Damso Korean BBQ

Food quality is superb. Service was great. Probably my favourite Korean BBQ buffet place. Price is also very cheap for the quality of food and service they provide.

I was 13 and they charged me for an over 13 because I didn’t have an I. D to prove it. They forced me to spend 20 dollars more. Don’t go here

My husband and I visited Damso for the first time tonight after discovering it through from map. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Korean BBQ place near my residence. Damso is an excellent choice for those new to Korean BBQ or seeking high-quality simplicity. While my partner typically only indulges in Korean BBQ, we rarely dine out due to reservations about its cost-effectiveness. Particularly noteworthy is Damso's accommodating approach for patrons with dietary restrictions or those seeking variety over sheer quantity. This is especially beneficial for individuals with specific preferences or restrictions on the types of food they can consume. Even for those who appreciate an all-you-can-eat option, Damso stands out by providing a diverse selection that prioritises variety over sheer quantity. This thoughtful consideration caters to a broad spectrum of tastes and preferences, ensuring a satisfying dining experience for all.

I appreciate the straightforwardness of Damso's offerings: meats, rice, sauce, and Kimchi. For those desiring variety, a la carte menus are available. Notably, the consistent quality of the meats exceeded my expectations. Unlike other all-you-can-eat BBQ establishments, Damso maintains a high standard throughout subsequent orders.

The staff were exceptionally courteous and attentive. Their proactive assistance stood out, with attentive observation and anticipation of my needs before I approached them. In contrast to the common experience of hesitancy when seeking help, the staff at Damso displayed a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. I felt at ease approaching them for anything.

Although I rarely leave reviews, the outstanding experience prompted me to consider sharing my positive feedback. Damso offers unparalleled value for a high-quality Korean BBQ experience in Melbourne. We will definitely go back again.

I didn't know there was a Korean barbecue restaurant near where I live, but I searched on Google and visited. The quality of the meat was better than I expected, and the staff were very friendly. If you want to experience a variety of Korean food, you can go to a place with a wider variety of food, but if it's your first time experiencing Korean barbecue, or you want to barbecue like my partner and I, but you don't usually eat other foods, or if you want to try different types of meat. If you want to eat but feel that the buffet-style Korean barbecue with a large variety of dishes is burdensome due to small portion sizes, Dasom is the best Korean barbecue restaurant to take care of those issues. I think it would be difficult to find Korean barbecue of this quality at this price in Melbourne. The staff were very friendly and took care of everything before I even had to ask, so I had a very comfortable meal. Above all, I really liked that the venue was neither too big nor too small and we could eat quietly and comfortably while talking.
P. S. I was debating whether to tell you after the meal or not, but all the other meats were good, but the pork bulgogi seasoning was a little too spicy for me. I think it would taste better if it didn't have that slight capsaicin sauce taste:) I enjoyed it.

Had the all you can eat meat for a good price - quality was so good and service was amazing

The place is not suitable for the person who has problem with breathing. I have been there on Friday, the food and staffs were ok but the air was terrible. The vendors were old and couldn’t work properly (or only work in that quality). The smoke was all over the place especially when it’s cold, they closed the door and yes not even a gap of fresh air could sneak in. It was TERRIBLE.

Compared to the price and the place, it isn’t matched with $50-70 for person.

We walked in on a Saturday night without a booking and were seated immediately. Ordered the combo set and some drinks. The food came out really quickly and service was on point. The meat was fresh, and good quality, the only thing I would fault is that it is a gas burner, not coals but they do stick some coals under to give it the BBQ flavour. But overall a good KBBQ restaurant to have on rotation when you’re after Korean BBQ. Will have to come back to try the Korean fried chicken which I couldn’t fit in this time!

Got the combo bbq for $98. The serving amount is small, and very bland, meat did not taste fresh only reason a 2 star because the waitress was great with service

This restaurant is Chinese owned and run, not Korean. The food was okay, but definitely not authentic. You would get better kbbq at many Korean owned bbq places in Melbourne.

Homemade Kimchi and ample Soju, bbq scissors and extra Gochujang, real Korean beer and complementary tiny soup - For those already familiar with the glorious ritual that is KBBQ, Damso is well worth your time.

Lovely staff happy to help those who may be unfamiliar with the bbq process and, most importantly, the food is delicious!

Fantastic food with friendly service! Loved the barbeque the most. The place is cosy too. If you plan to come for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, remember to make a reservation if you have a big group.

The choice to eat at Damso was a quick, impromptu decision when five of us needed a place to celebrate in a hurry.

It was a Tuesday night and we were thrilled they were open until late. With a quick call, we reserved a table for five.

We ordered the pork and beef package good for four, choosing spicy soft tofu for our soup, and a whole serving of Korean fried chicken. We were treated to an unforgettable night of great service, overflowing side-dishes, delicious meat on the grill that seemed endless for five, hungry adults, a hearty and chili-laden soup, and a large serving of fried chicken served with cabbage slaw. This was heaps better than other Korean BBQ places we'd been to.

The 3 side dishes were kimchi, mung bean, and pickled vegetables, refilled when asked. They were spicy, savoury, and sweet contrasts to the marinated meat, which was delicious as pieces came hot off the grill. The fried chicken arrived, heaped generously with a side of slaw, and it filled us up as we supplemented everything with rice.

The meal was supremely delicious for the price, the experience seamless as the server sized out our portions very well. It was a night to remember as the server kept our glasses full and accommodated our every need. She even went so far as to help grill our food before we took over.

One of the cooks eventually came out to say hello and offer some sweets. This was exceptional service in the heart of Elsternwick.

In all, it was an intimate, incredibly enjoyable experience that all five of us raved about as we walked out, our bellies full. Thank you, Damso BBQ for a great, celebratory dinner we won't likely forget!
