Coldon Homes built my home in Cowes and were happy to modify their standard two story design so that it met my needs and complimented and took advantage of the block. The home is cleverly designed and beautifully finished with expansive double glazed windows which make the home easy to heat in winter and cool in summer. There are extensive decks at the front and rear of the house. The team at Coldon (including the directors) were accessible, friendly, professional, and quick to deal with any issues that arose during the build. I spent almost two years researching builders on the island before I decided to go with Coldon, and I am very happy about the choice that I made. Coldon deliver what they promise.

Neil was fantastic with the plans and designs, nothing was a problem, Bill supervised and ensured exacting standards, Steve completed the handover and initial follow ups.
James and Dale have dealt with any subsequent queries quickly and efficiently.
I am fussy and like to know just what is going on and when, this wasn’t a problem for Coldon they met and exceeded every expectation that we had.

From the first interaction we had with coldon homes at their Sales Office in wonthaggi, we were highly impressed. Robert O’Neall, the Sales Consultant there took his time to work with us through all information, answering any questions and queries we had. Robert went above and beyond - nothing was too difficult. He was one of the key reasons we proceeded with Coldon homes.
From there we were assigned to, Dale Donohue, who was simply delightful and great to deal with.
Our Site Supervisor, Steve Hancock was thorough, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Obviously, the build can be the most stressful process of one’s life. It was our first-time building. Steve made this process easy as possible, always being on hand to answer any calls, promptly address any issues, and ensured things are done to our standards and specifications. His communication, availability and flexibility was outstanding.
Overall, I recommend building with Coldon homes. We had the most positive experience from the first moment and experienced professional, easy-going and understanding individuals from all employees all the way through. The value for what you get based on what you're paying is outstanding. I would not hesitate choosing Coldon homes again.

I’ve just moved into my house and am very happy with the outcome.
Coldon have been fantastic throughout the whole process. I made many changes to the initial plan and built on steep site- they adjusted for all of this.
Steve was always available and called me as needed for any updates/questions and decisions. The overall finish of the house is great- would definitely recommend.

The sales people were great. Though, I think the estimating department were to high on certain extras. When dealing with the project supervisor Travis, as well as James the project manager, all was good as there was" give and take" with items. So far the quality is very good and we have recommended Coldon Homes to two other families.

The sales advice was very helpful and that part of the process worked well. The design adjustments for modifications were also executed very well, mostly at reasonable cost. The company was also transparent in their dealings and setup costs at this stage, which is to be commended (as not all builders are).

The finished house design is good and the general quality of the build is also good (I would not go so far as to say excellent). However, the site clean at handover was poor - I understand leaving excess dirt and rocks as my responsibility but not excessive amounts of scrap building materials, nails and screws, etc. This was quite dissapointing and I'm still trying to clean it all up. There has been initial quality issues with several things requiring fixing but perhaps not more than would normally be expected on a new build, and the company has been responsive in fixing things promptly. The only particular exception to this was the builders plummer who did not respond to calls to fix a leaking connection on the kitchen tap. The site supervisor was helpful and prompt throughout the build and the progress of the build had minimal delays.

The only noteworthy issues were initially with the prebuild preparations, where I found the company unhelpful. The conmapny required me to take full responsibility for retaining walls (fair enough) and the removal of excess dirt from the site (not fair enough), However, these requirements were not made particularly clear nor was the company great in helping me through it. It required a lot of followup from me and I believe unnecessary delays getting going.

Once the build was underway it was pretty smooth sailing apart from the previously noted resevations. I think this is a trustworthy company, offering quite reasonable quality for the cost and I am overall please with the end result.

A professional crew who know what they're doing. Time, cost and quality targets were all met and I recommend Coldon enthusiastically.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Coldon when building our place. We were told the supervisor could be a bit gruff but he was a great builder. That was not our experience. Bill was great to deal with, returned calls promptly and was really focused on quality. The crew that worked on the house were similarly really accommodating and easy to deal with with. We would happily use them again.

Both Peter who went above and beyond to get my build started and Earl who pushed the build through for me were fantastic and I am very happy with my new home. Both of these guys are real assets to your company. Would gladly recommend Coldon to anyone looking to build a new home.

Coldon Homes is generally a great building company in the big scheme of things. They listened to my needs and what I wanted, albeit missing a few things, but they rectified most of those things during the build and after the build. They made sure my house was built to the timeline I asked it to be, which was before Christmas last year, and they would check in with me to let me know what was happening. I would say a few things need to change, the quality of some appliances (toilet and kitchen/laundry taps) needs to be looked at and maybe consider changing brands. Otherwise, a fantastic top quality home, they made sure my house was up to the 6 and half star standard such as insulation, proper heating, double glazed windows, etc. They did not try and dodge anything important, so a good builder.

They are very friendly from sales to supervisors, They are also very prompt to reply to any concerns that we had.

We built with Coldon and immediately fell in love with our adorable holiday home. The design, workmanship and finishing have all been exceptional quality and our beautiful house exceeds all our expectations. Great to deal with, great service and a great product. We highly recommend Coldon Homes.

Exterior nails fixing the cladding rusted substantially within four years of handover. Coldon homes came and viewed the rust and while agreeing that the nails were rusting (some worse than others), they would not accept any responsibility. They said that the house should be re painted within fours years of being built and properly painted. Even though anyone with any kind of knowledge of rust, knows that you can't fix the issue by painting over it. Coastal specialist? I don't think so.

The guy that I spoke to here is a shameless liar. He told me that they don't keep copies of their house plans from the 90's despite building hundreds of the types of house I was asking for plans for. In addition I spoke to another staff member, a lady on a previous occasion who advised me they did have the plan in storage. However, the lazy scumbag I spoke to claimed they didn't have it. Guess it's too much effort. If you are desperate enough to build through Coldon don't believe a word that comes out their mouths.
