Club Mandalay reviews
80Course maintenance is non existent. Bunkers are not maintained and have 3 very different types of sand, making 3 different lies in the same bunker. The collars were replaced over 12 months ago and they still have not grown in, as the staff have not managed the new growth, which are now overgrown with weeds. This used to be an amazing course, but all it is now is full of disappointment and excuses. Peter Thompson would be rolling in his grave at what has become of this course. Mandalay management and Avid sports have a lot to answer for.
I do not recommend playing golf here.
Played here with a friend who was new to the sport and had never played here before, this used to be a great course for the north.
Was met with greens that looked like they hadn’t been cut in days, a voucher issue that couldn’t be resolved and to top it all off, our cart was struck by a stray ball on the course which broke the gps unit injuring my mate. Which I was then forced to pay 1700 dollars for. Zero care given to anything other than the damaged cart.
Mortified that the management here only cares about money and not the players on the course. Disgusting behaviour, I will actively avoid this course in the future and have advised my friends to avoid it too.
The course is well priced and maintained for the most part, but some areas on the fairway were patchy, resulting in rolling or bouncing into roughs, water hazards or bunkers to the side instead of staying on the fairway. The buggies also weren't calibrated well, so they would switch off and make you reverse when you weren't near a green or out of bounds area. It was a nice course and well priced, so I will return and I hope to see some improvements to update my review in the future to 5 stars.
Restaurant in the clubhouse was very welcoming and the food was great, pizza and wine deal on Friday
Very nice course but at this time of the year was very wet on fairways. Would be better in Spring to summer months.
The steak was poorly made and yet it took 30-40 minutes to be prepared and the service was terrible aside from the new girl from her work experience that was the only reason I stayed cause of how nice and understanding she was
If I could give less stars I would. Staff were rude, told us to hurry up and order because it was a lot of effort for the kitchen to cook for everyone at the table. Told my grandmother to sit down at her table and they would come and take the order, grandmother just wanted to order a drink so they told her to get up and go to the bar.
The menu was small and limited, they ran out of chips, brought kids meals out last, we ordered 4 pizzas and the bases were all burnt. Will never be back here.
There is so many great places to eat just up the road - The Grove, or Trackside, great atmosphere, great staff and great food.
Nice track. Enjoyed the round although it was a little slow at just over 5 hours for 18 holes I enjoyed the wildlife.
Moved into Mandalay estate in August 2022 and have not been able to get a meal due to supposed lack of staff. I know it's difficult getting staff but gee four months and counting!
Quality course. The wind can turn it into a beast. Huge difference between summer and winter conditions. For 2022 spring condition is excellent.
Great place to come for a few delicious drinks out looking the golf course. Delicious new menu. And the staff are allways professional and friendly
Course is in atrocious condition, looks like it doesn't get maintained anymore aside from greens and tees (which are average). Great layout but not worth your money in this condition. Weed/mud/water fairways, mossy bunkers. This is not golf.
Great place, with amazing food! I absolutely loved their food and the staff were so nice and kind. I was very satisfied with my dinner at Mandalay club house!
Genuine cow paddock. If the course management invested in drainage, that would be a good idea. We paid for a package that included carts and were presented with a course akin to a lake and no discounts offered.
The staff are wonderful, the food is good and the view from the dining room is great.
If only the manager would treat the staff with respect and not yell at them when they are talking to the customers and being friendly.
Mandalay is the best place to live with your family. I have lived at many other places but Mandalay is something different. Just imagine, Green Golf course all around the houses, Quite place, open wide roads.
Delicious food, friendly staff but seemed a little distracted and slow.
Had the Karrage Chicken Burger, was lovely.
Had a lovely morning tea with the ladies. Had a pot of green tea and a apple slice. The slice was really fresh. The staff were wonderful
Quality course. The wind can turn it into a beast. Huge difference between summer and winter conditions.
Great golf course and very well maintained. Easy drive down the Hume hwy from Melbourne. Very fair and forgiving golf course, nice and wide, stay on the fairways and avoid the bunkers. After a two year hiatus, spent a day with three of my best friends. Loved the gps features on the golf cart to track the distance to the flag and keeping score.
