Colac Visitor Information Centre reviews
7Beauty building for a VIC situated in the right spot to promote the local area and events. A shame they don't sell local products and Souvineer. As a former resident I would have liked something to bring home. I hope the residents of the area and businesses encourage Council to keep this facility open as it's often the first port of call for visitors. What to see and do? Apps can't and don't give the personal touch that a human being does.
Good location. Plenty of parking. Hd stopped in here to get some information to find that the visitors centre was closed and to discover thst they are only opened two days a week. Some information can be found on the wall outside.
Found the best experience of Cobden was the farewell sign after a shocking experience at the coffee shop. Small towns need to embrace city travellers not make them feel frightened and uncomfortable asking for a coffee. Intended looking around town but not made welcome in any way, shape or form. Hoping the rest of the population don't follow suit. Never again, and letting folks know.
Loved Colac but sadly info centre closed but enough directions on out side display had a lunch by the lake friendly locals only to happy to have a chat and verey proud of there town.
I found this Information Centre to be a wealth of information. The staff are extremely friendly, and suggested things which one would never find in any guidebooks, such as looking for Fruit bats in the local Botanical Gardens! I would highly recommend this Visitor Centre to anyone interested in exploring the local area. Many maps and brochures are freely available, and the staff will willingly take their time to explain everything to you
Great friendly staffs. Lots of cute stuffs in their gift shop. Worth stopping by for info before heading out to Great Ocean Rd.
