Cyril Callister Museum - the man who invented Vegemite reviews
12Wonderful collection of Vegemite memorabilia. Liza is such a friendly enthusiastic person with great plans for the museum. Well worth stopping by
What a little gem! Absolutely worth a visit even if you're just passing through Beaufort. Stayed in Beaufort for a weekend, and saw a sign for a Vegemite museum further up the main street, so had to check it out. A must-see for any Vegemite lovers, or anyone interested in the history of Australian icons. It's a small space, but filled with a lot of fascinating things, set out so well. Really wonderful to learn more about the history of Vegemite and Cyril Callister from the friendly lady at the museum, and great to see the journey of Vegemite over the years through various items. A great selection of Vegemite themed merchandise for reasonable prices too. Loved it. Will be back next time I visit Beaufort.
What a cool museum, lots of quirky things to look at and hosted by a kind and knowledgeable staff member.
The owner was incredibly friendly and passionate, and took time to show us around the collection! Worth stopping off in Beaufort to visit:)
Really fun museum, in a good space! Hope they can continue to grow. Was really interested in the MRE ration from world war II, would love to see Steve1989MRE have a go at it. The Vegemite paintings of Beaufort landmarks by local school kids were really good! Loved seeing them included in the exhibition. Definitely recommend giving it at go.
Cute merchandise for vegemite lovers and interesting historical display pieces. Liza was kind and knowledgable. A must visit if youre passing through Beaufort.
Found by accident but very glad we did. Lots of memorabilia from yesteryear and a passionate lady to tell all about Cyrill and his magic invention, Very informative and entertaining
Was so pleased to stumble across this museum and gift shop on the way to Halls Gap. Fun gifts to buy for family and friends and memorabilia to bring back fond memories from childhood, who doesn't love vegemite!
It is good to see history of vegimite as it was hidden gem in Beaufort. If you stop in Beaufort worth going to see.
Wonderful to see our iconic Aussie VEGEMITE and its inventor Cyril Callister being recognised with this fabulous pop-up Museum in rural Beaufort (Victoria) where Cyril grew up. Such a lovely tribute to both man and product.
We had a great time. Liza was very engaging and her knowledge of all things Vegemite and Callister is excellent. A great collection and display as well. Well worth the visit - we all came away informed and enlightened.
We're Happy Little Vegemites since we visited the Cyril Callister Museum in Beaufort, Victoria. So glad someone has the foresight to put the foundations into creating a museum to this iconic Australian product.
I have the feeling that this will be a classic "from little things big things grow" story and am looking forward to following the museum's progress.
