Dropped into this place by accident but it turned into a very pleasant surprise! Was just expecting to find uber expensive bottles of liquor but Sean was so friendly and knowledgeable we couldn’t help leaving with a bottle of gin. Best Dan’s in Aus

I’ve never had such a horrible experience in my 20 years of shopping in this store. As I always do, I greeted the person behind the counter with a casual “Hi”. I saw her writing something while I was approaching and she saw me and put her pen down. I thought she was ready to serve me but no. She went on to her personal PA and told the other staff of the change of price of a certain item. Then she started scanning my purchases. Up to now she still hasn’t said a word to me. She didn’t ask if I have a Dan Murphy card. She also didn’t even ask if I would be paying by card but she just assumed and put it as eftpos. But for some reason, the paywave wasn’t working. She didn’t pay any attention to it at all. I ended up swiping my card. Receipt was printed out and she put the receipt on top of one of my purchases and just left it. While I was putting my purchases in my own shop bag, one of her staff member just entered the store and she was happy chatting with him while the whole time she didn’t say a word to me at all. No greetings, no thank you. No nothing. I have never met (met would be the wrong word here), as a matter of fact, came across anyone so rude in my entire life. I think she might be the manager. If she is, then something needs to change here. Imagine if that’s the culture she leads for a store like Dan Murphy Prahran.

I placed an order for on the 8th for 2 hour delivery, haven't heard anything since. I've contacted the store 6 times now to be told they'll get it to me asap. Still haven't got it, absolutely rubbish service.
EDIT: I cancelled my order and ordered via BWS, came within 30 minutes.i recommend everyone use BWS/Jimmy Brings over Dan Murphy's as their customer service is atrocious.

Had a very ordinary experience with click and collect and there service team lacked any care factor.

What do you say, great price, great range, great service. It's why they have cornered the market.

Very large and well-stocked bottle shop, also very competitive prices, particularly for members.

A fantastic selection of wines and spirits, and received wonderful customer service from Raphael, who was super knowledgeable and great to deal with. Will be back

Prices are still very high. There are no real Christmas bargains to be had. Volumes sales in the next 5 weeks with Christmas, New Year and Australia Day. Therefore a significant price drop would have been helpful for those having lost their jobs not just those that were still earning maximum wages

Tried on line ordering. Not great. Missed their day and was delayed 4 days. Pity because I generally like Dan Murphy. This included a failed delivery when no one was home, but we were!

Plenty of stock of everything. If I can't find it at nearby Dan's, this one would typically have it. It's typically huge store but has the most amount of people checking in to see if you need help.

Possibly the worst on line service I have ever experienced. I ordered $460 of products and after 2 days I received an email saying my order was split and coming at different times, 3 days after I ordered I get an email saying an attempt was made to deliver but unsuccessful and the next delivery was in 4 days, which means it is 1 week after I ordered. I am isolating and can’t go there myself, it would have been appreciated to have been told that delivery will take a week. I would have chosen another bottle shop.
I’ll never shop at Dan’s again. Hopeless!

I love this shop on the middle of Chapel St.in Prahran. It has something for everyone with a great assortment of wines, beers and spirits. It's a good sized store with awesome staff and a front and back entrance.

I'm writing this general Dan Murphy's review on their first flagship store as there is no other general review page.
Ordered online, delivery window 830am to 12: 30pm, I then get a wasn't at home at 1: 12pm notification.
Please make it so we can collect unsuccessful deliveries from somewhere.

It's not that difficult to simply have a staff member answer the phone at 12: 10 on a weekday.is it? !

Dan Murphys is the best store to get alcohol of choice. They have my favourite fortified wine. Always shop here when visiting Australia as NZ does not offer a store like this.

Probably the best bottle shop in Melbourne! A high range of options, particularly in great affordable wines.

Don't take your partner here if they're female. The security guard couldn't even say goodbye but loved starring at my partners chest the entire time. Disgusting behaviour, extremely unprofessional.

Went to the small boutique section across the road from main store. Male staff member asked male customers if they require assistance and completely ignored many female customers. We all walked out and took our business elsewhere.
