I had the pleasure to deal with Meg & Phil and their team on 2 jobs at the same place. First the vehicle crossover and later the stencilled driveway. On both jobs, Meg has been very competitive and jobs were finished with top quality.

Meg is not the typical tradie you would expect, she's a very attentive business woman and she will show you why your job is in good hands.

Meg and the team were exceptional from first contact. Meg was extremely responsive and went above and beyond in dealing with the Council and SouthEast Water (she obviously has a great relationship with the City of Glen Eira and even helped us with the permit application and approval). We're very happy with the vehicle crossover - SouthEast Water pronounced it "perfect" and the Council was happy with how we reinstated the crossover and footpath to satisfy the asset protection permit conditions. Our crossover was not an easy project, being on a main road, with essential services running through the nature strip and having to fit in between a Telstra pit and a council tree.

Amazing service from Phil and Meg. They redid footpath panels, reinstated gutter and footpath, placed a small driveway and did some work inside the property pouring concrete for our deck base and water tank base.
Everything was done when they said and how they said. These jobs were done over a three different call outs and no issue with anything! They dealt with council directly as well. Meg was lovely to deal with and answered all our questions!

TL;DR: If you're after a concreter who is responsive, trustworthy, honest, reliable and decently priced, you need not look further.

It was a pleasure working with Meg, Phillip and the team on our concreting requirement. Despite the small nature of the job, Meg was responsive from the get-go and so very organised! Having dealt with a lot of contractors, I was quite impressed with the level of knowledge, professionalism and thinking displayed by them.

We organised everything via email and all correspondence from Meg was clear and concise. On the 1st day of the job, we met onsite to go through the requirements one last time and finalise any questions the team had with the layouts. On pouring day, Meg was everywhere ensuring that all was going to plan. But Phillip and the team knew exactly what they were doing and did a bang up job of installing the ground socket of our Hills hoist as well. Then once the concreting work was done, they did a good clean of the areas they could and apologised for the areas they couldn't as it was too near the fresh concrete. It's very rare to come across a team like that.

Our bricklayer came to check the fence foundations later the same day it was poured and you know you're onto a good thing when a brickie says that was a very professional job and was relieved it was all done very well.

We love our new exposed aggregate driveway, it’s all neatly finished off and the rainwater drains perfectly - which was a really big deal for us.
Meg has great design ideas, gave us plenty of information on what would suit our house and the opportunity to look at finished jobs, so we could see colours and mixes.
Nothing was too much trouble, they checked in at every stage, made some adjustments as we went along, were always on time, sent photos of progress if we weren’t home, cleaned up after each day - no stresses at all.

Despite our job being a bit more complicated than the average crossover, Meg and Phillip sorted things out efficiently and we were very happy with the final job. These guys are exceptional for concreting and so many other jobs. They are the best in town. They are your one stop shop and can provide the complete package. The customer service and workmanship is exceptional and perfect, from start to finish. Having my own business I know how difficult it is to find decent contractors. Meg and Phillip provided a quote with very short notice and completed the job reliably and efficiently, without anys hassles. What I liked about the team most is that they don't cut corners and no matter how unreasonable our requests were they did not say 'no'. Meg and Phil and their team did an excellent job in installing 2 council crossovers and 2 street frontages of footpath at our property as required by Council. They communicated and arranged everything and liaised with Council including arranging permits and the end result was excellent. During their work, I was overseas and they provided regular photos and updates so I was aware of the work being completed as well. Concrete Gem Services provide an honest, professional and excellent service to their clients. They gave us good solutions and had the right expertise and experience to complete the council work. We definitely would highly recommend Concrete Gem Services and we have no hesitation in using their services again!

Concrete Gem - and Meg - have been great from start to finish. The quote for our drive and crossover wasn't quite cheapest, but it was competitive and clearly broken down so we knew exactly what we were buying. Meg was super responsive, super helpful and straightforwards to deal with. A week before the work was due she came over to check and everything went ahead exactly to plan with no unforeseen extras. Her husband and the boys made a super job of the work to boot. Between them, they're a great team! It good to be supporting local, hard working family business and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Concrete Gem. If they're busy, it really is worth waiting!

Living in Hong Kong, Meg and Phil were found online. After being let down by a landscaper, we needed to find another one quickly to be ready for the open house inspections for sale within the next 10 days. They were able to transform the garden on short notice and in a very cost effective way. In doing so the selection of the plants was done via a WhatsApp group and progress pictures of work done were provided. They clearly understood the brief and delivered the desired outcome “To maximize the charm aspect of the garden on the property to get that emotional buyer”. The house sold at a great price on auction day. The new gardens was the most impactful spend in preparing the house for sale.

Meg and her team has done my crossover relocation, driveway, fence, side gate and pathways. They are my number one preference because they have done everything fantastic so far.
