We are staying at the hotel. Very disappointing meal. I had the Falafel Bowel, which had maybe a quarter cup of room temperature "salad" (undressed finely diced red onion, tomato and a tiny bit of parsley), room temperature cauliflower without the tahini dressing, four small, quite black and only warm deep fried falafel, and literally a half cup of kalamata olives straight from the bucket. The hummus had a skin like it had been sitting on the plate for ~30 mins before I got it. My wife had the Lamb rump. The lamb was only just warm and quite dry, carrots wrinkled and old, piping hot (but unfortunately full of undercooked lumps) mashed potato, and very little jus with literally a half teaspoon of raw not "roasted" pistachios. The food arrived just 56 minutes after we were seated at 7pm. Two tables who ordered after us received their food before us (out of 5-6 tables). The martini's (it's advertised as an "& bar") were fine. There was a sign saying they were short staffed. We empathise with this - the whole county is about the same way. Please consider making the menu smaller and simpler rather than offering sub-standard food and service. Especially for the premium price. Now we fight the bill at checkout.

Extremely disappointed at the service received tonight. I’ve been staying at the hotel for the last 3 years for work but our experience received at the bistro was beyond appalling.

We were seated and waited for over 15 minutes with no service. Other patrons who were coming in AFTER us were being served but we weren't. I then proceeded to ask one of the waitresses if she could come serve once she was ready and for some table water, for her to then CONTINUE to start serving other patrons who came in after us for us to wait another 5 minutes before receiving any service.

Once finally being served, I ordered 2 entrees and 1 main and asked if these meals had any nuts due to an allergy, then for her to come back after checking with the chef and say “the kitchen is too busy to check if any of these meals have nuts”, I then asked what meals I can have and was given an extremely vague and unsure answer for her to say “I can take a guess for you” which is extremely insulting for someone with a life threatening allergy (For the record, the menu has dietary requirements for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free and if there is a GFO / DFO / VGO etc, but nothing for nuts… so how were we to know?).

I have never received such bad service or ever encountered a restaurant that hasn’t even bothered to want to accomodate for an allergy before. If anyone wants a good meal with great service - “Images Restaurant” is 5 minutes down the road!

It's an ok first time experience but nothing extraordinary about it. It's all about advertising and the place feels like a money making enterprise.
The hotel rooms are very ordinary and if you are looking for a luxury place, it's not definitely the hotel you are looking for. The view is very limited and the form of the windows won't give you a nice view. My room was supposed to have an ocean view but all I could see was the ceiling of the sanctuary and the carpark.
The staff are friendly in the hotel reception and the restaurant but those working in the sanctuary look like they dont like what they are doing! They are rude and really really unfriendly. I have a very disappointing experince with them.
We booked for an afternoon session but forgot about the day and realized the day after. I went to a staff member and explained my situation and kindly asked him if he could just give me 5 minutes to go in the sanctuary and take a few photos. He was very rude and turned us away. Later I went to the manager of the sanctuary and asked her if she could give me 5 minutes because they were fully booked and we were not able book another spot. She didn't show any empathy and blamed everything on Covid blah blah blah and the privacy of other. Anyway the choice she gave me was to go to the fifth level and take a photo from the top (what a clever idea!).
Then we had another booking with the private bathe in the Bathhouse. The so called private bathe was a tiny room with a creepy pool a remainder of SAW movie series with a very high white ceiling! All the walls around the bathe were rusty perfect match to kill the vibe! It feels like you are there to wash a dead body in a horror movie. It wasn't relaxing at all and we kind of felt we had to go out quickly because we couldn't bear standing there more than 5 minutes.

This place won't be our choice again and we would recommend other places for a cheaper price and better service.

Amazing food, catering to dietary needs. Half the menu is Gluten-Free (very unusual but made my day), everything was perfect, had a truly wonderful night for a 2 year anniversary. Special mention to the front of house staff, desserts took a little time to come out. Gave one to us for free.

Can't thank the staff enough for a really enjoyable night (Safe for the gluten intolerant). WILL. BE. COMING. BACK! (For it all, if not just that creme brulee)

I have had the pleasure of eating here plenty of times…and still look forward to the next opportunity to visit again.
Have had some amazing steaks and incredible seafood here and the desserts are always impressive.
I have never had a less than outstanding experience here and highly recommend it.

We ordered room service. Food arrived barely warm after about 45minutes.

We ordered a chicken schnitzel, a chicken Parma and a spaghetti carbonara. Firstly, the chicken tasted like one of the frozen chicken from Coles or Woolies. It does not taste nice. The Parma even had a weird, rubbery taste to it. Half way through the meal, we found some area of the Parma was actually undercooked. It is shocking to say the least. Definitely not what you will expect a 4.1 star restaurant to be. The carbonara is just acceptable.

But in all of these bad experience, one of the restaurant staff, Tony, was extremely friendly and helpful in our situation. Answered our call with professionalism and upon hearing our disatisfaction, he quickly came to our room to assist and removed the chicken Parma from our order.

