I worked for Colmar Brunton as a telephone interviewer in 2002 so my experience is dated but I will share it FWIW.
If I had to use 2 words to describe their surveys, they would be "meaningless garbage". There were exceptions, e.g. A survey on AFL football which I enjoyed and was a good survey IMHO. One of the supervisors had a toy frog which he used to kick around the interviewing room, sometimes hitting people.
