and 3-4 really helpful assistants sorted us out in 20 mins. Left very happy with a pair of jeans and a skirt. I told the girl helping me I was 4 months pregnant and she couldn't have been more helpful with sizes and tailoring. Yes, they've moved some production to Vietnam but it's still excellent value and I really think if you want these local stores to stay open you need to use it or lose it.
Very friendly staff who gave honest advice about styling jeans with cowboy boots.
Proud to own two pairs of authentic melbournian jeans.
On our first visit to Devour Jeans, we were surprised at the size of the shop after hearing praise by a friend. It was smaller than expected, and they don't stock a range of brands, only their own brand. That being said, I bought two pairs of jeans at $65 each, with free alterations done on the spot, leaving with perfectly fitting jeans. And despite being very busy, the staff remained both helpful and friendly. We left very happy satisfied customers.
Great place for jeans! Bought a pair of jeans, had it tailored within one hour! Loving it! Will come buy again
If you’re a man, they don’t have as many colours and styles as before. I was there on a rainy Tuesday and still waited 45 mins due to the max 5 policy inside store. Service is quick, alteration was another 1 hour. I suggest restocking more choices for men because for the quality (my last pair is 7 years old!) and price it’s a good deal.
Disappointing service, I came all the way from Sydney to realter a pair of jeans I had barely worn. The staff member rudely turned me away saying the material had become "too thin. " She did not bother asking the boss a second time. Be warned, they realter jeans "for free" but only at their discretion.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! So you buy this jeans and the tell you, you can bring them back to get refit whenever. But the moment I bring them back for it they actually can’t do it because the fabric (fabric they sold me) is to thin. Will never buy here again
Went to another tailor and she had no problem taking in my jeans.
I can’t recommend this place more… love these guys (and thrilled they survived the lockdowns)
The range, fittings, colours, style, price and service are hard to beat.
TIP: They get busy on weekends so if you can get there during other times, you’ll be able to get hemmed pairs of jeans in ~30 mins. They also do the full range of alterations if you need other alterations.
During busy times, there’s plenty of things to see and eat along Sydney Road so you won’t be left twiddling your thumbs.
The best place in Melbourne to buy jeans, awesome service, reasonable prices and free alterations.
I only ever buy me jeans here.
Had an extremely disappointing experience today at Dejour; sad as had heard such great things and was excited to find my dream pair of jeans. Am newly pregnant and was hoping to find a flattering pair to fit, but after a couple of pairs was told in no uncertain terms ‘yeah we don’t cater for *that*’ after diplomatically suggesting I wanted a pair to grow into with a little more room around my mid-section.
Staff were sniping at one another whilst I was there and definitely had an air of me inconveniencing them. Sad, as this place has such potential - but unless you want to feel body shamed by inexperienced and rude sales staff I would steer clear. Customer service is not a priority, and although I appreciate the jeans are great value for the tailoring the attitude received was quite a shock.
I've been wearing the brand since 2015 and have never ever been disappointed!
Due to massive issues with Covid and border closures making it hard to come down from Sydney to get more I was getting very low on jeans. Dejour Jeans went above and beyond to help me and now I'm back to it with 5 new pairs!
Thanks heaps Team! Keen to eventually be down there on person to grab more.
Fantastic jeans, many different styles and sizes. I found a pair that fit like and dream and they’re SO comfy! Staff have a bit of a ‘too cool for school’ attitude but the seamstresses out the back are just gorgeous. They were laughing away the whole time I was there!
The only place that I have ever lined up outside to buy jeans.but totally worth it. Great customer service, great jeans
Very busy / popular, basic store. Not bad business, as the only way I found out about this place (I'm not local to the area) was a CBD major jeans retail staff member personally recommending.
Note: I went in early on a Friday & this store was chockers! Allow plenty of time if you visit. I'm guessing this store will be even busier on weekends (when open).
Jeans are good, basic quality for very affordable price. I think $60 is the 'standard'. Apparently free alterations, on-site. I think this has to be requested at the time of purchase (to be included).
Interesting point of note: I didn't find sizes matched with more commercial brands. I understand that different brands may feel different for the same sizes. I think Dejour jeans have their sizing completely wrong. I'm currently wearing Mavi (Just Jeans) size 32. They fit me perfectly. Other brands' versions of size 32 are a little different. I had to go up to size 35 in Dejour sizing. This is not a criticism, just an observation.
I have been planning to come to Dejour for over a year after hearing incredible things but I had such a disappointing experience in store today. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. I asked for help and received little response and the jeans were in the wrong places so I couldn't shop independently either. I may have gotten them on a bad day but the 'too cool' attitude seemed to come from every staff member except one who was working their hardest to attend to every customer as best they could (they were also the only one wearing a mask).
Best Jeans shop in Melbourne. The staff are really helpful and great to deal with. Prices are fantastic. They alter everything to your liking. Cannot say enough good things about them.
The service here was appalling! Waited in line for 30+ minutes. Three girls working and all three were rude and didn’t say one word to us - no customer service at all. They could sell so much more if they actually smiled and were helpful without a painful look on their faces! Tried to turn us away over an hour before closing time as well! Would not recommend - I felt judged and unwelcome. Pity because the jeans are actually nice.
I bought some jeans here recently that were at first nice but soon stretched out over the next two weeks, when I went back to alter them they were initially great in adjusting them for no additional fee.
Unfortunately the alteration performed by their reccomendation broke the structure of the jeans causing them to twist and be painful to wear.
The staff were polite and helpful in further altering the jeans but ultimately the jeans were no longer wearable and they business refused an exchange or refund.
This is the first pair of jeans I've ever had that were uncomfortably painful and the first pair I've had to throw out brand new completly wasting my money, for that reason I can't recomend them to anyone.
