Custom Built Fences

We got a beaut fence built yesterday at home address, we absolutely love it. Darko and Sam came up home and installed it, job well done in just over an afternoon Thankyou Lyn and Pete

Very professional outfit. The guys are machines. Very quick to replace a good 10m or so of fence. Done in less than a day and the results are immaculate.

Unfortunately our experience with Custom Built Fences has not been a smooth one. We should have placed more consideration onto these reviews before we chose to go with them!
- Got sold on the fact we would have someone managing the overall process, but we never got allocated a construction manager.
- Brickwork is sub-par. Mortar has large cracks and holes throughout.
- Brick cleaners have left acid burn all over the bricks. I had to engage another cleaner myself to try and remove some of the discolouration.
- Steelwork took over 17 weeks to get installed. I appreciate covid caused delays for everyone (we also built our house during lockdowns, so no stranger to delays), however it was the total lack of communication that was more frustrating. For example, apparently the type of fence toppers we selected were delayed in shipping (fair enough), but I wasn't told until I kept asking what the delay was, and I wasn't given an option to change my selection to something easier/available.
- Multiple times we were told a date for trades to attend, and multiple times no one came (again, communication?)
- Lastly, we are now 4 weeks post fence and gate completion, and the electronics of the gate are malfunctioning and the gate won't open/close properly. There is no clear way to make a request for fixing this, and I am not getting any response from the company.
If you are reading this, please come and fix my gate!

In summary, I'd be looking elsewhere if you want a smooth experience.

Fabulous experience with these guys so close to Christmas, where the pressure is on everywhere. They dealt with the labyrinth of permits for us, organised the required permits and kept me up to date with the progress. Once approved, they were out within the week to build my fence and instal the automation and security. They were extremely professional and polite, and their attention to detail and workmanship was brilliant. I can not recommend these guys enough, so much so that we are getting window shutters from them next year as well. Thanks Darko, Vic and Mel and Tracey. Great job, the fence has been a valuable addition to our house.

My husband and I are delighted with our new front fence. You delivered well above our expectations. We know the permit stage was frustrating for us and you guys but that's councils for you! Once it was approved everything went up in 6 weeks. Would highly recommend you guys if people want to deal with professionals that know their stuff.

I am extremely pleased with these folks. They have been very patient with me and all. They handled every step of the process with very high level of professionalism. Each of their worker is not only polite but highly skilled. The products that they used including the gate motor and pedestrian gate lock handle, are of high grade. My neighbours have nothing but praises for the way the work was carried out and the final product. Well done Darko. I have no hesitation recommending you to my family and friends. Top Notch job! I was worried that with the lockdown our fence would be delayed, however these guys got their act together quickly. Informing us that they have Covid19 policies in place and are able to deliver. And deliver they did. Thanks for the added security and peace of mind from all at the Wallis family

The team did a great job. Excellent Customer service. End product looks great. Installed on time. They also showed great problem solving skills when the council was putting up objections over building on easements Would highly recommend them.

Employed Custom Brick Fences to build our fence. Unfortunately for us this was the worst decision we have made. Custom Brick Fences made multiple mistakes and with each mistake bricks had to be cut out and the fence rebuilt in those sections. In the end the fence was not compliant to the design we had. Nick the construction manager was an arrogant individual and very rude. Darko the owner wasn't much better. He was poorly organised and his sub contractors really have the run of the mill. This was evident as Nick was allowed to continue on the job despite all his mistakes.

Little did I know when started this (what I thought) simple project how complicated some builders made it. I was blessed to meet up with Darko who simplified the whole process and gave me a no fuss, stress less process.
This group is the real deal. Thank you for your great work.

Love my new brick Fence. We called several people but most just did the brickwork and we needed our own plans. My partner and I were busy with our first baby arriving soon, so it was a delight to have a team that did all the work inhouse so we didn't have to deal with heaps of trades.

Darko and his staff were great to deal with throughout the entire process. Very knowledgeable. Even helped me with the permit when there was a issue with the council. Installation crew was great. Had my job done on time and was flawless.

Darko, Jordan and Mel have been an absolute gem to deal with. Communication might not be the best, BUT THEY GET THE JOB DONE! I’m happy with the quality of the work and the cost was competitive. I’m glad that I have engaged Custom Brick Fencing to construct my front fence as I have been ripped off by other dodgy trades people who appears to be so genuine and kind, takes my money and never finish to work. I can’t thanked Darko enough for the support and understanding he has provided.

A warning to any potential clients: do not engage with this business.
They built fence to a poor standard with many issues still outstanding.
I would look elsewhere if looking for a good fence builder.

Custom Brick Fences were incredibly professional. They kept us in the loop throughout the whole permit process and despite Melbourne's terrible weather/storms in recent weeks their team still managed to get our fence built and finished. Would definitely recommend to others looking at building a fence!
