De Gusto

Friendly smile and service, delicious food and great coffee. I'd come back here when in the city again.

Might be that's me - it is not a coffee shop I would go for. I couldn't relax and enjoy my breakfast at all.
Coffee:
The coffee is pretty average to be honest. I ordered a soy mocha in a mug. However, it turned out a mug of soy Cappuccino.
Food:
I ordered scrambled egg wrap which was a good value in regard of the proportion they were given. However, I was a little hesitated when the owner and the trainee turned my wraps in the oven without gloves or tongs after they were cleaning and doing other stuffs. I was sitting at the back of the restaurant that I could oversight how did they prepare the food.
Atmosphere:
All I can heard the owner bossy the trainee entire time and the noise of cleaning dishes.
That's not much customer service engagement. All I can see 3 people & 1 trainee worked in the cafe. There were only 5 customers while I was there. They seem very busy and under stressed. Then the chef became a waiter to clean up all the dishes on the tables. It feels like they were in a war zone (lack of hospitality management?) and I couldn't relax to eat my breakfast.
Customer Service:
No greetings when I walked in and walked out from the cafe. It didn't feel welcoming at all.

A pleasant surprise. In town for business this week and wandered over to De Gusto for lunch. Simple counter service set-up acts as a cover for a wonderfully delicious burger. Distinctive savory meat flavor, perfectly crisp brioche bun, and melted cheese dripping over a slice of Canadian bacon. A burger can seem such a simple meal, but rarely have I had it so well prepared. Perfect balance of toppings and meat on the perfect roll. Lettuce below the burger to keep the roll fresh. Everything you could want from a burger and I highly recommend the Perfectly crispy onion rings with slightly spicy aioli.
