Great course, but terrible golf.
3 groups on every hole. Waiting on every shot.
Spoiling otherwise enjoyable day.
I expect the club got there money

Curlewis Golf Club's new accommodation pods are great value, especially as we accessed their Winter Cheers 50% discount, which included drinks vouchers x 2. The pods are modern, and a very comfortable king bed, with all the mod cons, fantastic attached ensuite, all amenities provided.fridge, safe, hair-dryer, etc. Lovely little balcony with a view of the lovely golf course, golden canola fields and the bay beyond. The room is a little small but fine for a couple of nights. Very convenient for us as we attended a wedding at the nearby Leura Park Estate winery. Very reasonably priced Spike Bar for meals early till late plus option of higher end dining at Claribeaux. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Great new clubhouse. Was in there yesterday waiting for the golfers to come off the course and ordered a coffee whilst I waited. The service has declined. My newspaper stuck to the table. The clubhouse wasn’t overly busy there was a table of 6 and another table of 4 and there were a few tables that had dirty plates and were left uncleaned for over 20mins. After 15-20mins I had to go back up to the bar to ask them where my coffee was as they had forgotten to make it. The till still had my receipt of payment hanging off the till and the lady apologised and made it straight away.
When the golfers came in we moved to a bigger table, two people had the inside golf magazine open and they both stuck to the table.
Also a bit disappointed to hear from a few members of the lack of empathy shown by the management for members who have been long time members of the club and were suffering serious illness but, were unable to pause their membership. Understand the club has a waiting list for new members but, it wouldn’t cost them anything to pause these members memberships and bring a new member on at the same time. What happened to the great club that cared about their members?

Great to see that the sticky tables have been rectified from the review above 6mths ago.
Perhaps bring in a Happy Hour in the Spike Bar between 4-5pm on a Wed or Sat, provide a better dining menu in the Spike Bar for dinner as Members don’t really want to pay $40-50 for a Steak or Rabbit in the Restaurant every week and want more than $9.50 for a bowl of chips for dinner. Move the TV screens so people can watch them properly without the sun in their eyes. A screen of tvs on a wall would be great for sports viewing. Also would be great if you could see the golf course view whilst sitting in the clubhouse. Bring back the Friday 9 hole Chook Run. Subtle changes could bring back the golfing clubhouse feel and maybe some of the car park members would start coming into the clubhouse instead of going home straight after they have finished golf.
And the rough doesn’t need to be that rough, it’s causing slow play it shouldn’t take 4.5hrs to play a round of golf. It could also become an OH&S issue if golfers are looking for golf balls in the long grass and get bitten by a snake. Yes we should all try and stay on the fairway but, we’re not all single figure handicap golfers and want to enjoy a round of golf. You also would not be happy as a visitor to pay $50 for cart hire when the carts never have any water in the ball/club washer, the esky’s in the cart are grotty and not cleaned and sometimes the carts have not been cleaned properly and still have food wrappers and rubbish still in them.

Our bike club pulled in today, Fathers Day for coffee on our ride. Even though the staff were really busy, they coped with all of us with great service & coffee! Thanks to all at the Golf Club Cafe

Well this course and facilities are second to none! From the practice range to the club house I thoroughly enjoyed it and the golf course is unbelievable you can easily see that it deserves it's top 50 ranking, thanks guys.

Cannot fault the course overall. Was lovely to play. Generous fairways. Easy walking.
Great condition. Quick greens. Nice on the eye
However, it is located beside a noisy busy road most of the way. Took too long to play (4and a half hours). Avoid ladies day Tuesday. And for 75 bucks, it's overpriced

Excellent golfing experience - the course still has some growing up to do but still very challenging. The food and wine offering is good and service very good.

We stayed one night with our toddler after spending a day at the adventure park.
Everything is so beautiful!
So clean and the view of the golf course is so refreshing.
Manager and kitchen staff went above and beyond to make us a late night dinner and deliver to our room as our daughter was asleep and we couldn’t go down to the restaurant.
We recommend Curlewis 100%!

Thank you for your service and a beautiful stay.

Great course. In good condition and quite challenging. The new clubhouse is beautiful. Having played a few times and really enjoying it, myself and a friend decided to book 18 with a kart teeing off around 2: 40. We were told the kart needed to be back by 6: 30. By 4: 20 we had completed 3 holes, and it was the slowest round I've ever had. I know it's a busy time of year, but we were unlikely to finish 9 holes by 6: 30, let alone 18. We left and did receive a full refund, which was nice of them. But when I asked why it was playing so slow, I was told there were 250 currently on the course. It seems like they are overbooking whilst the area is busy with holiday makers. So my advice would be to book early or be prepared for a round lasting 7 hours.

Great club house, nice looking course but seems to be set up to penalise the average golfer a bit too much.

Course is in very poor condition and close to $100 for a round with cart when there is no clubhouse or facilities is way too much. Fairways like concrete and very slow greens. May have spent millions on the new to be opened clubhouse but the golf course condition is not a top 100 course right now.

Curlewis has really come forward I leaps and bounds since the club went into private hands. Today was my first trip back in several years and the improvements in the course are staggering. It was always a pleasure to play but mor so now. Add to this the updated clubhouse open - stunning view over some of the course. Accommodation on course is nearly open too. The course is in great condition and the changes that have been made really make this a must visit.

Food and service was good. Our meals took a while to come out but the manager was kind enough to offer a voucher which was a nice gesture. Will return. Kids loved it.

Course under renovation, miss hole #1 ans #2, this will be a great course when all the contruction of the clubhouse and resort will be finish at this first quarter.
Challenging but its within a very tight competition as so many golf course near bu Ie Queenscliff/Swan Islan, Portarlington and Clifton spring is within proximity from here.
Will be back when its all finish

Came here and the clubhouse is under construction which is fair enough but the state of the course was not. The tee boxes we like concrete and so we’re the fairways. I think I snapped about 5 tees because the ground was as hard as rock. Definitely not returning any time soon. I was extremely disappointed from a “top 100” course.

Lovely place for lunch, golf practice or mini golf. Nice little lunch menu. Loved the pan fried calamari. Worth a visit if you have never been.

Not having been to other golf clubs for comparison, I can only say this did what it was meant to and did it all quite well. The driving range had the digital touch that allowed you to track shots and play team games. The staff were friendly and helpful. The burger and chips I ate was tasty and a good size. The beer was a bit expensive though, $12 for a pint of ale is way too steep for an ordinary beverage of this ilk.
