Dan Murphy's Hawthorn East reviews
12The woman who was managing on the night of the 23rd December was so helpful, kind and patient when we were doing a rather large return. Unfortunately we did not catch her name but hope she can get recognised for her amazing customer service, we really appreciated it!
Was the first time visit this store, got what i need, went to the counter and pay.i ask how to join membership, an orderly man stand behind the counter had a lemon (sour) on his face wasn’t interested to provide more info & serve.respond was ‘scan the code to join’
seriously, how much cost to provide a friendly service and smile?
not happy to work? Then don’t, stay home & let others to have the job.
This DM store is probably newly opened. It is very beautiful and one of the larger stores in Melbourne. The wines are clearly classified and the variety is complete!
In addition, there are Wowosi and Asian supermarket coffee shops nearby. Parking in the underground parking lot is convenient. It is worth mentioning that if you order wine online, it is especially convenient to pick up the goods at this store. There is a special parking lot at the Toorak intersection. At the pickup location, you can park your car and pick it up directly without getting out of the car, which is great!
I visited the store on Sunday 15th October around 3pm, it was my first visit to the store, a lovely girl greeted me when I walked in & a lazy boy served me when I paid for my items. I had to ask him twice for a box then he expected me to put the bottles in the box. I have a sore arm due to arthritis, I informed him I was dissatisfied with his lack of service, he just shrugged his shoulders in response. My regular store is Camberwell, they are always so nice & helpful there. Needless to say I will not be returning.
It looks good, but surprisingly little range for Dan's, they didn't have what I came for or either of my two back up choices. Spent ages trying to find something that was vaguely what I was after, ended up driving to the Caulfield one and was in and out in two minutes with exactly what I wanted in the first place. Looking fancy isn't everything and this isn't the first time I've stopped in and not been able to find something reliably on the shelf at other locations.
Go to the Camberwell one instead. Went to the checkout to look at gift bags and both the guy at the checkout and security man said several times that the checkout was around the corner, like I was lost, their tone was weirdly forceful and I was so shocked I couldn't get out the words to explain I wanted a gift bag. I ended up just paying and leaving in a bad mood, without a gift bag
Nice store and layout, a little annoying that you can’t choose to click and collect from inside the store OR in the car park, sometimes it’s easier to just pick up in store if you’re going into Woolies too.
One of the customer service workers at the counter was extremely rude. I dropped my drinks and he just stood there and said “next please” he was in his 40s I would say.
It’s hard to keep up with store hours in these uncertain times. Keeping this in mind l wasn’t surprised to find that Dan Murphy’s was closing at 8pm on a Saturday night…. A little disappointed but not surprised. What did surprise me though was the way l was spoken to by a man who appeared to be security standing at the entrance as l stopped in my tracks and said to him, ‘Oh no, am l too late? ’
It was 7.58pm as l looked down at my phone to do a time check. Perhaps this security guard looking person used to work as a nightclub ‘bouncer’ back in the 80’s…. Perhaps that would explain his rudeness to a potential customer? He barely looked at me and certainly made no eye contact and I was dismissed with a curt reply of ‘Yes’, said in a tone reminiscent of the growling 80’s bouncers as they announced ‘Members Only’. Seriously people, it’s all in the delivery and it’s not really that hard. Just disappointing Dan.
Friendly staff always ready to help in choosing fine bottle as per your requirement or taste.
Started for shopping in.
Online shopping can be done
Large store, great selection very helpful staff whos there to help but not crowding you. Well set layout, nice interior design.
My partner and I went into the new store after purchasing dinner around 21: 40. The new store looked amazing as well as a the range of alcohol.unfortunately that is the only thing going for the store there was no greeting when entering the store when 3 or 4 staff were standing around the counter, then my partner wanted to buy a few bottles of wine one was for dinner then a few more due to the selection in the Premium wine selection. This is where the main issues staff are aware we are looking at the wine but they are more interested in closing the store to getting a sale (s) my partner is wanting to buy a couple of bottles of wine that were locked behind a glass window, he is looking around for staff to see if they were helping any other costumers he sees that we are the only people in the store while we are waiting to see who is willing to come help we hear an announcement go off "10 minutes till the store shuts please come to the cash register". My partner laughs and says i would if i could get the wine i want. So my partner and I have now been standing in the store for 10 minutes getting served by Casper and his friends because the staff were more then happy to talking rubbish with the security at the front desk. We finally leave the store as we weren't served and the worker say's "have a good night" my partners response was "you too I loved the service tonight. " All it takes Dan Murphy's is "how can i help you today? " if that was asked you would have an extra $1500 in your cash-draw but the question wasn't asked so it stays in my pocket.
