Creswick Woollen Mills reviews
46Great products but had a weird experience with the sales staff. I bought a lot of items on that day and was entitled to receive two discount codes in my rewards program. After a few sneaky remarks they agreed to apply both codes but when I left the store and checked my account I saw that only one discount code was applied, even though they pretended to make two transactions to apply two codes. Weird feeling of being cheated and lied to, hope this extra $20 was worth it for them, but I'm not planning to shop there again.
Excellent customer service, well stocked store with wide variety of products.
Enjoyed visiting the site to get a touch of historical experience.
Rip off products! This is not purely australian product what a waste of a hell lot of bucks!
Well, the clothes here are beautiful. But you need money. I just wanted to feel what $600 worth of jumper felt like! Turns out it feels amazing! Had to put it back on the rack though
Had the opportunity to visit the mills and shop. Served by an informative and very helpful young lady named Selena who helped to find the perfect outfits. We were also served by Kate who was also very helpful.
The mill was beautiful to see and the story behind the machines and wool was exceptional. Loved seeing the world's longest picnic rug also.
Entered a competition to name two beautiful lambs and two alpacas.
The day spent there was fabulous.
Unfortunately the animals are not in the shop anymore, they are trying to bring them in, takes time and costly for them.
The dresses are high quality. Lots of history in the place. The staff are super friendly and very helpful
Friendly and helpful staff, we did the self guided tour and found the history of the Mill very interested
Really poor quality wool blankets, sheds like no tomorrow, smells like factory chemicals, not great for a cot blanket. Really disappointed
Covid has taken its toll on a lot of businesses and Creswick woolen mill is no exception. We went here for the animals and the tour for the kids but were disappointed to learn that the animals are no longer kept on the facilities. The machines in the factory were not working/switched on.
The mill is a factory outlet and has a shop on premise. We found it to be very costly factory outlet.
The onsite cafe was also closed: (.
What could have been a great experience for the kids ended up to be a boring shopping store.
Self guided tour was interesting but no longer has alpacas, staff were friendly and helpful. Emma went out of her way to show us products Shame the factory was no longer working as we wanted to show the kids the making of items.
Love this place. A great range of woolen products and selection of clearance items. Interactive and educational with the open section/corridors to check out the machines and wool and woolen products process
Scam company who advertise a $20 first order code and then they will cancel the order on you without reason and sell your data onwards
Lovely staff and very high quality woollen products that are well priced. Definitely worth a visit.
Great quality and service. We bought a number of lovely items of clothing.
Interesting history and factory tour.
Well worth a visit. Thank you
I bought the double Alpaca Quilt.the 2 and the 3 that you can then clip together to make a 5. I thought it was a great idea, as I suffer chronic pain. So no more shaking the quilt, and it is then an all year quilt.
I did not use it straight away, as I did not have a Doona Cover. Now that I have.and just over a couple of weeks I have found that:
Sadly, there are not enough clips put on it. It then shifts easily. Also, the clips do not stay in place, and I find them undone when I get a Carer to open the Doona Cover, because something is going wrong inside.
Also, some of the buttonholes are not sewn properly, and they will tear quickly. You are given some extra clips, and that is a must because they just fly away when they come apart.
A great idea, but very poorly made for it to actually work.
I would suggest twice as many clips, and find some clips that are not going to come apart so easily. Also, it is sooo difficult to find the holes for the clips. SO, unless you are a good sewer to double up the holes, and can add more holes for the extra clips, and then find clips that will not come apart so easily.as in while they are in the doona cover.definately not worth the money for a great idea that does not follow through
And it is really really heavy to hold to put a doona cover over when the 2 of them are put together.
We came late afternoon on a weekday and the machines were quiet. We took ourselves on a self guided tour of the mill reading their well presented information boards that explained their history and process. Amenities available for guests and visitors. I bought a couple of items as souvenirs. That this is the only Australian woollen mill still in production in Australia is quite an achievement. Ample on site parking. Wheelchair accessible. A large range of stock available for purchase in their store.
Really interesting & amazing experience to walk through the history of Creswick Woollen Mills. What an amazing man Paul
Ryzowy was, coming to Australia from Poland with nothing, after losing all his family in the Holocaust. He was very innovative, especially later producing alpaca wool & it's great that we still have an Australian woollen mill still operating in 2021.
Staff are great, I'd be happy to pay the extra cost if the products if they were made in Australia. It's pretty deceptive. I couldn't find any products made in Australia. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Excellent day out with grandkids feeding the alpacas and goats. Petting the lovely baby lambs. So clean and informative.
Really interesting self guided tour, but sadly the alpaca are not on site due to Covid, and the cafè is closed, so after the tour there isn't much to do. Call ahead to see what's available.