Overall, don't eat here. Better off driving to city centre for better and cheaper food.

I had the Lamb ragu and it was legit. Full of flavour and current marinading in my belly. Great service as well.

Disappointed with the dinner we had at Deep Blue. We ordered oysters to start — which were ok but served warm which is worrying from a food hygiene perspective. Then the avocado and bocconcini salad we ordered was drowned in what tasted like Kraft salad dressing out of a bottle.

For main, I had a chicken parmigiana which itself was ok, but it was served with vegetables reheated from a frozen packet (soggy carrots, beans and corn) and again a salad that had been doused in Kraft dressing.

My partner’s ‘crispy skin salmon’ was served with a rubbery, soggy skin and was barely cooked through — it was mostly rare.

These things really have no place in a restaurant charging restaurant prices. It’s not hard to peel a carrot, top and tail some fresh beans and mix up a fresh salad dressing. If I can cook a crispy skin salmon at home, a restaurant chef should certainly be able to.

If it had been a decent restaurant there’s every chance I’d have visited each day of my stay. But after this one disappointing experience there’s no way I’d go back.

From Melbourne came here for dinner after the springs as we heard the calamari was great, got the calamari as an entree’ and it was the best we’ve had in our lives! The mains were big portions and meat was succulent. Dessert was delicious as well! Will come back again.

This is during COVID times so understandably there’s minimal atmosphere in the small dining space - however that doesn’t excuse poor food when you’re paying for decent dining out prices.

My starter was possibly the worst I’ve ever had. A half warmed block of cheap Camembert, cold chewy toast, guacamole which was brown and either old or came from a tube (did not taste like anything). There was supposed to be mango chutney which wasn’t on the plate. I regretted asking for it as it tasted terrible.

I wouldn’t expect this type of plate to be served up at a backpackers or hostel, let alone a 4 star hotel restaurant. Luckily the mains were a lot less disappointing, but the bar was pretty low, so anything would be good after that!

Not worth the price, they need some improvements in the menu and kitchen.

Not happy Jan

Service is ok, it would be 4 stars
Food is Ok, can say 4 stars
Rest not good, you decide.
I am giving 3 stars just because of nice food and service.
This happened on the first night of our stay at Deep Blue Hotel & Hot Springs.
Menue of restaurant looked appealing and we decided to give it go especially to seafood plater for two. And I wanted seafood chowder too. So, wee arrived made booking as has been requested.
Being in such a location I expected nice ambiance, ocean views and cozy restaurant, but instead met with white walls and cold ambience. Regardless, it was our first night at hotel, we didn't want to be disappointed, we ordered Shild Estate Merlot from Barossa Valley. On our suprise, they didn't have it. Nor seafood plater or chowder. They have nicely put them on the menu.
Instead they had a couple of main meals on special. One of them, chicken breast which we ordered. Other meal was traditional grilled fish and chips.
To be honest, the menu looked great but they didn't even try to tell us when we made reservation, they do not have seafood except traditional fish and chips. Is it too hard to cross over "favorites" dishes or any other, together with drinks they cant offer to their guests?
At the end they tried to charge us higher price for chicken breast.
Conclusion, we are not going back.

Seriously amazing! Vegetarian and Vegan options (alongside seafood/meat). I will put my hand up and recommend the vegan mains! Dessert: loved the texture and flavour in the banana parfait! I tried it because I wanted to give vegan a fair go. I wasn’t sure about the description because of my own bias with coconut cream being too strong in flavour. But this was really subtle coconut tone and big light creamy texture! Thank u for having vegan options, I’m leaning towards more plant based food and weaning myself off dairy! Flavours were great, ate everything! Except the plant based meat, maybe mushrooms would’ve been better for flavour and texture.and cashew cream sauce was quite chunky, that could hav been the intended effect, but seriously loved everything! And service! Was awesome:) all female crew that night, u girls rock!:) :)

NICE RESTAURANT AND BAR WITHIN THE DEEP BLUE RESORT
The service is friendly, the decor upmarket and the menu extensive:)
People with mobility issues will be fine as its all on one level (including toilets).
Breakfast is good with quite a few options. Personally I'd recommend the a la carte option over the buffet as the food quality is better.
Does Not serve lunch.
Dinner is good. One thing to watch out for though is bus tour groups who tend to swamp the restaurant's capacity. I would recommend that you check with the staff to see if they are expecting a tour group that evening.

Didn't stay at the Deep Blue Hotel but heard the restaurant was good and so went for dinner with my family. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beer and food was excellent and the quantity is very good too. Usually I don't eat dessert but the Cheesecake was so good so couldn't resist. The atmosphere is awesome as well so all in all a splendid dinner. Will visit again definitely.

Ate while staying at the hotel, food was excellent. The lobster tails were exceptional, and service were welcoming and attentive. This chef knows what to do with fish.
Update - Additional nights visit was a little underwhelming. Reduced from five to four stars.
