Colman Antique Clocks reviews
12I would suggest to anyone that had problems with their Clocks or Watches they contact them at the store- I.found they were very helpful and honest - keep up the great work it was a pleasure to be dealing with you.
I called Colman’s watch and clockmakers on 22 March 2023 to explain a problem I had with my Sessions antique clock, with a view to booking the clock in to have the problem resolved. I was most fortunate to speak with ‘Doug’, who not only listened to my commentary around the problem but provided advice about how to resolve it and also suggested a clock enthusiasts club I could join. I was most impressed with his assistance and genuine willingness to help. In these days of decaying social fabric it is most refreshing to be afforded the opportunity to meet someone like Doug, even if just over the ‘phone. Based on my most positive liaison, I highly recommend anyone with a need in the discipline of clock repair etc.strongly consider approach to Colman’s clockmakers.
My Navitimer just stopped working less than 2 years after a full service by Breitling in Sydney. Michael and his team repaired it within a few days at a most reasonable charge. Highly professional and well recommended
Lovely shop and Michael is so helpful
Edit - 6/5* Michael and the team were able to fix my fathers watch before the Christmas rush and stuck to the quote. Really great chat with Michael as well who is so friendly, was great to pick his very knowledgeable brain. Will be back
Followed a recommendation of Colmans on Reddit to Mod my Seiko - Which turned out perfectly.
Turns out their deep expertise, comes from a history of servicing heirloom clocks.
They deliver an extremely high standard of watch servicing, repair and pressure testing. Your heirloom Jaeger-LeCoultre is in very safe hands.
Very knowledgeable and provides clear explanations. Great service at reasonable prices. The shop is full of fascinating heritage clocks and carries a good range of watches.
We had an heirloom, our French Mantel clock, completely repaired and restored to working order. It took a few months to repair but it was worth it. The clock needed a lot of work and it is now absolutely beautiful and back to pride of place on the mantle piece. Excellent craftsmanship! Thank you!
Michael Colman and his team are thorough, informative and very helpful. I’ve had several clocks worked on by them over the years and they’ve always been great to deal with. At present I have a clock being restored by them and though it’ll take 5-6 months to complete I know I’ll end up with a magnificent timepiece at the end, worth every dollar and the wait. Highly recommend Colman’s for all your watch and clock needs.
We’ve purchased watches from here and it’s one of the only places I trust to have any batteries replaced and/or have links changed.
They know there stuff and love sharing their expertise. They have a wide variety of amazing clocks and watches for sale. Customer service is great, and they will teach you about your pieces you bring in. Highly recommended for the expertise and experience.
Michael is one of the few people in the world I would trust with my circa 1705 month going grandfather clock. It needed some new bearings on part of the train which takes the massive thrust from the 25lb brass encased lead weights from the great wheel.
Michael made tiny bearing inserts from hardened bronze and fitted them to the brass plates in a way in which they are invisible except from inside the works. He is a craftsman.
And the clock keeps near perfect time, staying well within one minute per month. Not bad for a 312 year old machine.
I gave them a watch for battery change but they broke it instead and started saying that it was fake. My question is If it was fake why did they accept at the first place? I am not someone who buys fake watches or wears them. I paid $200 to a reputed seller and the person at the store kept on insisting that it was a cheap, copy and fake.
It was just that they broke it and kept on insisting that it was fake but in reality its not. The whole experience was very insulting, time consuming and demeaning. The watch had sentimental values attached to it as it was the first gift from my husband. The store could care less and were so arrogant the whole time.
Michael had such a bad attitude and acted like a bully. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone unless you want to have your valuable watch broken. I am putting a formal complaint about this business with ACCC now so that they can get their act together.
Amazing knowledge & service. Took in a limited edition ceramic Panerai watch and asked for some expert assistance re matching a ceramic bracelet. A puzzle that had evaded the likes of the Panerai Boutique at Harrods in London was solved at Michael Coleman's in 10 minutes. I am beyond thrilled & hugely grateful.
