Daylesford Spa Country Railway reviews
32Always wanted to do this ride so at the age if 68 I finally did (not a local). Not the train I would have liked but still very enjoyable and very comfy. "New" station at Bullarto looks great, well done"". Cute old fashioned ticket that was punched on board. Would do the ride again. Amazed at the amount of stock the volunteers have. Thankyou.
Had an absolute ball at the market and the train ride. Large range of stalls and different selections.
Exciting historical experience with friendly staff. Food and Market stalls of all kinds of products. Bring cash.
Always lovely road trip to Daylsford for the day when the market is on. Have a train ride, eat some amazing food and buy some handmade or second hand goodies.
Simply the best without doubt! A must do when you are in the area. Fantastic market as well. Even better now than before.
This is a great railway ride for the family, going from Daylesford to Bullarto and back. The trains are well maintained and are in fantastic condition. The staff are friendly and helpful with information. This is a great thing to do of you are a train lover.
Highly recommend this to do, if you are having day trip in the Daylesford area.
Loved, loved, loved it! Could only go as far as Musk (apparently there were trees over the tracks further up). Very nostalgic. Train drivers and ticket seller all very friendly.
Awsome train rides for the kids and the animal petting farm.
As you can see my son absolutely loved a ride on the old style steam train
Just looking for future fun. Lots of info and easily walkable from daylesford town centre. Great to see expansions happening too. This is a space to watch. Markets and food truck Fridays are amazing add ons
Part of the Sunday Daylesford Market - can book tickets there or online beforehand. Went in December, $18 per adult return to go out to Musk and back. Beautiful vintage train. Due to works, the train went out 20 minutes to Musk, we had 10 minutes to walk around the station there, then back on the train to Daylesford. The windows could open for fresh air, and views included hills, farmland, cows, many bales of hay and leafy greenery - great for adults, children and families.
Wonderful experience if you're visiting Daylesford. Run by passionate volunteers, this is a must do if you're in town on Sunday!
A great train experience that everyone has to try atleast once. Occasionally they also have farmers markets nearby too which really helps to add to an already great day out
Great day out at the Daylesford Sunday market. Loads of stalls with everything from fruit and vegies to old and new homewares and lots of plants, nick nacks and of course food stalls. The railway runs to three other towns close by and is a hit with the young ones as well as the older generations.
Very busy town now, prices at most of the eateries were high. Saw alot very impatient drivers & ones that shouldnt be behind the wheel.
Love this Sunday market, my wife and I visit every Sunday for our fruit/ veg and bread. We also like to browse through the art, craft and bric a brac. It is a must visit place for tourists.
Unfortunately due to covid the railway was not running but we stopped to have a look at the farmers market.
Great place for a weekend. Nice walk around the lake. Natural springs tell a lot of history of this place.
This is a moving museum. Great experience to ride on charming old train with tranquil country view. The ride was slow and quite rough, accompanying with diesel smell. However it makes us appreciate the comfort and efficiency of modern trains which all began from old trains some sort like this.
12/1/2020: During our ride, there was a young boy catching up readily with camera and tripod from a safe distance at every crossing to take photos of the train passing by, assisted by his mum (we assume) and a 4WD standby. It's the highlight of our ride to look out for him at every crossing and wave at him (and he waves back!). Hubby and I wonder if he is a 'toritetsu'? Would love to see his pictures from his perspective if we have a chance.
Fun little train trip mixed in with the sunday Market.
Wish there was some activities at the destination but still fun.
