Dar Tèta reviews
23Delicious homemade dips served warm, the option of gluten free pita (I am coeliac) and amazing haloumi drizzled with fig and pomegranate sauce… Yum!
What can I say. An impromptu stop and the food was gorgeous. The chicken was mouth watering. Even the salad was lovely made. The hummus was absolutely divine. Lovely host too and gorgeous surrounds and I don't say any of this lightly.
We visit forrest multiple times per year and highly recommend Dar Tèta. Their coffees and sweet treats (
Turkish delight, baklava etc) never disappoint. Their hospitality is friendly and welcoming, and the added bonus of outdoor seating is highly enjoyable.
The best middle eastern meals I ever had. Will be back. A beautiful garden to share food & wine with family &friends.
The best falafels and hummus we've ever had - definitely be back. Also a cosy atmosphere with nice space to play chess on colourful couches and with lovely furnishings.
This place is delicious food cooked with love. Like being wrapped in a warm belly hug of yumminess. One of those places you want to keep to yourself but know it should be shared. I'll be back, again and again.
We ran out of petrol and walked in to ask for help. We ended up staying for a beautiful meal and baclava! They were so welcoming and kind, looking forward to coming back properly next time
What a find! Tucked away in the smallest of towns in the Otways. An accidental discovery as us three women were tripping around Victoria. Probably the best restaurant food we've had on our trip Food was excellent, restaurant lovely and Eli and her daughter topped off the experience.

A spectacular place, lovely service, and very authentic, high quality, filling food. Strongly recommend you “trust Dar Tera” when you order, as the chef is lovely and is just waiting for the opportunity to come out and sort out just the right food and drink for your group. Based on my experiences growing up with a middle eastern and Arab family, and exploring those places in my travels, this is a very authentic and brilliant quality experience.
What a great restaurant, the setting is lovely and the food (Middle Eastern cuisine) is fantastic! We had lunch there today and could not fault it, the food was great and the owner/chef/waiter was so friendly. If you are in Forrest and hungry look no further than Dar Teta.

Delicious food, excellent service, very warm and inviting, highly recommended, would love to go there again and again
Beautiful lunch with friends after our 21km walk in Forrest. Delicious food and excellent coffee to finish! Thank you Elly
A lovely spot, the food was very tasty. They were able to cater for gluten free and vegan dishes. The staff and owner were very friendly and lovely! Well worth checking this place out.
Great food, great drinks amazing chef, felt the love put into the cooking, front house a bit raw
What a brilliant gem of a restaurant. The food is prepared with love and authenticity. I would not have believed it unless I experienced it. Well worth visiting if you are travelling to the Otways.
Sensational authentic home made food. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly genuine staff. An absolute pleasure to dine there
We had lunch after a MTB ride it was so nice booked in for dinner. Food was great both times friendly staff. Do yourself a favour and make a booking
Unexpected stop in Forrest, noticed some red umbrellas out the front and what can I say, everything happens for a reason. We've had some great food while enjoying our stay in Melbourne but this has by far been our favourite experience yet!
Amazing options for Gluten & Dairy free.
Outstanding food & coffee
Genuine & helpful staff.
Stunning gardens and vibe.
10/10, whenever we come to Vic, Dar Teta will be on our list
A delightful experience of very well cooked food, from which we chose stuffed vine leaves, kofta and grilled halloumi, which I have to say, is now the best halloumi dish I have had.
The 2017 Blake’s Estate Pinot Grigio from Deans Marsh, Victoria paired well.
A recommended lunch stop on the way through to Apollo Bay.
