Excellent value for a meal or snacks, quick service and always the complimentary slice of lemon.

Most of the food is pre-cooked. Fish is dry, potato cakes were limp yet undercooked. Chips were good. It’s pretty bad overall and not cheap. Such a shame as it’s attached to a great fish monger. I’ve been 5 times now hoping they will get better but alas it’s not to be. Will not be going back.

We ordered fish and chips for 3 people and it seemed to be over cooked to start with plus it did not taste fresh at all. 90% of it was thrown in the bin. I also purchased fish from the retail side. I’m hoping it’s ok for dinner tonight. The girl at the counter had no seafood knowledge at all. Pretty disappointed considering it’s Conway and they are well known for fish. Very disappointed

Their Filipino staffs are very friendly, especially Jen and Nana, you can really see that they are sincere when talking to customers like me and they are always smiling. Such staff should be taken care of. The fish and chips that I bought earlier were also very good. I went here for the second time. The first time I brought a voucher and I came back because my family also liked it. All in all 5 stars! Super delicious fish n chips and good service from the filipino staff!

Just a few months ago the fish, potato cakes and chips were much, much better. Don’t know what’s changed there but 3 recent orders of potato cakes have ended up in our bin. Last nights fish bites were soggy rubbish, chips were dry and our serve of fish was undercooked. The potato cakes again had uncooked batter and were way too thick. Not going back again.

The shop for wet fish is great with whole fish, shell fish and pieces including Sashimi; a range of other Greek and Italian foodstuffs also. The FnChip shop next door is not the best.confusion between the shop and the take away here.

Bought swordfish from Conway's twice recently
. Extremely disappointed both times. Not fresh & over priced. Some parts of fillet were ok, some parts of the same fillet tasted fishy & off!

Worst chips in area, no contest. Abysmal and consistently terrible. They must hardly ever change the oil - on top of that, they pre-cook everything and refry it when you order. I would rather eat a cigi, than eat these. Please try them for yourself.

The BEST seafood chowder… massive chunks of salmon and fish and prawns… yummo! I am definitely going back for more!

After going to great lengths to travel a long way to buy 2 crayfish for a special dinner, sadly those crays quickly ended up in the rubbish because they were simply inedible and absolutely tasteless.

I can't convey how disatisfied and upset I was for 4 days thereafter as I struggled to have a Conway's person call me back regarding this problem.

When I did finally get to speak with someone able to make a decision, I was told no refunds are offered after 24 hours. I said my 3 previous phone call messages should be listened to and then, there shouldn't be a question about a refund! Moreover, photos were taken of how dreadfully dried up the insides of the fish were.

After travelling back and 'standing my ground' I finally obtained a refund albeit, it came reluctantly! Forget about the expensive travel cost I incured and/or the lack of any goodwill compensation.that was flately denied.

After seeing the photographic evidence, hearing how the evening was destroyed, and me explaining about my time and travel costs, you'd think that somesort of compensation would have been offered.

My opinion? ; Firstly, if I could've provided a ZERO Star Rating, I most certainly would've. Secondly, as a business, Conways appear sucessful in-spite of how they go about it but, then again, it's easy to suggest "it's probably how this product came in from the supplier" (which is exactly what was said to me!). Finally, they clearly don't put much emphasis on customers ending up very, very unhappy when purchasing their expensive seafood.

My advice? ; Save yourself the time, money and drama!

Need some fish for a lunch BBQ at work, The fish shop near me put out at the last moment what was I too do? Thank God for Conway's the staff were fantastic they had what I wanted cleaned and ready highly recommended giving them a call for what you need

A long operating shop selling fine seafood and with a great area to enjoy freshly cooked fish and chips.

This restaurant has a nice setup and offers a wide variety of food.

Unfortunately for my experience I ordered the fish and chips set, some fried calamari and a scallop.
All the seafood was not fresh and the chips were half cooked.

I ended up feeling unwell over the weekend.

We came to get fish and chips (we get all our fresh seafood from here and it's incredible) and were told the fish gets cooked in advance (the morning) for the whole day. So fried fish is just sitting behind the counter ALL day on racks - with the lowest RIGHT down by the floor (we went in at 4: 30pm) and when we specified we wanted a freshly battered and fried fish we were told no, that we had to have one of the ones sitting there since the morning. Gross. We left. The service wasn't rude, just unbelievable that a fresh fish monger can't serve fresh fish in their hot fish section on a 40° day.
Again, Fresh Conways is second to none so this review is not reflective of the fresh section.

Best seafood in Melbourne, every Xmas and just when we feel like it we shop here! Highly recommend them.

Best seafood by none. Christmas is the best place (open for 36 has so you can buy seafood with no queues)

The fish and chips 0/10 what a waste of money the staff don’t know nothing about fish and chips the owners have just put on staff and that’s it no experience. The shops cleanness was very poor flies everywhere.quality poor the food was warm not hot hopefully I don’t get unwell today. The owners don’t care

Staff was bit of an introvert and we had difficulty understanding and ordering.

That said, once we received the for, we forgot about the interaction.

The flake was bang for your buck delicious, chowder was okay, but wouldn't order again, and chips were spot on.

I'm definitely coming here again. Have already recommended it to my mates.

The selection of fish and seafood never disappoints. I go here all the time to get fresh fish, oysters, prawns & caviar.

Ok its very good fish and good ambience, nice mix of mediterránean foods too and everything you need for your fish (sauces, oils, lemons etc.), also - excellent frozen spanikopita saves me making it! It is a litttttle bit overpriced is the only reason for 4
