Dandenong Ranges National Park reviews
64Love Hiking? Awesome park for hiking, we had seen different birds, chirping. Loved it. Make sure to carry water, stay hydrated. Enjoy
Beautiful location although very muddy in places despite the beautiful warm day. Could be quite dangerous in places for young children with steep cliffs and no barriers. There was a young couple with a pram and newborn so perhaps signage stating that it is not suitable for prams would be helpful to some families.
A beautiful place to visit but the tracks were a bit muddy, and I didn't see any notification that the track to the falls was closed. They should add some more gravel to the tracks as it is the best time to see the falls after rain and it is promoted as a family walk.
Beautiful part of the world, tall trees fighting for sunlight, beautiful birds and critters on the ground, close to Melbourne.
There are many trails, picnic areas and cool places to visit.if you go there you'll love it! ;) specially when it's foggy! Enjoy your trip!
Wonderful park that has trekking and hiking options for everyone. Had another easy trek with my family.
Well worth the walk no matter what way you come up, beautiful views in any weather I would I highly recommend a visit
Wonderful park, explore and walk 1,000 steps up the hill, nice scenery, walk the dog, bush walking, good to explore and see amazing God who has created the beautiful nature, nice birds.
Nice to reflect and mediate.
Highly recommend it.
God bless
Frank
The park is easy to reach for those who go by train what is really nice if you’re looking for stunning views across Melbourne. I waked up the 1000 Steps from Ferntree Gully Picnic Area and at the end there are bathrooms, drinking fountains and picnic area. On the way back I did it another way that is easier and wider. I really recommend!
It is a nice place particular my for those who love nature. It is also a good idea to bring kids here. There are many free car park slots and public toilets are available.
Pound Creek Track Tecoma-Belgrave - quick refreshing trail from Sandell’s Rd to Monbulk Rd, comes out at Micawbers Tavern
Love this place. However ater storm on Wednesday it's been totally destroyed. Never seen so many trees down, looked like a war zone.
It will be a long time before the park is opened up again. Not before Xmas if not longer. The 1000 step is a favorite place for many people and I have been a regular for a good 17yrs. Very sad. Take care to anyone that ventures there.
The Dandenong Ranges is a very pleasant drive that provides spectacular views. Definitely try a mid morning Devonshire Tea at any of the many cafes and restaurants that are plentiful around The Ranges.
Nice to be able to immerse yourself in mother nature so close to home. From Australian scrub to fern forest, all just a short enjoyable walk away.
We visit 1000 steps tracks (Kokoda and Lyrebird) every week as long as it is not raining. It is a weekly exercise for us. Definitely recommend for people live in surrounding surburbs. The air is so fresh in winter and I am addicted to bush walking!
It's a complete contrast in the landscape so close to Melbourne plus the weather is slightly cooler (or colder) depending on the season. Many parks, gardens, bush walks, hilltop villages and stunning scenery needs several days to appreciate all on offer. We'll just have to come back!
Spectacularly beautiful area of the world and an absolute natural wonder of endless beauty. I could spend every day exploring the Dandenong Ranges National Park and never completely understand it or see it all in a lifetime. Every season also brings a unique beauty to this Aussie wonderland of natural splendor
Always a positive experience. Great for a mini get away and to spend quality time out in nature with your loved ones.
Lovely area to get out from the busy buzzing live! Fresh air, scenery, and places! Good area for kids to play or to hang out with friends! 1000 steps is there as well, so if you want to improve your fitness, can definitely go there regularly!
