Collins Coffee House reviews
69Perfect high tea experience in this beautiful place, located in a traditional building, classical and exquisite furniture, porcelain, nice, friendly boss and staff, they all warm and care what we need all the time, all food is so delicious and tasty, mocktail too, elegant environment with opera singer's wonderful singing. Overall, it's a great day in there with my parents, definitely will come back next time
As their corporate customer first time come to the shore. Was in the area and think might give this place a visit. Orders the tea and scones set and the finger sandwich. Got told in attitude that I can’t share the tea for 2, the manger/owner made it sounds like we don’t want to pay too much for the tea or we don’t understand their high tea culture? If you list on menu that everyone has order a pot of tea that’s fine. But telling off your customer isn’t the right way. Not recommend this place and I’ll not place any high tea order ever again. Absolutely horrible experience.
Beautiful setting in a traditional building that was once a bank. The service was perfect and the pastries a treat. I was able to exchange my Prosecco for a non alcoholic drink. The bread on the sandwiches was a little dry, but overall it was a great high tea.
Tried this place as they were part of the list of places to go for afternoon tea.
Overall experience was excellent.
Loved the ambiance which takes you back to the Victorian era.
They sat me in a nice cozy area.
As a single diner, the staffs didn’t make me feel left out, they always came to check on me and my thoughts about the food, always asking me if I need anything and all that without being intrusive.
All in all a pretty good place if you wanna enjoy a nice afternoon tea by yourself or a friend or two.
A very lovely little bakery set in a fantastic building located close to everything.
The high tea was lovenling prepared and presented.
The staff were on point, kind and funny.
Would recommend 5/5!
The atmosphere here is very warm and friendly. We were a party of 6 and Raffaele, the owner engaged us in interesting conversation while we were being served. Everyone was happy with the service, not to mention the beautiful crockery and the cafe's delightful sweets and sandwiches. It is definitely a place to recommend to friends and work colleagues
Beautiful ornate ceilings. Service very friendly.
High Tea was more than ample and everything made in house.
Tea settings old fashioned and suited the place.
Definitely a must try.
Fab tea and coffee house. Cosy, old world hidden gem. Traditional High Tea was delicious.
We so enjoyed our high tea in honor of our friend's birthday. The food is all beautiful and plentiful and Laura was so kind! We thought it was a great value too. Memorable day! We had one GF (celiac) and there was an upcharge but well worth it. Thanks for being so accommodating.
The traditional high tea is perfect.
All food is so delicate and tasty.
The pepper added in sandwiches makes it full of aroma.
The scone tastes delicious. I love the lightly sweet smell from flour.
The coffee and tea are also excellent.
All staff is warm and cares what we need all the time.
It is so fortunate that I have my first experience of high tea in Collins Coffee House.
The High tea was absolutely fantastic. So delicious and the servers were so kind. They handled multiple dietary restrictions flawlessly. We wish we could stay and eat all day! Thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful experience I had with my kids at Collins Coffee House!
Service, food, atmosphere! My kid asked me “did the Queen was here as well? ” ️ absolutely recommend and will back for sure! Thank you!
Just had the most relaxing lunch, sitting with my book and pot of tea in the beautiful surrounds of this coffee house. The sandwiches and freshly made cakes were absolutely delicious, and the staff were very attentive and friendly, offering up some suggestions for what to have.
Great little coffee shop with retro furnishings in a beautiful historic building. Great service and excellent coffee
Loved the high tea we had at Collins Coffee House. What a beautiful place and food was fresh and homemade. Just lovely. Would highly recommend.
Lovely high tea experience in this heritage listed building. Excellent cakes, and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and attentive staff. Looking forward to visiting again.
We enjoyed a delicious High Tea. Every sweet and savoury treat was delicious and the atmosphere beautiful. Service was pleasant and personal. Will definitely be returning!
Simply put. THE BEST 'High Tea' in Melbourne, served by staff that make you feel like family - Thank you Collins Coffee House!
My wife, Allison, and I have had quite a few 'High Teas', some very disappointing being nothing more than half-stale sandwiches and simple 'treats' served up with over-rated hype made by a, supposedly, world-class chef. PLEASE.
Take me back to Collins Coffee House!
Enjoyed high tea with friends. Service was great, food delicious, excellent coffee.
Venue was grand. Highly recommend
If you appreciate beautiful architecture then this is the place for you. Unfortunately a few issues with our bottomless High Tea & we have done many in Melbourne. Firstly our reservation details didn't appear to have been acknowledged because we were asked if we were having prosecco to which we answered yes & we have booked bottomless. Then we waited quite a while for our first glass. Then asked if there were any dietary requirements to which we answered what we had been stated in the booking on line. The food was presented beautifully with lovely crockery however nothing outstanding in the savoury flavours and the scones were cold. We didn't feel we got value for the bottomless High Tea however have shared with friends perhaps if you want to go enjoy this part of Melbourne then just pay for the basic High Tea or simply pop in for tea, coffee & cake
