De Marco Lawyers reviews
35 My daughter and I had the unfortunate experience of visiting this law firm in order to obtain a copy of my late father's will. He passed away a few months ago, and due to a banking error, funds were mistakenly deposited into a closed or incorrect account. The bank required a copy of his will and death certificate to rectify the situation, which is why we sought the will.
Upon arriving at the firm, I handed the receptionist a document and politely requested a copy of the will. To my dismay, she responded in a rude and condescending manner, asking if I had obtained the document from the internet. I explained that I had consulted various government sources and had been directed to this particular document. However, without even bothering to read it or gather any information, she flatly denied my request, stating that I was not stipulated in the will and insisted that I provide proof of my relationship to the deceased via a birth certificate and his death certificate.
At this point, my daughter stepped in, confirming that she was indeed named in the will and had a rightful claim to a copy. Shockingly, the receptionist remained obstinate and refused to provide the document. I pointed out that the document clearly stated that anyone named in the will had a legal right to obtain a copy, and this visibly upset her, as she had been proven wrong. Grudgingly, she finally acquiesced, begrudgingly requesting my daughter's identification.
By this stage, I was emotionally distressed by the reception staff's unprofessional behavior and their unnecessary intransigence. I left the building briefly to regain my composure, only to return and request that the documents be certified. To my astonishment, a group of lawyers and other staff members gathered around the reception desk, and the receptionist questioned my need for certification, insinuating that I intended to make an illegal claim on my father's assets, despite lacking any right to them since I was not named in the will.
This baseless accusation greatly distressed me, as I felt ganged up on by individuals who did not fully grasp the situation. Frustration and anger welled up within me, and I explained that certification was necessary because the Commonwealth Bank specifically required it. I also emphasised that I had no intention of claiming my father's assets, as the bank had erroneously placed the funds in the wrong account, which was supposed to belong to my mother.
Finally, after witnessing the extent of my distress, one person relented and agreed to certify the documents. At that point, I stepped outside the law firm and broke down emotionally. Throughout this ordeal, one individual did make an attempt to show sympathy and acknowledge the unnecessary involvement of the staff, but it did little to alleviate the situation.
My daughter later reviewed the documents and, on her way out, told them, "I expect better customer service next time, " before leaving without waiting for their response. They only backed down when they saw how visibly distraught and hysterical I had become.
In sum, the conduct of the individuals at this law firm was unprofessional, unethical, and indicative of a lack of legal knowledge. They employ reception staff who appear to be completely unaware of the law and deliberately made the process of obtaining my father's will needlessly difficult. Their actions caused me so much stress that my hands and head were shaking. I have no intention of ever interacting with or returning to this law firm, and I will actively discourage others in my community from seeking their services. These individuals displayed cruelty, a power trip mentality, and an inability to accept that others may possess greater knowledge than them.
High praise for Michael Pickering & Satvinder Kaur for a smooth property settlement. Very responsive & professional service. Thanks again.
A long and complex litigation brought to a satisfactory conclusion through mediation. Well done to Michael Tourkakes and the whole team. Very satisfied with the attention given to our case.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Michael Tourkakes from De Marco Lawyers during an unfortunate circumstance in which I needed help. Michael went above and beyond to resolve my issue. He was straight forward and to the point which is what I needed. Once given all the information, he was quick to work and wrote up all necessary correspondence and letters promptly. 10/10 highly recommended.
Michael and the team at DeMarco’s were brilliant. Helped me achieve a speedy resolution and got the result I was after. Highly recommended!

Went though De Marco Lawyers for an incident they where very professional and extremely helpful as we were uncertain of what to do. Would highly recommend this law firm to anyone
My mother age 94 with dementia was taken there by two greedy family members to sell her unit and change her will and power of attorneys without the lawyer asking any questions, he did not ask for a capacity assessment and didn't protect my mother, she was put into a aged care facility without the rest of the family knowing, he also was taking her out for lunch and said that he felt that she didn't have dementia when she had already had a capacity assessment done, warning to all, very unprofessional and no duty of care to our most vulnerable.
My wife and I recently sold our home and have moved into a Retirement Village. De Marco Lawyers handled all transactions and made it an extremely smooth transition for us. We would like to particularly thank Tiana Bernard and Chris Bailey for their expert advice and assistance. We certainly would recommend De Marco Lawyers for anyone seeking legal advice.

We recently contracted Demarco Lawyers when selling our family home. They were very helpful in dealing with the sale in particular Tiana Bernard who went above and beyond with stepping Mum and Dad through the process of their first sale ever. We appreciate her kindness & patience very much. We found their fees for everything they did for us very reasonable too. Thankyou Demarco!
Thank you to the staff at De Marco Lawyers and a special thank you to Isabel who was extremely professional and helpful in the selling and buying of our homes. It was re-assuring to know we were in good hands throughout a very stressful time. Highly recommended.
Michael Tourkakes was phenomenal in my family law matter. Responsive, timely, invested and actually gave realistic council. He made a very difficult time much more palatable. So grateful for his effort and sincere care. Highly recommend.
Franca and Chris were very helpful, above expectations with attending to probate matters. Made a very stressful period as easy as possible, particularly with added lockdown difficulties. Very thoughtful and professional.
I have found Franka and Chris to be exceptionally knowledgeable, diligent and kind. Highly recommend De Marco lawyers.
Do not go here as these people are very unprofessional, unfriendly and only interested in taking your money. Extremely rude staff.
DON'T Deal with these DeMarco Lawyers as they are THIEVES as they will bill you for services not rendered and prey on people who cant stand up for them selves and try to get same amount every year because they think they are above law.
Lyn at De Marco lawyers has been a pleasure to deal with. Extremely efficient, prompt and attentive to detail. Wouldn’t use anyone else!
We are very happy after our recent dealing with De Marco Lawyers at the Glenroy branch, a special thanks to Christopher Bailey and Bianca Yousif for their professional service, advice and prompt response in regard to the Wills & Probate, and the Transfer of properties. We highly recommend
De Marco Lawyers to anyone for a consultative chat about their legal situation.
I’ve dealt with a few solicitors in my time but this firm in my opinion provides the poorest customer service I’ve ever experienced. I found them extremely slow to act on matters of great importance to me and was constantly being handled by different personal within the firm. Obtaining important documents that belong to me but are in their ‘safe’ is also proving near impossible with hurdle after hurdle that they want me to jump over. The steps that they have provided me to obtain my documents had been far from accurate. I will never deal with this firm again and would strongly encourage friends and family look into other firms and avoid the stress and heartache that this firm has caused me! Very unprofessional in my opinion!
My mother and I contacted De Marco Lawyers regarding an issue she had with a liquidator. We did not expect to speak to a lawyer. Instead our phone call was immediately transferred to someone who provided us with amazing advice. Their assistance allowed us to contact the liquidator and reached a solution. I would recommend De Marco Lawyers and found them professional and knowledgable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
