Cornwall Park Stud reviews
8 The farm manager kick us out at 10 o'clock and threatened us with a gun
Update everything has been sorted a complete misunderstanding
I love keeping my horse agisted at Cornwall Park. Large yards, easily accessible, well maintained arena and round yard.
Never new of this awesome place until our other arrangements fell through due to bushfires in Gippsland. Very impressed by the friendly staff and homely feel of The Ranch. Apart from air traffic, you would have no idea you are camping so close to Melbourne. Picture perfect scenery. Great mountain bike riding, running, relaxing, plenty of room to kick around balls and spread out, or join in with others.
This is off the grid camping with a few added luxuries. The pool was awesome and refreshing on the hot days. Expect delays for showers and toilets at peak times/long weekends and a walk or drive to get there. Daren and Alex are investing a lot into this ideal escape location and recognise the need for more bathroom facilities, but as this location becomes more popular, so too will the demand for facilities.
Enjoy your time, avoid the stress - bring a porta pottie, and bucket/washer to clean with and you'll be laughing. Bring a jerry can for water, and top up at the servo about 12k's away in Melton. Our family will definitely be back.
TLDR: Good - Great open spaces for self sufficient camping, nice scenery
Bad - two toilets /showers for entire site, roads are off road, staff didn't really know what's going on, expensive for what it is
Camping site very much still in development, roads are covered in large rocks and bottomed out the car a couple of times whilst driving, most visitors had 4x4s.
The facilities are pretty poor, waiting around every time you want a shower/ use the toilet.
This place boasts that they claim they are Melbourne number 1 horse agistment facility but this is far from it, for the prices you pay you would expect it to be but they don’t know what the running here, multiple times I had my horse put in danger by wild parties followed by young idiot drivers doing burnouts up the main driveways next to the main horse paddocks, there is absolutely no thought of the animals or there owners that are paying a fair whack each month and it’s dangerous, hopeless to get maintence done on fences or anything that is urgent, environment there is horrible and I wouldn’t recommend anyone bothering wasting there time
This place has the potential to be a great campsite. Brilliant views and huge amounts of space. Felt like we were alone and 200 people were camping. The thing that lets it down is the lack of toilets and showers, there are only 3 of each. Perfect place if you are self sufficient.
We stayed here with a large group (45 adults and children) for 5 days over New Year. Every person we interacted with was incredibly accommodating and easy to deal with, helping us select a site that would meet our needs as well as have minimal impact on other campers. The site was beautiful, with enough space for all of our tents, cars, trailers, our kitchen and a space to relax. Thanks again Alex and Darren from Cornwall Park!
