Dan Murphy's Malvern

30.06.23 at 12: 30pm, served by a girl around 25yo who really didn't want to be there. Said hello with reluctance and in a very insincere way. Didn't say thank you and decided it was a good idea to scroll through her phone while serving me. Needs training or a new job.

One of the better Dans outlets. Good selection of fine wines. The new tasting booth is a nice touch.

By far the least friendly staff of any Dan’s I have been too. Consistently surly and disinterested.

Don't stock everything you would expect. Ok range I suppose for a Dan's. Was directed else where for what I was looking for. Was surprised at this, considering which supply chain it is

Big store. Good layout. Not enough staff to help or to man the registers especially on weekends

Dan Murphy's never lets down with their low prices and huge range of wines, beers etc.
They also have staff with considerable knowledge whose advice is always spot on.

So much to choose from! Thankfully staff were on hand to help guide and advise, I did about half my Xmas shopping there and found something perfect for everyone. Great place, easy access, good service, good range, great prices. Cant ask for much more. Highly recommend

There is a Neurosurgeon that I went to see today and I owed him a thank you gift. I popped in to Dan's place this morning and asked for a good bottle of Malt. I use to be a whisky drinker myself. Anyway the guy, really pleasant and knows his stuff, helped me with a bottle of malt. I then was telling him about ABC wine, he was on the same page as I. He showed me a decent bottle of wine and gave me two gift bags to put the items in. Effortless, great store, great service. I have to say I did not think it would be that easy so whomever you were that served me thank you thank you! People like you are not spread around much, I appreciated your support today.

This Dan Murphys has an extensive selection of whisky in the store. They always carry a few really unique bottles.

I go in here occasionally for a big retwil store its fine. Everything is well laid out & the staff appear happy.

This is a great store to shop. I live closer to the store on Dandenong Road but started to come here about a year ago because the service is better. The staff are friendly and always willing to help with some great advice and recommendations. The prices are good and the range is good. The shop is about the right size - not too big but big enough to cater for everything you might need drinks wise. I find some of the other Dan Murphy stores too big and hard to find what you want.

I visited Dan Murphy's Malvern at around 11.30am today to purchase a few bottles of wine for friend that wasn't able to leave the house due to an illness. Whilst in store I was on the phone to said friend to talk her through her options to ensure I was purchasing the correct items. While in store, on the phone, I had an older gentlemen employee of Dan's, with a green apron on, continue to follow me around which at the time i thought was rather odd. It all made sense at 11.50am when he rudely approached me whilst I was still on the phone to ask if I needed assistance. I said no, i'm fine thank you, i'm on the phone. He proceeded to tell me, quote, "unquote" Yeah, i know, the whole store can hear you, You're not suppose to be here, you should be at home". I'm sorry, I thought the store was open to buy essentials so long as I was wearing a mask? I'm not doing anything illegal? I was basically driven out the store, and made to feel completely disrespected, so i put my purchase down, asked the cashier what this older gentleman's name was, then a red head employee behind said 'we don't need to disclose that information'. I didn't say it abruptly, what if i wanted to praise his service in store. This obviously had been set up. EXTREMELY disappointed as I usually shop at this store and usually don't have any issues. Due to being disrespected when doing absolutely nothing wrong i will never shop here again. COVID really is bringing the sillies out. Based on new information of Melbourne going into stricture lockdown as of Wednesday and you'll all be out of a job, perhaps you'll think twice about driving paying customers away.

Disappointing experience with this Dan Murphy’s this evening. Security staff without any PPE failed to observe social distancing guidelines and insisted on identifying us prior to entry by getting in front of us to prevent entry. Upon receiving our ID, I expressed my frustration that Dan Murphy’s was insisting on this dangerous behaviour. At least appropriately equip your staff to protect the public.

The same staff member then decided to again approach us as we left the store in a confrontational manner insisting we take her badge number and company to make a complaint. She did not respect social distancing and her behaviour escalated a situation that had already been resolved.

Okay Dans, not the reason for the 1/5 stars. Cashier Joel was extremely rude and disrespectful to my friend and I - unclear with his questions and decided to belittle both of us. Rude individual! I expect Joel to be pulled up on this by his superiors.

Despite not being one of the biggest, the store always seems to have a really good range of wine, and their wine expert Garry really adds value with his knowledge and dedication.

Great staff. Good local cheep alcohol store.
They also have the best staff and possibly the best prices across all liquor shops.

Great range, knowledgeable staff, easy parking, short queues and excellent free tastings.
