Cook & Young Booksellers

Wow, what a shop for readers of the hardback tomes called "Books". Reasonable retail prices and a huge selection. Worth a visit.

There's always a wide range of books to choose from, and the staff are always nice to be around! I'm a manga reader so it's selection of manga books from obscure to popular is really cool to see:)

The shop assistant was very helpful in deciding what book to choose for my granddaughter who is turning 9 in March. I wanted a book too and the shop assistant was helpful there too. I will be going back again very soon to pick a good for my grandson's birthday in April. I had a lot of fun there

I visited today and I have to say this bookstore is actually pretty amazing. I was happy to see that basically every shelf in this bookstore is packed with books, and they are mostly shelved with their spines facing outwards (at least the Motivation, Health and Business sections were) which means there are more books on offer AND more stock! This is compared to somewhere like Dymocks at Chadstone where they will shelve the book with the cover facing out and with space in between which means there's less on offer (last time I went to Chadstone they had very little stock). No sure why this stood out to me so much, but it was very nice to see.

I found copies of books I already own that are in a smaller format (i.e. Versions I hadn't seen before) which was nice as I've recently become a big fan of small format books or books that are small enough to throw in a backpack without adding much weight.

I would say the prices here are also better than Dymocks. I think that the pricing might be between Dymocks and QBD. If you are a book lover this is a store you need to take a look at.

Excellent selection of books and I found one book I could not find anywhere else for my daughter. Very helpful folks working there so very happy.

Bookstore that is well priced and has an amazing set up. Would highly recommend for books, gifts, stationary, cards and more. Staff there are great and very friendly.

Love this bookstore, I was devastated when Dymocks closed but I am so happy Cook & Young opened there instead. The staff is amazing, the store looks incredible and the book selection is awesome!

Beautiful new store, great range of books in lots of different genres and super friendly (and helpful staff). Great place to find a gift if you're not exactly sure what you need:)

I went to the Geelong store today and had the best experience. I had to pick up wrapping paper and cards for my nieces birthdays to wrap gifts. Annie, the sales assistant couldn’t have gone out of her way to help me anymore. She was awesome. It only did she help me choose from their gorgeous paper selection she wrapped my present for me (bought in another store) made them look spectacular. What a generous thing to do. This is why I love shopping in Geelong and Annie should get a promotion.

Wonderful to see this excellent new bookstore open at Southland. Bought 4 books on my first visit there yesterday (one novel, one autobiography and two modern history books). In a world where bookstores have generally been closing in recent years, it is great to see a new one (and a good one) open. I wish them every sucess.

Didn't go or talk to them but talked to HO re ordering online. The young woman was super helpful & I should receive the book in post tomorrow Wednesday 22 January 2020.

Love browsing in Dymocks and often find a book or two that I want to take home. The staff at Southland are friendly and helpful.
