Cricketers Arms Hotel reviews
26 Time to get up to date with current smoking laws. You can't have ash trays out in a food services area.
Also drinks are overpriced and the wine selection has always been poor.
A group of us, from Adelaide, over for a Crows V Demons game at the MCG. We were early, so popped in here for a drink before the game.
Now, as a domesticated ex-pom, brought up in the knowledge that going into the wrong pub in the wrong colours on matchday can easily be a once in a lifetime experience, I'll admit to some unease around going to what looks, from the outside, to be a very basic, even dingy-looking city boozer in the very heart of Melbourne territory.
How wrong can you be? Inside is a cosy traditional pub, a welcoming vibe and friendly staff. A bar at the front, complete with a pair of classic video game machines and a restaurant area at the back, we didn't eat there but the food looked like good quality pub-grub.
An absolute gem of a place. Five stars for reminding me what pubs used to be.
Have frequented this pub many times, but unfortunately my latest experience was so bad that I’ll likely never return. The supposed 2IC behind the bar was so rude that it was beyond belief that she could work in the hospitality industry, let alone hold a management role. The security staff advised me they have received other complaints about her, which is hardly surprising. It’s unfortunate that a managers poor attitude is likely impacting on the culture of the team behind the bar, and more importantly the patrons overall experience.
Relaxing pints before the Collingwood game.chose this venue as Collingwood football club has no venue open around 5.30 on a Friday night. Thank you Cricketets Arms.lovely staff.
HOT STAFF!
The manager is sooooo sexy. I've even seen him help an old lady cross the road.
Nice easy meeting place for a coldy or meal before heading to the MCG, just around the corner from Richmond station
Visited here prior to going into tbe MCG on boxing day. Was a little surprised at the barmaids attire but the beer was cold
I left my work bag here but Hugh got it for me. Carlton dry on tap was as I remembered it; Cold and tasteless but it was my choice
Great local Richmond pub to enjoy a counter meal and cold beer before a game at the MCG. Food offering is basic, but done well. I had the steak sandwich today, with Balter IPA beer.
Very good customer service and very polite and friendly staff and well set out great place to have a couple of drinks with friends before the game.
Great place, great location, great staff!
Perfect spot to host drinks before or after a game or even host a bucks! Staff were amazing and accommodating. Pool room upstairs is quality!
Close to MCG. Went to watch the footy but half the TV's weren't working, the toilets on level 1 reeked and stunk up the whole floor
Last place you can still pretend it's 1993, from the people that frequent to the beer they sell.
Don't change
Top place to meet up with friends before heading off to the MCG for the footy. Great service, even when packed out. Cheers
Good place for a beer before the games st the mcg or punt road oval. 2022 update R1. Pretty busy but still a good vibe.
Always a great pub for a beer pre and post a game at the G. Get there early as it will fill up at big games. Great staff.
Such a good pub with a great ambience. Even better to go here after watching your team win at the G. Staff are nice and accomodating, drinks are reasonably priced. There are large pool tables upstairs and a decent smokers area too. You can trust easily that you’ll always have a great time at the mighty Cricketers Arms
Friendly staff. Impressed how they assist all patrons. No matter if very busy.
Noticed Foster’s larger cans in one of the fridges. I wonder if they get bought?
Excellent spot to go before and/or after an event at the MCG.
Only issue was bar staff can get a little too busy talking to each other rather than keeping an eye out for patrons waiting to be served.
Cheap and cheerful pizza and an awesome pool room/table tennis table. Staff are super friendly and approachable
