Deepam Tandoori Indian Restaurant

We booked table for family on Mother’s Day, it was horrible experience right from beginning, they refused regarding booking, asked to wait, after 30 minutes they offer us two different table to split guests, then it rooks 30 minutes to get water, after many requests got the dinner which horrible, curries was full of tomato paste, rotis and nan were undercooked, at the end after 2 hours we quit dinner. Never had this kind of experience in any restaurant. Spoiled our dinner.

Dal makhani was salty and rest of the curries where like sugar syrup this place used to be very good with yummy food but today I don’t know what happened may be they changed the chef but very disappointed with food will never ever order from this place

We attended as a ladies night out, no complaints for the food that was so good but the service was terrible we had people's drinks and meals missed and we felt like we had to shout and wave to be served. Some of our group arrived late due to traffic and some unfortunately didn't make it but we made staff aware that we were ready to order and apologised for the delayed and missing people, They blamed they thought we were still waiting on more people but if that was the case not sure why they brought out some of our meals and not others.

Absolutely disappointing experience!

They have no authenticity to the food they are offering.
Wait time for dine in is more then 45 mins But for uber eats they ready the food very quick but no one care for dine in customers.we ordered 4 entrees including kids fries as well we got 3 entrees after 40 mins wait but for kids fries they forget the given us when we finished all the entrees after 15-20 mins, And that time only 3 tables occupied for dining in restaurant But they are short of staff or poor management of staff or they are too busy for online orders as we seen uber deliveries going on during we are waiting for our order.
They don't know what's the difference fried rice or veg biryani.we ordered veg biryani they given us veg fried rice.and all the curries are horrible taste taste.need more staff and better qualified chef for north indian cooking Thanks

Excellent food and service. Naan is so soft and a must try. They are very quick in preparing food. Would never hesitate to order here!

What a waste of resources and time! Had a take away a few weeks back, the food was tasteless and cooked in some very sweet flavoured curries lacking any distinct taste of spices! They dont even know how to cook paneer tikka, so badly made and not at all marinated paneer chunks for so hard to chew and very tasteless. Trust me if you are after nice Indian food with some authentic taste, this exhorbitant restaurant lacking basic culinary skills is definitely not the right choice! Dont even think of it! This wasnt the first time we had the takeaway from
here but it was 5th time and I feel sorry for them as they always succeeded to disappoint us even after giving them benefit of doubt so many times. A VERY BIG NOOOOO.

The food here was amazing. Loves the place. Especially garlic naan were fab! Didn't like the service much though. They need to be welcomed towards there customers. The place is suitable for fine dine

Very bad experience, order takeaway from here n the curries was sweet as we told them we need spicy food honestly speaking curries was like just tomato paste n cream with pieces of paneer, compare to other good restaurants prices are high too.never ever ordering again

We had a small party catered by Deepam. Mister Soothraky was very helpful and provided first class service. It is no wonder that his restaurant has been around for such a long time!
Highly recommend them.

Gorgeous people who run this restaurant. Always been kind and love their food! We have loved getting the set menu from here many many times. Will always return for their beautiful curries!

We ordered takeaway papri chat and tikki chat. Service was quick but quality of food was extremely poor. Instead of tikki they used Bhalla, the food tasted stale. Papri chat had minimal sauce and no yogurt. Wouldn't recommend

Everything went well as we went to celebrate our friends daughter birthday.but for our bad luck we all ended up having covid positive the reason was, one of the staff was having covid. Very bad start of this New Year

When visiting a friend in Berwick we decided to have Indian for dinner after I was racing about Versa Restaurant in Pakenham. Safe to say that Versa still takes out the win. The butter chicken from Deepam was like eating tomato paste, the lamb saag was watery and the beef Rogan Josh non flavorful. We were very disappointed. The owner and the lady behind the counter were rude and didnt even understand their own menu.

I haven’t been to this place for a long while, but recently been there twice & both times they have charged me an extra $1.50 for an credit card fee? I don’t think these people know what the law is in Australia as you can’t charge somebody $1.50 for using a credit card. You can only charge them the percentage of the credit card fee that is that low it’s not worth charging for, 1.2 percent of the transaction price, I think I will be reporting them to the authorities. Also got a hair in my Vindaloo, don’t bother going there!

I ordered Dahi bhallas and chat papri. I was given a box with 3 vadas and tiny bit of yogurt. That’s absolutely not what I ordered. It’s certainly not called dahi bhalla.
Even the chat papri had just the boiled chickpeas, lots of chopped onion and tomatoes and few whole pieces of papri (that looked so old and hard).

Absolutely tasteless and no AUTHENTICITY.

Please don’t serve your Own recipes with the authentic names of Indian cuisine. Get them different names so people know what they get for the money they pay!

Never going back!

Takeaway portions are tiny for the price you pay!
I had lamb saag, had two mouthfuls and couldn't eat the rest. The lamb tasted really funky. Partner had beef vindaloo, the sauce was super tangy unlike any vindaloo we have had before. Both were supposed to be medium, neither had any heat.

So disappointed.

FOOD ADULTERATION: Poor food quality: average tasting food; we ordered lassi and found human hair in it. The restaurant refused to refund or deliver new lassi. Real concern for the cleanliness.

Cheap restaurant!

In the sense cheap people. We had ordered takeaway it costs about $75 but they charged me $89. ($14 extra they charged me)

I told the guy who gave me food to recheck the bill and he said yes its $89. My mistake is I didn't ask for receipt I was in hurry.

But not recommended by me to anyone. I think everyone earned by working hard and don't want to give their money to these type of people.

I order Masala dal ($15), paneer makhni (15.50), 8 roti ($24), 2 naan ($6) and veg fried rice (14.50). Added menu photo as well if you want to check the price.

Really really disappointed

Guys please don’t buy from here! This place has very unreasonable prices and poor quality food. Food also terrible. What a waste of money! Takes ages to get the meal. I ordered couple of meals from this restaurant through uber eats. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive. Also I was charged $4 of service which was rediculous. By far my worst Uber Eats experience!

Just bought papri chaat take away the price on web site is $10.00, and On the menu card it’s say $10.00. But they tried to charge $11.50. Please Be aware everyone. Absolutely rude and unprofessional customer service. Try to avoid going to Deepam Tandoori Indian restaurant. Disgusting attitude.
