23 A Delightful Experience at The Common Room in Ringwood
I recently visited The Common Room in Ringwood (across the road from Yarra Valley Grammar school) and had a delightful experience.
The food options were not only visually appealing but also tasted like they were crafted with high-quality ingredients. The breakfast burger I tried was a delicious, leaving me satisfied with its flavorful goodness.
The cafe provides ample space, both indoors and outdoors, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite or a coffee catch-up with friends. The atmosphere is inviting, and the well-designed interior adds to the overall charm of the place.
While the quality of the offerings is commendable, it's worth noting that some items on the menu are a bit on the pricey side. However, the overall experience and the taste of the food make it a worthwhile visit. I recommend The Common Room for those seeking a cozy cafe atmosphere and a tasty culinary experience.
Our go to spot, definitely the best cafe around! Incredible fresh homemade food that is in front of you in minutes. Real barista made coffee. We recommend this cafe to everyone!
Edit: OMG GET THE MEXICAN BEEF! Best thing on the menu!
The Husband and wife owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. The staff they hire are equally amazing.
Every time I get the bill I feel I am being undercharged. The food is top notch and the coffee is delicious. I always leave with a smile on my face and full belly. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Wonderful little breakfast spot - especially if you have braved the 'drop off traffic' to one of the near-by schools lol. This place isn't overly busy due to the heavy traffic at breakfast time, but if you are in the area it is definitely worth the effort. While there are healthy options here, I couldn't resist the brekkie burger. This came quickly and was equally fast devoured and was absolutely delicious. Yet another wonderful brekky place in Melbourned.
Great little cafe with mountain view and nice neighbourhood ambience. My recommended breakfast dish is the Granola. It's always carefully presented and the mixture of nuts and fresh fruit taste amazing!
If I get a chance to grab this as a weekend breakfast, I know it's going to be a good day.
Very clean, good menu. A little bit on the expensive side. However, will go back from time to time.
When we went, their dishwasher was broken so everything was served in takeaway containers which was a shame. However we still enjoyed their foods and drink. My chai latte was really nice. Tried bulgogi roll which was looking amazing, love that they have Asian fusion menu. Whilst I like everything in the bulgogi roll, overall as a dish it is more towards sweet side. There is some kimchi in it which makes it a bit watery, careful when you bite it, so it doesn’t go on your clothes! I like kimchi too but overall as a dish I think something needs to be added to make it a bit more savoury or add a bit of zing. Also tried their breakfast roll which was really nice.
The cafe itself is looking modern, with great view of the hills. Price is on higher side as we weren’t full after the meal.
What a privilege to be at the Common Room on their first day of trading. The cafe is immaculate, preparing for the rush when schools go back. Congratulations to John and his crew!
My favourite cafe.
The staff are lovely as always and so are the new owners. Food is fantastic and always presented really well!
Lovely Cafe. I've dined in several times with my baby and the service is always warm and friendly. Always enjoy the chai latte. Great location with mountain views.
Lovely little cafe with inside or outside dining. Food was excellent - chili eggs and salt and pepper squid. Followed by Chai latte and cappuccino. Service was a little slow, but otherwise good. My only reason for marking it down was the noise! Diner’s conversations were normal, but the staff were very, very loud especially when greeting regulars. I will go again, but only when I can eat outside.
Our favourite local cafe! Food is consistently great and the staff are super friendly. Brekkie rolls and eggs benedict are delicious.
Such a fantastic local Cafe. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Favourite spot for a coffee, breakfast and lunch
We moved from Croydon to Seaford a few months and the Common Room is the one place we miss the most! It was our regular stop for the best coffee in Melbourne, and the Breakfast Burgers are an institution in their own right! And trust me.we joke only too often that we should drive back up just for the burger! The warmth and personality of Emma, Chris and their great staff is second to none and only adds to the feel good vibes this little Cafe offers. Cannot recommend more highly! Miss you guys!
Great small local coffee shop. Coffees are consistently great - judging by 50+ of soy caps my wife bought there over the course of the last year. Muffins are good, other pastry we tried is hit or miss.
I'm happy you guys made it through the lockdowns and we are much looking to enjoy your coffees in the future.
Absolutely delicious chilli eggs. Best I’ve had anywhere recently. Great coffee and very friendly efficient staff. First rate.
We love going here for either takeaway or eat in. Such friendly staff that always make it a great experience. Good coffee and delicious food.
Just had a coffee (okay 2 coffees) which were beautiful and smooth, also had the granola bowl which was delicious and hit the spot.
Friendly staff and good food what else could you ask for (aside of a winning lottery ticket) ?
Picked up a coffee on a morning walk with the dog food friendly service and the coffee was hot and well made.
Have cycled past this relatively new place many times, but only today got to sample the goods on a lockdown-affected walk between home and the supermarket.
It's a very lovely place! Really warm, modern feel to it, and the couple serving me (husband and wife owners, I assume) were happy, helpful and chatty behind their full, clear face shields. I love that their takeaway cups are fully compostable, and that they use/recycle empty milk cartons as carry trays.
They have the 'Skip' app service here, so you can easily order and pay in advance, which cuts down on queuing. Plus it means that every 10th coffee is free.
