41Our favorite Korean restaurant in Melbourne. Unpretentious, delicious, we've tried almost every dish, all are delish and authentic! Portion size is very good too. Best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and stews/soup!
We visited on a weekday in late August and had their lunch special. Our lunch was slightly late. The restaurant was really quiet (IIRC we were the only customers). The food was a great comfort on a cool winter’s day. The kimchi stew as pictured packs a spicy punch. Couldn’t find any fault.
Had the japchae, tteokbokki and the fried chicken - absolutely divine. Waiter was attentive and courteous. Can’t find any fault with the fabulous Korean restaurant!
Cosy Korean restaurant that has a delicious home cooked flavour. Ample parking, dishes come in generous portions. Get a few dishes, an army stew and bottles of Soju, recipe of an excellent weekend.
My favourite go to Korean hands down.:) Really clean and fresh ingredients. Perfect for after gym workout meal.
Great chefs dishing out excellent food. Consistency and friendly service makes this restaurant a must to try out.
Food tastes average and serving sizes were much smaller than local competitors. We wouldn't go back.
On top of this, we're pretty sure we got food poisoning from this meal.
I checked with the waiter if the food ordered was enough. He said yes, but it's actually not.
The best bibimpap I have add. Ingredients were fresh, egg yolk was cooked to perfection, and the pickles sides were very good.
The waiter was just the right amount of friendly and the dishes were plated very nicely.
I went on Monday and it was quiet, so I can't judge the atmosphere
Don’t let the size of the shop fool you. It could be one of the top class Korean restaurant in Melbourne.
Had the seafood soondubu it was so delicious and there were plenty of seafood. The Korean fried chicken we had the sweet chilli which was just right, not too spicy and not overly sweet. The crust were crispy even though we are quite slowly it was still good. 2 side dishes were given, kimchi (very delicious) and fishcake sliced into thin strips. Nothing to fault.
Saw the menu, they also have BBQ, we didn't try that. Note there is no suction pipes so your clothes might smell if you go for BBQ. Overall the place is simple and pretty quiet for weeknight so good if you are looking for somewhere a little less crowded. Other diners ordered dishes. Haven't seen anyone order the BBQ.
Service is attentive.
Atomosphere is relaxing.
Food is tasty and with great portion size.
Sashimi is THICK cut, fresh and satisfying.
Galbi zzim is wholesome and hearty, flavoursome and pull apart tender.
BBQ meat plater is a heaven to any meat lovers.
The scotch steak was perfectly grilled.
It would be completed with corn cheese on the menu.
Price is fair and good value.
Ample parking around.
A bit disappointed and won’t go again
Nice customer service
But sushi is just very bad. Fish is not fresh, avocado are all black, ika sushi has chilli sauce (menu doesn’t have the sauce)
Steam egg is good.
Been here twice now. Big fan of their smokey soy Korean fried chicken - unique flavour and very good. Service can be slow when busy, seems to be a family run business. Can't wait to be back to try the spicy cheesy chicken
We’ve been customers since 2019 and their food quality has been consistent if not better with time!
Their highlight would be their fried chicken and our favorite is the original. They also have sweet chili and honey soy. Honey soy is our second favorite.
They also have lunch specials and the soondubu and bibimbap are our go-to.
Definitely worth checking out and best to make a booking on Friday and the weekend.
The best Korean fried chicken we’ve had in a while! The batter is so crunchy, the chicken is well seasoned throughout and super juicy. Japchae was also tasty and fragrant with sesame oil. The menu has a homey feel which I adore. Cannot wait to go back to try the stews and other dishes.
Food took way too long to arrive. Portions stingy- The Budae Jigae only had 3 pieces of rice cake and half a packet of instant noodle. Was charged $5 for another half block. Felt very ripped off. Fried chicken was nice though.
Had lunch there.
Great food, very good service and quite reasonable prices.
Definitely would recommend.
Been here twice now & it is pretty good with both traditional Korean & Japanese fusion food. Pancake kimchi is tasty & liked my fav - the Soondubu - seafood hotpot stew which comes with rice & 3 small sides incl kimchi. Tteok Bok Ki has the spicy sweet flavour with the glutinous chewy stuff. Cheese Buldak seems to have the same sweet spicy sauce as Tteok Bok Ki. Unfortunately- they don't serve the Korean "black" rice that I love. Service is good & prompt. Book for larger groups.
Food was good! Highly recommended However, there’s only 1 servant working and serving 6-7 tables hence there are times where he could be a little slow while serving but other than that, it was a pleasant visit.
