Curry Vault Indian Restaurant & Bar reviews
61This is the hidden gem in the city. I always enjoy going there and best thing is their politeness. Food is too good you will be welcomed by free papad with mint sauce then you can order your best food.
Delicious food, quality service, affordable price, great environment, all combination in one place Curry Vault.
Nice venue and staff, but my curry was spicy but with no flavour whatsoever - I've never experienced that with curry before! My partner's meal was good though. Guess I'd go again, but wouldn't have the first veggie meal off the menu (can't remember the name)
This used to be my regular and I looked forward to returning with a group. From the initial phone booking where the person couldn't repeat the 4 letters in my name, I was noticing some differences.
On the day, I arrived on time and was seated with my group a couple of minutes behind. Menus were given and time given for a drinks decisions was provided. I ordered a Solo and repeated it to the waitress, only to be given a soda water. It was then replaced with a solo after pointing it out in the menu.
Then we were seemingly forgotten, the waitress didn't return and as we sat with closed menus, a waiter walked past and started to collect the menus. After reaching for my menu, I asked if we could hold on to it, to place our order. They were all put back out again.
That same waiter then returned a few minutes later to take our order without issue. We ordered entrees and mains each.
My entree of Samosas arrived, then 5 minutes, 10 minutes and still no entrees for the rest of the party. We followed up and another 10 minutes later, their entrees arrived. I then asked for mine to be reheated. I also asked for our mains to be prepared and brought out ASAP as we'd already been there 50 minutes by now.
Mains were promptly served on the same plates as our entrees but I'd given up at this point. Countless visits over the years and 2 years since my last and I won't be returning unfortunately.
Nice food, great service and good selection of wines. Chicken chilli and momos were amazing, curries were great. Highly recommend this place.
I insist on dining at this place every time i visit Melbourne. The location, ambience, presentation, service - everything is top notch.
And the food is simply devine. If they had a branch in Brisbane, they’d be killing it.
Absolutely just loved it great food. Definitely will go back there it's in my favourite. This restaurant is one of my favourites. Food came out quickly great staff.
I recently went tri curry vault for a pick up lunch. I ordered the Palak Paneer with rice (you can’t go wrong with this dish). I went back to the office to eat my food and it was bland! It had no salt (lucky they have salt in my office). It definitely feels rushed and no care at all in the dish. The texture was watery like they used water to reduce.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant AT ALL.
$21.90 for a watered down Saag Paneer is very expensive.
I should have read the reviews before going here.
The location itself is gorgeous (Bank Pl off Collins) but I feel like an wasted my money as the food and flavour is a massive disappointment!
Also, 0.85% surcharge on orders is a joke!
Food was absolutely delicious, good sized portions to share. They have a bar selection as well. Staff here were extremely polite and friendly. Absolutely worth a look
Very ordinary food, service and atmosphere although the place was busy on a Thursday night. We had the banquet and although the curries were OK the entrees were very ordinary. The chicken and fish entrees (tandoori) were dry and not very nice. On the positive the kingfisher was good as was the naan bread
Worst indian food - good for people who have no taste for indian food. We took biriyanis which was just a mix of rice and blant curry and only thing that we enjoyed is the coke they served.never going back
Indian restaurant only for non Indians. I ordered chicken biryani, when order arrived it didn’t resemble chicken biryani either by looks or taste. Food not suitable for Indian, staffs are very friendly.
Entrees weren't the best. The fried cauliflower costing was very different. No flavour or spice. My goang fish curry was okay. Service was ok also.
Visited the other night - I ordered a Dahl Mahkani, Garlic Naan, Rice and Chicken Tikka (4 p.c).
The Chicken Tikka was well flavoured, did not show obvious signs of food colouring, cooked correctly, and was served simmering.
The Dahl Mahkani was Ok, some of the lentils and beans were a bit tender, perhaps had not been soaked for long enough. There was also a strong tomatoy flavour. Was one of the better Dahl Mahkni's I've had and would give it a 7/10, and would order again. Serving size was a bit small but I was greatful for this given I was dining alone!
Service was great, complimentary starters and was checked up on several times:)
Excellent food, service and ambience. Chicken Momo, Chiken Lollypop, Kashmiri Naan, Goat Curry are some of the many great dishes - and some of these dishes are not available elsewhere.
Highly recommended!
Very average food, slow service, expensive. Only one person serving. One chef and one kitchen hand and they are managing a big restaurant. Unrealistic setup. Over rated.
Enjoyed the Paneer Makhani, it was rich and creamy. Very British Indian like of flavours. The garlic naan was cooked to perfection. Service was good, food cake out within 25 minutes. The samosa looked great but filling inside lacked flavour. Overall, nice dinner.
*** Unreliable & unprofessional ***
Ordered 3 times for delivery
#1 - forgot the rice
#2 - order was "on its way" then mysteriously cancelled at the last minute
#3 - lunch order was delayed about 10 times, called them at 4pm to hear some random excuse and was told they'll check & call back. No call-back and order was cancelled after 15 minutes without any explanation.
We ordered a take away recently from this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. It was not tasty at all. The onion bhaji went very hard and the samosas were completely blend. There was no flavour in them. I would not go there again.
Best food ever i had staff very nice and professional. Thanks for your delicious food. Highly recommended
