Degani Bakery Cafe reviews
21If you like as a person to be mistreated by staff, gossiped upon & being uncomfortable. Then this is the perfect place for you. Not for me mate! Find someone else. Ciao!
Very rude staff not impressed, the food and drinks are good but the service wrecked it for me. If i seemed like i was “desperate”, i was on my god dam lunch break (the taller girl in the back! With the long black hair!)
Had a selection of cakes from Degani for dessert. The red velvet was a little artificial tasting and a tad on the dry side. The lemon tart was preferred but didn’t taste housemade. Overall nothing special
This was my first visit and while the service was excellent and the staff were friendly, I would've liked to have see a little more professionalism in the dress of some of their staff.
Bright pleasant cafe with tables spaced apart a little. Service was pleasant and efficient. The Signature Avocado Smash was good but the nachos only average. Coffee was good and the lemon cheesecake excellent.
Had a light lunch & coffee. Yay I'm a coeliac and was so happy to enjoy a gluten free pastie&Chips!
Good place for a hot coffee on a rainy day! I was there briefly recently and the waitress attendant was most helpful in finding my dropped key ring before I was even aware I had lost it. Cheers!
Very good staff, very friendly and most of the staff have been there for years. Always a sign of a well run restaurant.
Fabulous café in Ivanhoe village. Peter and his whole staff are amazing. Quality of service, beautiful food. Thanks to Tash this morning who delivered the most perfect hospitality to my friend Martin and I wonderful breakfast!
Just saw management tell off a young mother with two kids for bringing in outside food for her baby! Apparently the high chairs are a pain to clean afterwards. Here's an idea. Don't list your Cafe as 'family friendly' and certainly don't operate in a suburb like Ivanhoe if you don't wish to deal with babies and children. As a parent myself and a business owner I find this to be disgusting behaviour. Save your money for one of the many Ivanhoe establishments who welcome the business rather than shame you for having a young family.
This cafe is certainly not family friendly. I ordered a coffee and sat with my 11 month old baby and 2 year old. I brought my own food for my baby and the owner came to our table and said they don't allow outside food to be consumed on their premises and that I should have read the signage, apparently they find it 'too hard to clean the high chairs'. A ludicrous reason and the experience left me feeling very unwelcome and upset. I'm a paying customer and there is no cafe food that was appropriate to feed my baby. It is hard enough for mums to get out of the house let alone to be treated so poorly. I have shared this experience with my local Ivanhoe play group and mums group as I would hate another mum to be treated in this appalling manner. Won't be returning with or without my children.
Undergoing a revamp so the cafe is actually out of action. The owners are Manning a little popup in the main central area.
Looked great but I was sick at the time my friend loved it so I will give it another go yours faithfully Adrian
The service is warm and friendly, the food is delicious. The coffee could be stronger though. All up, I enjoy this cafe cheers
A fantastic cafe to enjoy a coffee at while you do some shopping or get your prescriptions.
Cathy adds a personal touch and makes you feel right at home!
Recommended the fat chips.
Just be aware that you can’t sit in their cafe to drink their coffee if you eat a piece of sushi from the next door vendor. Customer service was very disappointing. I am not sure how eating a piece of sushi in their open cafe at a table in the walkway of the mall hurts then as I purchased a coffee from them. Unfortunately they have nothing I can eat here with my diet but they did not seem to care.
My daughter took me for an early Mother's day brunch and the service was outstanding, the food delicious and the tea and coffee perfect. Thanks to the staff we had a very pleasant afternoon out, it was great not to be rushed out of the door, like a lot of other cafes. I would highly recommend Deganis Ivanhoe.: D
I have coffee a once a week. Most staff are friendly and service is good. The only thing is: Please put your name on the high chairs. They are located next to the communal dining area. I used it not knowing they belonged to this cafe and got told off by a lady staff (although she was a bit overreacting over one grain of rice, she was polite enough) as I didn't order anything from them.
Great place to grab a coffee or have a bite to eat. Coffee is consistently fabulous and staff are very friendly and welcoming too! Highly recommended:)
Salt & Pepper Squid - superb! Mum had butterfly prawns - she loved them and she's a very fussy eater. I tasted one too-5 Stars. Will definitely return. Prices were reasonable, service great. Well done Deganis Ivanhoe!
