Climbing Anchors Collingwood reviews
53 EDIT:
CA got in touch and solved my issue. Thankyou.
Have used this business in the years after this and have received great service and great products. Upping thus to 5 stars, well done team!
Great customer service. All of the team members were super friendly and helpful when I was buying my first pair of climbing shoes.
The staff there are really nice. However I wish they had a better stock/range of smaller sized shoes. I’m a size 35 and they don’t have any in my size.
I have been into CA a few times, and while their range has been good, the customer service has been a bit average. This time though was a different experience. I came in looking for a new pair of shoes for the gym and to check out a few options for a more performance shoe later. Harry provided knowledgeable advice and was more than happy for me to try on multiple shoes, even reminding me there was no pressure to buy. He did this while still meeting and greeting other customers, as well as chatting to my 14yo son. While I, slightly sadly or smartly, bought probably the cheapest shoes in the place for the gym, when the bank balance allows for the performance shoe purchase, I will definitely return.
Edit: 20/3/23 - So I went back to Climbing Anchors yesterday to buy some new shoes. Unfortunately the sales person had zero interest in helping me. After I told him what I was looking for, he begrudgingly proceeded to give me two options, stood around for a minute or two and then disappeared. I tried on both options, had a browse of the other shoes and decided to take the pair that seemed to fit OK. Though now I'm pretty sure I've ended up with a pair of climbing shoes that are now too small for me, and cannot be returned as I've already disposed of the box (my fault). The other two sales people were great, even though they were quite busy (I was listening to them dealing with other customers while waiting for the person I was dealing with to return - which he never did). Honestly, if I wasn't there to use a voucher, I probably would have left without buying anything. Worst experience I've had as a customer for a long time, with the only redeeming part of the whole experience being the super helpful & friendly lady who helped me check out.
**I understand this can't be replied to on this review so feel free to check your records from 19/3/23 and contact me via email if you would like to follow up. **
Original Review: The shop is very well stocked for such a small place, much better than the city stores. Tim was super helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Very impressed and I'll definitely be returning.
I recently visited Climbing Anchors and was extremely impressed with the selection of climbing gear on offer. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and were able to answer all of my questions.
I was impressed by the variety of gear available - there was something for climbers of all levels, and I was able to find everything that I needed. The selection of climbing shoes was particularly impressive, with lots of options to choose from.
In addition to shopping in store, I found the online ordering process to be seamless and easy. Overall, I had a great experience at Climbing Anchors and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of climbing gear.
Thank you to the friendly staff at Climbing Anchors for their help and for making my shopping experience so enjoyable. I will definitely be returning in the future!
My daughter and I wanted to do bouldering together regularly after doing a few sessions in rental shoes. So we decided to invest in our own shoes. The young man at the store was very helpful and we tried lots of different brands and models to get one that fit us. As we were short of time, we left with some thinking to do on which ones we want. We came back a second time to purchase the shoes, my daughter was easy enough, but I still hadnt made up my mind yet but did end up buying a Butora Endeavour Moss. This time it was a young lady who helped us and she said to try at home on the weekend as it could be different feel when trying at the store for such a short time. Once again, my daughter was happy but for some reason, my toes were in pain during that evening at home. Came back the next day, had the young man from the first time serving me again. Told him my issues, I sized up on the Moss, more comfortable now but he suggested to try the Crimson which was narrow fit (low volume) but the same length as the wide fit could be too loose once broken in. I went with his suggestion. I tried out the shoes at my boulder gym that day and it was great. Will still need to break it in a little for more comfort but no pain. At no point in our visits, i felt we had to buy anything even though we had lots of shoes out from trying them. Both of them were very patient with us when we asking questions and trying the shoes.
One of the staff talked to us in a condescending way throughout the whole purchase experience and made us felt quite uncomfortable. And I felt the same last time I was here but didn’t bother to leave any comments. More training needed for some of the staff I’d say.
Great store for climbing enthusiasts, big range of equipment. It was a little busy when I was in there but the people in the store were great with taking care of the customers.
We've had a great experience at climbing anchors and highly recommend popping in if you are thinking of purchasing any gear. We probably spent 2-3 hours picking Tim's brains from shoes to ropes to Carabiners. He is the most knowledgeable legend I've ever met and went above and beyond to make sure no question was left unanswered. Thanks Tim for all your efforts!
It was a great shopping experience for my partner and I. As beginners we were feeling a bit nervous and lost but all the staff made us feel welcome and helped answer any questions we had and helped us pick out some a great gear to get us started
You don't get 150 five star reviews by accident - the team at Climbing Anchors is AMAZING! I'm a complete newbie to climbing and very aware I know nothing other than hire shoes were rubbish. So wanted to consider a pair of shoes. Was going to buy online but as said newbie, didn't know where to start. Rang up and got amazing help but realised it was worth the trip in. I wish I got the name of the guy who helped me, but can't speak highly enough of him. He pulled out a bunch of different shoes, encouraged me to take as long as I want, walk, climb the wall. At no point was I rushed or up-sold - he gave me different priced options for shoes and the positives of each. And lots of general information and feel good vibes. Very highly recommended. Thanks for the amazing service!
I love going there and buying my climbing and bouldering gear from there.
The staff are experienced climbers themselves and the gear is excellent.
The staff are polite and considerate and never push anything on you but just try to fit the best gear for you to your needs
Even gear ordered online comes in excellent condition and on time
Highly recommend this place.
Great store and amazing friendly staff with knowledgeable experience.they still went off their way to help me find something and when nothing worked gave me some advice on the la sportiva range which they don’t stock. Ended up getting a few other things instead and wouldn’t hesitate to come back as my first choice Climbing store.
Going in to gather some general climbing gear advise, and we were blown away by how generous Tim was with his time and level of expertise. Couldn't speak more highly of the overall service!
Purchasing my first climbing gear was daunting, partly because of the inherent risks in climbing, but also because I wasn't 100% sure what I needed before turning up. The staff on both occasions were really helpful, friendly and patient. They provided sound advice in the context of learning while simultaneously encouraging me to explore my own preferences. Highly recommended for all beginners.
It was a pleasure shopping here. I was a bit nervous and lost as a beginner - but the store sure helped me getting the most comfortable harness and climbing shoes. Very friendly and helpful staff. They answered my questions and addressed my concerns professionally. Got everything I need within 20 minutes.
Very helpful at finding the perfect shoe for me, even after I had struggled at other climbing stores. Extremely friendly staff!
Super helpful staff. Prices have gotten more competitive over time. My go-to store now for all climbing gear.
Bought my first pair of climbing shoes had no idea what I was doing got great advice and really friendly staff. Came back to get a chalk bag and recently ordered online. Super fast delivery amazing service couldn't fault them.
