Dangerfield - Melbourne CBD

Dangerfield is my go to place for Alt, rock, cottagecore, and punk clothing and accessories. While you could get cheaper prices elsewhere (online), the handiness of trying out clothes and seeing accessories in person is always worth it. Not to mention the staff are always friendly and inclusive. I prefer this store to the one in Melbourne Central because there's better variety, organisation and more space! 100% always suggest Dangerfield to anyone looking for more niche or alt clothing and accessories

I have been here a couple of times. The staff are amazing and even remembered me from previous visits.
There is a great inclusive atmosphere and each staff member was able to engage with me in a way that made the entire experience positive.
They are ready to look for anything they have hidden around if you mention an idea you have.
Huge thanks to Mars for picking out some great items for me to try out for a gig I was going to last weekend, it worked out perfect!

Security are arrogant and rude.
Asked to check my tiny bumbag.
Bit ridiculous tbh. I was with a 9y child. Felt judged for being alternative!

I just walked in to buy some shoes after mine broke and the two people in the checked outfit upstairs and red top downstairs on shift went above and beyond to help. Absolutely amazing service, thank you so so much.

My favourite shop on the planet ️ staff are always so friendly and make it feel like you’re hanging out with friends rather than an awkward exchange. Truly the best place to shop in Melbourne

I used to shop here many years ago when I was particularly cool and I returned all these years later to shop for my sons birthday. I saw something online but it wasnt in stock. In what seems to be a rare experience these days, the sales assistant was exceptionally helpful. She apologized for not having the item, suggested something else, and guided me to make a purchase of the unavailable item online if I wished to do so. Really great service and a very expedited and successful visit where I got something even cooler for my kid to wear to his birthday that was cancelled last year because of covid. He will love it. The sales persons name is Yak. She is awesome.

The store was very tidy, clean and organised which you usually don't see in Dangerfield stores. Every time I've been to one of these stores the staff are usually very kind, relaxed and helpful. But the management at this store is poor as even as a customer I could see how the new staff were being micromanaged by the lady who must be the manager. Extremely passive aggressive, shouting at the new cashier and the customer they were with from upstairs about an exchange and snapping at the customer. I was trying to try some clothing on and about a minute after I came out one of the staff went inside to tidy (since there must have been a store inspection the next day) and openly and loudly complained that someone just messed up the change rooms. I had only left a few pieces of clothing on the hook. Felt as though customer service was disregarded.

Two extremely rude and judgemental staff, a girl with dark green hair and a guy downstairs on the afternoon of Friday 22nd April.
I went into the change room and my partner was with me waiting outside the change room for me, the green haired girl and the guy were acting like we shouldn't be in the store, a disgusting attitude for a store that thinks it accepts everyone.

The girl then asked if someone was in the change room, clearly I was in there because the curtain was closed. An odd question to ask when my partner was waiting right outside for me.

Upon going to the register to purchase the item, the green haired girl was talkative and nice to the people in line in front of us, calling them 'princesses' and things like that, telling them about the return policy and how they had no bags left. When we came to the register she snatched the item from me, didn't say a word except for the price and left the item on the bench without saying anything. Rude. I would've rather purchased it from a store where the customer service is better, we felt unwanted there and like we were doing something wrong

The only good thing was the lovely girl upstairs with the pink hair, she was so polite to us, you would almost think upstairs is a different shop

I had the most wonder experience and the sales assistant Nina was so lovely and choose out clothing I wouldn't have picked for myself, that looked absolutely wonderful! She was more than happy to go up and down the stairs numerous times for the many things my sister and I tried and I left a very happy customer!? ️

The staff here were gorgeous! They created such an inclusive and safe space to shop! We got great advice, and they were sooo attentive and kind

Very friendly staff infact they are really helpful and lovely ladies Everytime i come here is like a such a wonderful welcome that makes me wanna stay and browse more, believe me the lovely ladies that work here welcome everyone no matter your background, nationality and LGBT

The staff were incredibly helpful for helping me and my sister pick out clothes. With sizes, styles, giving advice on fitting, and doing literally everything they could, going above and beyond to try and accomodate.

I've been to many Dangerfield's but this one is my favourite branch for sure! Lovely and beautiful staff, super friendly and always helpful. Awesome store with good variety. (I think Brunswick may have the biggest range, my second favourite stop!) Love the styles and ALWAYS feel cute in DF/PHO outfits!

My favourite Dangerfield location by far! The customer service is always so lovely - when I was still deliberating over other items one of the sales assistants put together some accessories to match the item I had picked which was so cute and while was an impulse buy at the time, I am obsessed with what she had picked out!

Terrible online service. So unprofessional that I will never order there again! I ordered a swimsuit with a discount 2 weeks have passed, the order has not been delivered and today a letter comes that they canceled it and returned the moneyI wanted to order again, but on site swimweare has already been sold out. And this is not the first time such a service! A month ago I ordered shoes for Valentine's Day and they delivered on time but one size smaller. Although I ordered the correct size! I wrote that I want to exchange it for my size and they said that everything would be fine with express mail. After the return, they simply returned the money and wrote that everything was sold out Do not recommend this online store one headache.

WORST customer service I have ever experienced for a retail store. Went in store today to pick up an item, and was forced to stand at the counter for 15 minutes to get served, as the male cashier was taking an incredibly long time (talking on unrelated tangents, all while acting bored, and disinterested, resting their head on their hand) with the customer in line before me (not to mention screwing up the prices on their items and taking an extra long time to resolve their mistake). Not to mention being ignored by the other attendent who was free. When I finally got served, they would not take no for answer for their "giveaway sign up", and proceeded to whine passive aggressively. THEN the female employee refused to give me my recipt and let me leave, by taking a whole minute to unnecessarily FOLD MY RECIPT IN HALF, and then proceed to joke and giggle around with their coworker, all while my friend and I are left standing at the counter waiting to leave. I hate to think that they were deliberately being slow just to mess with customers, just please stop wasting my time.
