Corlam Kitchen reviews
72Order was taken and nothing was said about the wait time. It took nearly 40mins for the food to be ready. Poor service
Visiting this restaurant for the last 6 yrs. Authentic Sri Lankan food and good quantity for the price too. Run by a friendly couple. If you are not a spicy eater, be ready with some dessert.
Delicious food with very friendly service. Reasonably busy during dinner but we can still hear our conversation, not too noisy due to high ceilings. Murtabak & Sri Lanka Beehoon are yummy
Authentic Sri Lankan and Malaysian foods and milk tea! Generous serving of the dishes for very reasonable price! The owners are always happy and friendly! Thank you!
Busy, rustic and good value.
Yes, hoppers, curry and rice.
BUT also excellent Noodles, Nasi Goreng and Other Malaysian favourites.
Why stress in the congested Kingsway when you can saunter in to this little gem? Better value and arguably better taste/ quality.
Very delicious spicy foods. It was so yummy & well satisfied with the food. Also the best Teh-Tarik in Melbourne. Highly recommend to visit.
This is my weekly takeaway place as the food reminds me of home. Great value for money at $12.90 for three curries and rice. The food is always delicious and the portions are beyond generous. I bring my own takeaway container as I'm environmentally conscious. The lovely Sri Lankan lady who owns the place is happy to accommodate this and always has a kind word and smile. The curries are amazing and very authentic. If you enjoy Indian or Sri Lankan food this is definitely worth a try, you wont regret it.
We cane here for lunch and ordered the rice with 2 meats and vegetables. We ordered the fish and chicken curry with spinach and roti prata, curry fish and wadeh.
Both dishes were delicious.
We ordered teh tarik and I have to say this is the best teh tarik in Melbourne. Very authentic and takes me back to the teh tarik at Kayu restaurant in PJ.
I saw people having the string hopper specials and mee goreng.
Will definitely come back to try them.
Delicious food. Spicy, so if you aren't keen on heat, ask for the chilli to held back 'not spicy'.
The decor is sparse but you can see the locals love the place and the owners have pride.
Had to wait 25 minutes for roti with curry and chicken briyani which is not.looks and taste like soggy spiced up rice with very little chicken.
Awesome authentic Sri Lankan food. Great quality for little money and huge portions. Most dishes naturally gluten free. Lovely service and atmosphere - feels like being in Sri Lanka on a holiday.
Our first time had our lunch with Family at the Corlam Kitchen, First Impression is Best place to go if you are craving for local Singapore and Malaysia indian or malay food. Their dishes are authentic and nice. The staff is really helpful Very fast service and not much of a waiting time. Their Teh tarik and roti prata was too good. I enjoyed Yummy fish curry Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent Malaysian food at great prices. Once you tried, definitely you’ll get back
If you enjoy spicy south asian food, should visit. Good value for money and large menu. When it is busy, getting your food take can take long time, still I find myself returning.
Corlam kitchen is the best Malaysian Sri Lankan restaurant in all of eastern suburbs. Marie and Jo are lovely and the food is always delicious.
One of our favourite place in Melbourne to enjoy a good Sri Lankan and Malaysia food. We went for dinner last night. The service was excellent and food was delicious.
I had been there 3 times now. The food has been always delicious. They cook with passion. Their different Hoppers is worth a go.
The food was very nice, and the service was excellent, however the atmosphere didn't really suit the food.
We had lunch at about 12 pm on Sunday, and there were a few tables occupied. I had the 2 meat and 1 veggie with rice for $14.90. If you decide to have seafood, there will be $2 extra charge. The food was OK and could be better. Currently under staffed. The mamak rojak looks good and authentic. Will be back to try other options.
I would have said food was average if I had stuck to just the roti and fried fish. However I made the mistake of getting a char kuay teow to go. The rice noodles were all broken into tiny pieces. The prawns were like dried shrimps and I couldn't even tell what the meat was. They were all dry tough lumps of something. I normally hate to waste food and would finish anything that's edible. Suffices to say that box of char quay yeow wasn't edible so I had no choice but to bin it. Service was very ordinary. No welcome greeting or friendly smile. I found it hard to communicate with the waiter. Perhaps Malaysian food isn't their speciality so maybe stick to the Sri Lankan if you want to take a chance.
Don’t let the odd ranch slider front door fool you, behind that door is amazing flavour, kind family owned smiles and service. The food was so amazing that I don’t have images to share! Would definitely be coming back and bringing more people! This place has and amazing value, and a very homely vibe!
