Just completed the Tassie tour and it was very well organised, great support team, great tour leaders, lots of fantastic riding, and I'll be travelling with Compass again.

My third trip with Compass and this year it was to Africa on their revamped Ultimate Africa 2023 tour.
Guides were terrific, scenery fantastic, roads were challenging (but not too much) and the hotels top notch (mostly, well this is Africa). Wonderful yet again to travel with Compass. They do proper Adventure Bike trips!

Review for 2022: Great tour, great crew, fantastic scenery, Compass delivered everything they promised. Can't fault their organization or commitment to excellence in creating and running the tour of Alaska.

My partner Sally and I have just finished the Ultimate South America tour with Compass and the experience could not be better. Everything was meticulously organised from long before we started right to the very end. Accommodation was always very comfortable and the food was something else again! Our fabulous tour leader JC and the wonderful support truck driver Juan could not do enough for us and were always up for any challenge that came our way. And there were inevitably some challenges on a 24,500km 100 day trip. Like the civil unrest in Peru that meant we could not ride in parts of the south of the country so undaunted, they hired a truck to transport our bikes past the trouble spots under military escort and then flew us to Lima to be reunited with our steeds. Or when Sally became ill and needed to be hospitalised in Cusco. In no time they had her booked into the best private clinic in town and well on her way to recovery.
But the real star of the show was South America itself. What a fabulous place. The wild and dramatic landscapes, brilliant empty winding roads, crazy traffic in the cities, incredible architecture both ancient and modern, teeming wildlife, wonderful culture and super friendly locals, I could go on but you get the idea.
South America is somewhere you must visit and there is no better way to do it than with Compass Expeditions. If 100 days sounds like too much for you then they have a range of shorter two to three week adventures for you to enjoy. Just get off the couch and do it! You won't regret it.

Patagonia Explorer 2023
Amazing journey with scenery which just got better and better. Trip ran smoothly as well organised and our tour leader JC and support driver Wilfred were totally committed to ensuring that we had a great experience. As a pillion it was great to be able to ride in the support vehicle particularly when road conditions were poor and enabled me to join the tour. A great trip which we shared with a great group of fellow riders and we certainly hope to ride with Compass again.

After finishing my fourth tour with Compass Expeditions over the last 5 years, it is an understatement to say that I enjoyed myself on this latest tour through Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Riding along rolling hills and twisting back roads through the Andalusia region of Spain, the Algarve region of Portugal, and the Atlas Mountains of Morocco was sublime. Three weeks of great riding, unique and interesting accommodation, scenery to die for, delicious food, and a top notch Compass Team, made this adventure one that I didn’t want to end!

As with my previous Compass Expedition tours to South America (Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina) and Kyrgyzstan, the organization, planning, and execution of Compass tours is excellent. The old saying that “if everything goes to plan, then it’s not an adventure” is true for most Adventure tours. Unexpected things can happen on an extended motorcycle tour, including weather delays, civil unrest, mechanical issues, and sometimes accidents. But the Compass team are cool, calm, and collect, with an innate ability to problem solve and get the group back on track, always with a smile and easy going nature.

One special feature with Compass Expeditions is the nearly all-inclusive nature of the Tours. Petrol, tolls, accommodation, all breakfasts, lunches on riding days (scrumptious picnic lunches!), and a good number of the dinners, are included in the tour price, which makes for easy budgeting for the tour. Just throw in your spending money and you’re good to go. Transparent tour costs, excellent home office support before, during and after the tours, and tour guides passionate about adventure riding, makes for a fantastic combination in a Tour Company. How much do I recommend Compass Expeditions? Well, I just booked my 5th tour for next year!

Cheers Jerry and the Compass Team, keep up the great tours!

I was the only 'Compass Virgin' on our trip - which says a lot about the strength of Compass's return business. So what makes a perfect motorcycle adventure holiday (as this truly was) ? The places visited and the riding are very important, of course, but it's 'the people wot make it'. By this I mainly refer to the staff: what a great bunch of chilled, relaxed but professional bunch they were. Jerry and his team couldn't have worked harder to ensure we were all happy. Most of this positive, down to earth attitude is to do with the nature of the Ozzies (and I am allowed to say this as a Pom!) who, I would say, are ideally suited to adventure tour organising - probably because living in Oz is one big adventure! Get this 'basic' right, though, and we the customers (the other side of the 'people' equation) can't help but react positively.and on this tour, not surprisingly, the cameraderie was great. So that's the cake.what about the icing? What about the bikes, the riding and the destinations? Sorry, BMW, but I don't understand why I would pay more for your bike when my Suzuki V Strom was so perfect. All you want for an adventure bike is for it to be comfortable, fast enough but, most importantly, bullet proof.and the Suzy was all of these and more. The riding was wonderful: thoughtfully judged but sufficiently challenging. Couldn't fault it.

Motorcycle adventure holidays - by their very nature - will never be the cheapest holidays on the market. So your choice of which company you use is crucial because a lot of your hard earned cash is at stake. That is why I unequivocally recommend a Compass Expeditions tour because it ticks all the boxes - and does so in spades.

Welcome back Compass - The June 2022 Alaska Expedition far exceeded my expectations, the raw beauty and isolation of Alaska was presented to perfection, and deeply appreciated by a close knit group of bikers who have returned home with wonderful memories, of the scenery, the new found friendships and the many laughs along the way. Special thanks to Jerry and Bayne for making it such a roaring success.

Iconic Australia 2019. Once I received the trip docs, I realized I was in over my head, but it was the adventure of a lifetime through rugged territory with an excellent group of riders and leaders. Jerry Cook with his assistant Brendon, did a fine job of getting everyone from Cairns to Alice Springs and then onto Broome. As expected, we had flat tires, smoldering trailer brakes (just from the rugged Plenty and Donohue Highways), spectacular crashes in deep sand. This is territory traveled by the sane on four wheels. No one died and everyone made it in one piece.

Know your riding skills for Australia's Outback. Be not enamored of the romance of the Outback. This ride requires focus on the road. Jerry tackled every challenge on the road and those presented by some of his participants. He has a great sense of humor which made tough going more enjoyable and he was always there for you. The food was good. Camaraderie excellent. The support vehicle a life saver. Know that many of us would be elated to pay the same price for an on-pavement tour with a little less off-pavement, maybe even on four wheels. It's a great trip.

Am getting on in years, so I will never get to do another the trip like this again. I thank RacQ and the excellent care I received at Mount Isa Base Hospital. They patched me up and got me back on the road, and Jerry was there. I will always remember and be thankful the kindness of the Australian people and the folks on our expedition. It was a great adventure.
