I strongly urge anyone wanting to use this company, to do their own due diligence - search the name of the director of Code HQ in the VBA Prosecution and Disciplinary register. Then search for this same person on Austlii.edu.au to see how many construction defect cases they have been involved with at VCAT as the registered building surveyor who signed them all off. And now you have the tools to make an informed decision to use this company or not.

These geniuses signed off on a residence which had over 100 issues not meeting Australian Building Standards. Even after this was pointed out (with reports) - chose to avoid action. Either incompetent or corrupt in favour of the builder.

The worst customer experience I’ve had in years right from the very first phone call. I honestly have no idea how these guys are in business. All I wanted was to book a consultation regarding future pool fencing and the process was so difficult and the staff were all so rude and unapologetic. Anika, one of the staff literally hung up on me when I calmly explained my frustrations with their processes.
Save yourself the heartache people and don’t use this company.

Builders beware:

Working with other reputable building surveyors I get reminded, permit after permit of how rubbish this surveyor is - I get regular flashbacks and wake up with nightmares from the experience I had with then called Nicholson wright.

I will elaborate

- anything basic design where a builder can specify, these clowns want an engineer to draw a plan

-amount if documents they want for a simple deck or pergola is ridiculous

- attachment of a whaling plate to house is not allowed instead demolish concrete path around the house and add 1 meter deep stumps. Costs get added to the project and headache after headache.

-very slow turnarounds - Inspectors that don’t show up on the day and won’t let you know either. They always say busy busy busy busy - that’s their excuse - if it’s end if there they say it’s end of year, if COVID is the case they’ll use Covid ect they are very clever with this.

Very inflexible - they have their own rules on top of the building standards. You always to guess if they will accept your design or not.

As a builder I would stay away - builders plz do not fall into a trap? There are many other good surveyors such as

Inform, zonne, just building surveyors and watershed

We missed our shotcrete booking because your inspector Dan didn’t bother to reply our texts and 50 phone calls

So disappointed and unhappy with the service. I have a swimming pool fence which needs to pass the regulation. I booked an initial inspection and got a report. Did all the works needed with a handyman and booked the final inspection.they sent a completely different inspector who gave me more things to do which is not on the report at all.so far I have paid total 380 + 150 for two inspections and also money for handyman and devices total over 1000 but no good outcome at all! So frustrated because I am close to the deadline.

Kevin is an absolutely outstanding employee. Even though your company could not help me with my issue, Kevin provided so much information and help to point me to where I need to go and to do. The fact the Kevin took the time to continue replying to me and help me on my issue was amazing and I was truly touched by the gesture.

It was a pleasure to deal with Nicholson Wright even during COVID difficult times.

I would recommend them to all our customers, as they are very reliable with issuing permits in accordance to engineering plans, and specifications. All inspections are done within the Building regulations, and if something is not done to standards it will not be passed. So all works are done to be "Spot On" with our company and always "Wright " with "Nicholson Wright".
