Dandenong Police Paddocks Reserve reviews
22Absolute disgrace. Let's hope the rates being charged are significantly reduced at present. Grass either too long or grass cutting not picked up.
It’s shame because the place has wonderful reserves, walking tracks, bush and wildlife. The two major problems are:
- there are always men lurking about a at the end of Brady Rd. You will see them pretending to be walking around but they are lurking. Not safe.
- lack of facilities. The toilets at narre warre picnic reserve and closed and discarded.
For what's referred to as a Paddock is so much more! Fields for sport, walking trails, picnic areas - all close by for anyone in the area to access.
And Dandenong Trail just keeps on going and going and going
Nice reserve for a walk - but isolated and a bit of crime history sadly in this park. OK to park and walk in this entrance if sport on at the nearby fields with better passive surveillance, but otherwise, Brady Road (the main access road) is very quiet.
Also, don't forget, the public toilets are locked by Parks Victoria. In summary, a nice spot for a walk or cycling - including a nice diversion from the Dandenong Creek Trail and handy way to Churchill National Park/Lysterfield Lake Park - but consider going with someone or at least let someone know where you are. The Churchill Park After Hours Car Park on Churchill Park Drive is another option for car parking.
Played Mid Year Cricket Association round 1 at this park. Lovely spot.
Needs a public toilet though!
It requires a makeover: amenities for public sports events, upgrade of the two synthetic pitches and public rest room facilities.
What a great place to walk the dog's. Lot's of open paddocks and closed in bushland, so take your pick. I've even seen a mob of 20+ kangaroos lounging around amongst the tall grasses.
Beside from the curious friendly horses that come next to the fence for greet you, there are number of other hiking tracks connected to it, which give a variety of choices in case if you get bored of hiking through the same track everyday
Yesterday my wife and I went for walk with baby 10 months old. It's great place to visit but people let their dogs of leash it's so dangerous. On the way back to car about 2pm from 50 meters away dog Rottweiler run after us. His owners not go after him. I'm so scared of dogs. We been called for help baby cries. There's no one to help I'll say God saved that dog stopped.
Guys you have dog put them on leashes for other people safety
Thanks
Very large park right on the edge of Dandenong with several access points, so check your maps. There are lots of different sports ovals for many different ball sports, football, soccer, cricket and I think Softball/Baseball, children's playgrounds etc. Lots of tracks wind through the park, some parts which are quite remote and in heavily forested areas. I would be concerned jogging/cycling here alone, especially if you are a female. The park/reserve has an undeveloped feel to it and in some areas feels almost like virgin bush. Unfortunately because of its size and isolation it seems many people have used vehicle accessible areas as a rubbish dumping area and in many areas there are old mattresses, broken furniture and other piles of miscellaneous refuse which is truly sad to see in potentially such a beautiful area.
The Dandenong Police Paddocks Reserve is a 499-ha park managed by Parks Victoria and includes areas of significant indigenous flora. It has an interesting indigenous and non-indigenous history. A great place for walking or mountain bike riding, if you want to see some remnant bush land and wildlife. The area has a lot of tourist potential, but as far as I can see, the facilities are not maintained at all by Parks Victoria, and there are no working toilet facilities anywhere in the reserve.
Large open area, perfect for just about any hobby you could imagine, everything from running, dog walking, ball sports to model aircraft and drones.
Area has 3 ovals which well maintained. 2 baseball fields also well maintained anything beyond that I would keep children well away.
Dandenong council does not put any effort into the reserve. Toilets never opened or cleaned since opened 30 years ago. Walking tracks have fallen trees over grown grass. Because the park looks abandoned thanks to Dandenong Councils good work.it has now become a place where gay men meet up and go for a walk In the overgrown walking tracks to be disgusting in public. Mum's with kids have come across these males doing what should be done inside closed doors several times. Along with locals that used to use the reserve for fitness and walk the dogs (like my self).
Do not recommend visiting this reserve keep your self and your family well away. Dandenong council needs it's park managers sacked!
Brilliant place to do anything out door field grass or on air activity. Also nice cricket ground and excellent picnic areas.
If you like bush & tracking thro.seeing kangaroos & bird life some reptiles. It's very quiet. Been thro here many times. I like the peace & quiet.
It's basically a dead end road with lots of tracks. Nice for a walk or ride. There are no toilets and rubbish bins so please take your rubbish home. The that has a few shots grounds and popular area for taking your dog for a work too
Beautifully wide and clean place to play any type of sport. Ample space for parking. There are two with similar area.
If you are a Cricket player and looking for a ground, this place is good. There are 2 grounds. First ground is really clean and batting friendly depends the length of the grass. Outfield in general is fast. Big ground so still a lot for Bowlers too. Second ground is heaven for bowlers. It’s like a bowl with pitch in the middle. Outfield is super slow and only way to score boundaries is to hit high in the air and big gaps.
A lot of parking. But if walk to the second ground as you have to walk around the first ground. Good place to play in summer as lot of shade by big shady trees.
This place is BEAT!
Most of the people that vist that place are usually gay men looking for sex
Great for flying all kinds of remote control crafts. Also, if you like big open spaces with lots of trees, the occasional burnt out car shell and indiscriminate dumping of rubbish this place is for you.
