Dainton Brewery reviews
64The aftermath of an amazing feed and we aren't done yet. Love the new menu and love Mandi with an I. Or maybe it's a Y. Either way.she's the best server and you can forget all the rest cause Dainton's beer is the best.
Excellent beer for more adventurous types. Food is great, but very expensive for a hoagie. Shame cause it was a great night
Last week we organised a group of 20 to go down to Daintons. We were excited as we are long time fans of a fair few of their beers.
The experience was mixed. Their covid safe ordering was basically this- order with the waiter (try doing that in a loud room with live music), and then keep track of your spending as they don’t split bills. You couldn’t order at the counter, even with a mask. No online ordering. No QR code ordering. Well as expected this meant at the end of the night all the calculations had to be made and everyone had to make sure they had kept a running list of the whole nights expenses. That’s an average system at best.
On top of this about half of the staff seemed frustrated or overwhelmed, like they themselves were struggling with the way ordering was being implemented as well, and this could’ve come across as rude at times.
I will say, the food was fantastic and quick.
The beers were hit and miss. I buy their can releases and let’s just say this is the first time ever I have preferred their cans over fresh from the tap. Their tap beers were not quite right.
I really wanted to love my night at daintons, and to be honest if I wasn’t with good friends, I would’ve had a rough time. I think it will be a while before I come back and give them another try.
Have been a few times now
Positives first
Pizza that I order is always really good!
And comes out extremely quick
The beer is hit and miss
Sometimes it’s great craft beer, but I often get what tastes like the bottom of the keg when I order off tap and it’s hard to distinguish which beer is which
The service was disappointing for me, the staff made us feel uncomfortable and seemed frustrated the whole time (not all staff were like this, a couple of the guys were really nice!)
I live around the area and my suggestion for anyone visiting the Carrum Downs/Seaford area is to visit Mr Banks brewery
Hopefully next time I visit daintons I can add a couple of stars to my review, because it has great potential…
Had an afternoon free and some visitors from out of town, checked out this place based on previous reviews. I'm no beer or wine expert, but was a good place to spend a few hours with drinks and food. I love a bit of art and enjoy seeing behind the scenes on on breweries and this ticked most of my boxes.
Love this place! Amazing vibe, delicious food, Beers are out of this world and the staff are always friendly & accommodating.
This place was abysmal. I had made a booking/table reservation, arrived, and went to the bar to order. Meanwhile there was multiple staff behind the bar chatting, joking about how theyre always giving out free drinks to ->>> lady over there. I stand in line. They proceed to serve customer after customer who are obviously behind me in line.
After being completely ignored over and over, I began to wonder if I was literally invisible. So myself and my partner left.
This is one of only two times in my entire life I have walked out of a place.
I was extremely excited to come and try Dainton, but left bitterly disappointed.
Didn't like the wine we were served sent it back, not expecting anything in return and waiter came back with 2 beers so 'replace'. As we were wine drinkers we gave the beer a try but neither of us finished it.
Went to pay the bill and the beers were on it, questioned it with the girl at the bar and she was extremely rude and clearly didn't want to be there and said it's not her fault our palette didn't agree with the wine they served, which it wasn't and we were happy to pay for it, but we didn't order the beer were also changed for.
There were 6 of us there so was a decent price on the bill.
Nice place, some nice service but unfortunately it just takes 1 to put you off a return visit.
Amazing staff, delicious beers and a great venue for our little ones birthday out the back where they had the play space!
Love this local brewery.
Some of the best beers I’ve ever had. Do yourself a flavour and try the jungle juice
Planned with my mate a late Sunday evening hang out and sure the name lived upto the expectations. Very contemporary brewery style settings and more american style, which do serve good food for a fact besides just.
Beer: Tried Hazy IPA, Jungle Juice, West Coast and Apocalypso Beers which were fantastic. Hops are pretty balanced and no bloating in stomach which is fantastic. Highly Recommended to have Apocalypso (Pint) as it's solid. Do check with staff for when they take last Orders as they prefer to serve Pots or middy, due to time constraints (something unusual but okay)
Fries: Yummy fries, can't say they could have done anything else.goes good with.
Mediterranean Pizza: Very well made pizza and actually lives up to the name. Garden veggies and base pretty good (assuming if they make their own pizza base)
Nashville Spicy chicken Wings: Spicy food lovers like myself had asked for super spicy wings and booiii it had us going, hot, spicy, cooked red to perfection. Man we're sweating and it made us unstoppable to eat and drink more. Thumbs up Guys for chugging out these wings. I'm so planning to come back and had these wings again.
Jalapeno Poppers: Such an understatement when you think about then but that's the twist, it tasted so damn amazing that it perks your mood. Just perfect taste and temperature. Wow is simply the word to describe it.
Staff: Friendly and easy going and considerate.
Would suggest them to serve in jugs too as that can be a bonus to have merrier time (just a thought) Highly Recommended this brewery, would be returning soon with my wolfpack. Keep up the good show guys.
Awesome beer, absolutely awesome.
The food is horrendous. Wings are 90% batter and the cheese on the fries tasted like it was synthetic.
Please provide some food options on par with your great beer.
Would swap smokers area and play area around. Not great with all the smoke right in the middle.
Unfortunately can only put one picture at a time, a pity as a great place to visit and fantastic staff, ales and food. Could be me but would love to add multiple pictures for all to see.
We had our Christmas party there and it was $30 a head. It was rubbish food. Not worth the money. Deep fried stuff. Some ridiciculously hot spicy ball things that no one could eat. Yuk. Only pizza was fresh. The dessert came on a big tray and no plates to eat from just napkinds. Bloody hopeless. We had 2 waitresses. One was really nice and the other one was so cranky and stressed. We were afraid to talk to her. I would never go back.
If you want to have decent ‘American’ food, do not visit here - brisket was beyond average and the jalapeño poppers were not jalapeño poppers. I’m actually embarrassed for the venue thinking what they pushed out food wise was acceptable.
Awesome beer and perfect venue to drink it. Or buy some cans at your local if you're not around.
Excellent beers, and a great food menu. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is the table service was really slow, and I was only able to get one beer in my brief visit! Be great if we could order from the bar or via QR codes (in the current climate) to minimise waiting to order a drink.
Great beer selection as you'd expect from a brewery. Food is good, pizzas a highlight and they do burgers, share platters, etc. Try to get a seat in the beer garden where they do live music at night. You can sit inside right next to where they brew the beer, though some might find it a bit noisy there.
Such a shame. Aggressive staff trying to push the patrons out at the end of their 2 hour allotment. If only their stale unimaginative beers made up for the bad experience. If you drink a can of Dainton beer from dan murphys etc.and assume it must be better from the brewery you are wrong. This is the worst craft brewery I have visited in Victoria. As a honebrewer I've thrown better beers down the drain than this mob serve to unassuming patrons. Think wisely before visiting.
