Compass Pizza reviews
53What do you mean you don't sell compasses it's advertised on the window what do you mean only pizzas
Pizzas are good. Wait times for online pick up are unpredictable. Waited until 7: 10 pm for an order scheduled for pick up at 6: 55.
Lots of different types of Pizzas. Toppings were good, crust was a bit soggy on the bottom.
This place is SO CUTE! They have little booths that were perfect for a thruple (three friends). The smell of the wood fired oven, the sounds of the Mediterranean washing over you, and the adorable little candles, what an atmosphere. We loved the theme of a pirates adventure (Compass — get it?) ; it would be cool if the menu was more of a treasure map… maybe tea stained and with burnt edges. But anyway, i digress, what really made it a night to remember was the TABLE SERVICE. Chefs kiss (literally!). Personally I would make the wait staff the bosses! We loved the oil the fries were cooked in — it’s a shame that they didn’t offer curly fries though. The pizza was bellissimo or should i say swashbucklingly sexy! Thank you once again Compass.
Love the mushroom and blue cheese, truffle oil, pungent flavours, oily, messy, perfect special treat carbs and fat combo.
Have been many times to this place, and used to love the pizza and the salads here, but looks like there have been some changes lately. The pizza does not taste the same, and the salads have become way more expensive and smaller in the size.
Starters not value for money and not good enough to justify the price, 6 polenta chips for $10. Our Furiosa Pizza was okay, liked the combination of toppings.
This is a family favourite. We make a special trip to eat here and it’s always with it. Great atmosphere and the pizza is exceptional. The dough is so flavourful my kids even eat their crusts.
The food is magnificent, looks sizeable but is enough for one person. A great atmosphere too.
I had the very yummy compass parmigiana, comes with a very tasty large sever of salad and some French fries. Buetiful atmosphere. I love the use of suit cases on the walls. The night I was there there was some great funky 80's/90's music playing. Some nights they have live music.
Shared a couple of tasty pizzas at popular Brunswick East Compass. Excellent crust. I found the pizza too wet. Soggy inner from sauce. Salty and pumped with garlic. Good topping ratio. Service relaxed.
One of the best pizzas I have ever had in Melbourne! Located on the quieter side of lygon st, the vibes were amazing and staffs were super friendly. We had dinner on a Saturday night and there were live music. The marinara pizza was absolutely amazing. They also have a bar section for drinks. Would highly recommend for a great catchup with friends!
Oh dear! Beware an Italian restaurant with a culinary fixation with 'mayo' - bizarre.
As for the totally bland polenta chips (with a side of mayo) not even a whiff of salt or parmesan; and the hollow arancini (sitting in a puddle of mayo) quite a feat for Italians to desecrate this dish. However, the award goes to the drowned gnocchi, desperately dog-paddling in a sea of watery swill (water and mayo perhaps?) my tastebuds wept - lacrime di disperazione.
My Italian DNA was unable to discern any famous elements of 'gusto'. A travesty, an affront, the decimation of great tradition.
My vote is formaggio, not for mayo!
Compass Pizza (Brunswick) is a great local restaurant. I've been eating there for some time. The food has always been great, they have a great selection of pizzas, kitchen food and alcohol. And on certain nights they have live entertainment. The service is great and friendly. I walked into Compass Pizza Tuesday night and was greeted and served by Zoe and Carlie who did a great job. I don't know the girls personally, but l made sure l got their names because they have been doing such a great job, that l think it's nice for Zoe and Carlie to see their names on a good review. Anyone who's seen my reviews knows l don't write bad reviews, if l don't like a place l just don't go back. Compass Pizza is one restaurant you should try. Go in have a great meal and a great night. I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied. Stay Safe
Gnocchi and Salad was really nice. The pizza toppings were delicious but the base is a letdown.
Zoe is just lovely and their red wine is so good. The place is warm and romantic and the pizzas are layered with garlic which I love.
Great place, with a nice looking interior, great tasting pizza, a good selection of beers + wines, and incredibly friendly staff! Monday's are buy 2 pizzas get 1 free, so gather your buddies!
Great pizzas from tip to crust! Oh so tasty cocktails! Balanced and yummy pastas! AND as a bonus - live jazz on Tuesdays!
Amazing toppings on the pizza. Reeally delicious!
The bases however are bit of a let down, they don't taste fresh (maybe pre-made in bulk?), a bit dry, a bit burnt, a bit dense (almost like those plain bases you get from coles). Maybe if they were a bit lighter and fresh they'd be better. A shame though, as the toppings are worth it by themselves.
I ordered from here and unfortunately the pizza was burnt. Tasted fine otherwise but the burnt taste was a bit overwhelming. Disappointing.
