Simply outstanding! Food was just top notch. Perfection tbh. Frank was super nice from the time he picked up the call to the moment we paid the bill. Just outstanding service. The food is just to die for. Tastes like the good Sri Lankan Chinese in Sri Lanka. Amazing! Outstanding! Will definitely come again soon.

Yesterday we had been to the restaurant with our 10month old baby and 8yr old child. The lady staff with short hair was so rude, right at the entrance my older child was looking at the log book, this staff came and picked on her as if she is going to ruin the book and after sitting at the table, baby was playing with the spoon, she came up and said I will give you another spoon cos if you drop it I cannot come and pick it up cos I'm very busy and again when she came to take the order she told can you reduce the volume to the 10th month old baby. How ridiculous she could be. You need to understand its a baby, and at the end she saw baby had dropped some left over food on the floor, this lady was complaining to another lady staff about the mess.
Very unfriendly staff. Never going back.

Been here once a couple of years ago and remembered it as being good, so we decided to invite some friends and dine in again. It did not disappoint. Nice and authentic Malaysian food and nice portions too.

Coconut House has some of the best Malaysian cuisine in Melbourne. It's fresh, tasty and affordable, and we will continue to come back. Thank you Frank, Vivian and the team for your great service and hospitality.

I just came here pick up uber order on 3/11/2022 around 8pm. A guy asked me to bring a hot bag. First of all I have parked my car a bit far and I told him that I can’t bring it as I parked my car somewhere else outside and I said sorry for that. I have delivered more than 400 orders recently and no one complained about hot bag and rated uber driver badly for that. I care about about customer too and if you are too caring why don’t you stop delivering with food Apps and start deliver on your own. You shouldn’t have give me the food order, I would have cancelled that order and someone else would have picked it up.

Worst ever customer service experienced! Avoid if you are dinning with kids (3y/o and 18 mth old). They'll sweep food pieces from the floor in between meals. Even tell you not to step them as they've just mopped? ! Never experienced such poor service anywhere. Food was average. Nothing fantastic. Roti sold is put of frozen pack. Portion sizes were good. Sambal was $3 and it was nothing but salt.

I found this place in search of a last minute dinner! From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the service was quick, attentive and friendly. The Mee Goreng came out incredibly fast (like, super fast), hot and delicious, and well portioned. Priced reasonably for a dinner meal. And nice clean spacious venue. Thanks for the experience!

Don't be fooled by the menu photos. At $17.80 ($18.07 with card surcharge), this was the most expensive nasi lemak chicken curry I've ever had. Quality was quite poor. The peanuts, anchovies etc were laying in a pool of watery, bland curry sauce. Although the spacious dining area was almost empty, the curt waitress chose to seat me right next to the only other occupied table. Weird. An overall unpleasant experience.

Reply to the owner's response: No, the restaurant did not appear to be heavily booked. It was almost empty, and was still almost empty when I left. Sounds like a case of wishful thinking. Your condescending assertion that my table allocation somehow affects my taste perception does not alter the fact that this dish was expensive and unappetising, regardless of the amount of chili involved. You think my description is "pretty rich"? What are you trying to say? It doesn't even make sense and comes across as insulting. Looking at your responses to other negative reviews, you seem to think it is acceptable to simply blame the customer for your shortcomings while at the same time slyly attempting to use it as an opportunity for self-promotion. It's intriguing how there are so many gushing 5-star reviews.

Ordered takeway various dishes, all of which were lovely, clean fresh flavours. Reasonably priced and size portions, will definitely be ordering again.

We were once again left waiting for our food for 1.5 hours (which was suppose to be ready in 1 hour) - this is the second time. When we called, they haven’t even started cooking our order. The lady asked if I would like to pick it up myself if I want it quick. We ordered delivery for a reason. Their food is average, sometimes cooked well, sometimes not.

Really great food. I live this place. It is one of our regular take away or dine in. The food is consistently decadent. Do not die before eating the coconut butter chicken.

Execution of all dishes was excellent. No doubt this is very authentic. Perfectly cooked proteins and veg, balanced sauces and wide selection of food.

In a unique location. Staff are friendly, willing to explain what’s on the menu etc, and tentative. The environment is relaxed and you don’t feel like you’re being hurried out as like many other restaurants.

Will be back again.

I had a birthday dinner with my family today. The foods came out fast and delicious. Customer service was excellent and always with smile, definitely will be back again!

Food is always delicious and consistent. I'm vegan and onion free and they have a no problem attitude to catering for this, which I always appreciate.

First visit, won't be our last. Excellent menu selections. Food is very good quality. Service friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend if looking for quality Malaysian food.

Me and my daughter went to this restaurant on a Sunday recently for dinner at 5pm and for the first time. I wanted to thank a lady waitress, who led us to a table, for her terrific attitude - so unaccommodating. Since then, we've been cooking and dining at home.

We were going there to give them business, not to buy frustration. And she has since helped us save money and improve our culinary skills by cooking and dining at home.
