Croxton Roosters Charcoal Chicken reviews
57Chicken was fine if a bit dry. Roast vegetables were soggy. Service was incredibly unfriendly. No smiles. They seemed a bit angry with each other and with the customers.
I've only tried the roast chicken, I've had Lilydale chicken before it's always good, but this one was the best I've had
Chicken roll was very dry. Had to wash each bite down with water. Ask for extra Mayo, seemed very cheapskate with the sauces. Dim sim had maybe 1/4 of a teaspoon of soy on it.
Good place just ask for extra sauces.
Easy 5 stars.
Genuine love for Croxton Roosters.
Half chicken and salad is my go to. Perfect every time.
Best charcole chicken shop in Melbourne hands down. The guys are always cheerful and happy to chat and the chips.you'll not find better anywhere else!
Best chips in the city. Double cooked and super crispy. Chicken rolls with gravy if by yourself. I haven't cooked a roast chicken at home since discovering this place
The best chicken in the area. The chicken is full of flavour. I come all the way fomenting area to get some chicken, and it always hits the spot.
Great service and friendly to customers.
Lovely and good variety salad goes along well with the juicy, yummy charcoal chicken.
The cleanest charcoal chicken place that I've been.
Amazing value, so much food for your money. About average quality. I had the chicken parma with chips and greek salad. The parma was above average, the chips were OK, though the Greek salad was below average, mostly cucumber. Overall, considering how much food you get for the price, I recommend this place! I will be back.
Best chips in the lands. Crunchy and tasty.
The chicken is about as good as you can expect from a charcoal chicken place.
The burgers are a bit average, but they're definitely not bad, and most importantly they are well priced.
Pro tip: buy the food in the shop instead of through menulog/ubereats cos the prices are way cheaper. E.g. The 1/4 chicken and chips is $17 on menulog, but if you buy in the shop it's $8.50.
And that's where this place earns its 5 stars from me: the price/value. The food is fine / good enough, the prices are the real MVP
Did I mention I like the prices

Went here on ANZAC day for take away dinner and they were getting smashed (30min wait on chicken). The chicken was nice and juicy fresh off the charcoal grill. The large chips are huge and the slaw and potato salad are nice.
Great chicken, we got a Hawaiian pack and a small coleslaw then took it to a nearby park and ate it. 10/10 would do again
Love this place, fast and friendly service. Chicken is 5/5 as well as having a range of salads to eat it with. Classic charcoal chicken and it always comes out juicy, whether you get a breast or thigh piece.
Best Parma salad and chip combo in the area! Delicious and great value for money. High recommend!
Depreciated from 5 to 3 stars.mg most recent outing ended with soggy chips and more bread than chicken in Parma.
Still priced cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.
Hands down the best chicken salt chippies in the area. The chicken is good, but you go for the chips
Best charcoal chicken around!
Amazing chips as well, and the service is spot on every time
Value for the price paid. Chicken had amazing charcoal smoky flavour.
Burgers are nice.
I will definitely be back.
Charcoal Chicken was very nice, good flavour and moist, even after the ten minute walk to a relative's house. Very disappointed however, in the lack of allergy information available. I would have thought being in Thornbury they'd be all over it, but no information on egg use in any products they use. Couldn't recommend egg free products or guarantee even their fish batter was egg free. We will just have to plan to feed our youngest from another source if we plan to buy from them in future.
