Cliffhanger Climbing Gym

Overall good experience. It’s a great workout. But would be nice if the staff could spend some time with first timers. Instructions were given too quickly and then we were asked to explore on our own.

We had an amazing 13th bday celebration for my son. I have to commend the amazing staff at Cliffhangers and special shout out to Caroline, Robin who went over and beyond in ensuring our boys had a blast. The team were warm, friendly, funny and accomodating to the kids needs. The party hall was beautifully decorated and the kids had a blast. The venue was clean and well maintained. Thanks team for making the party a memorable event.

Great fun for all ages my 7yr old was a little scared to start but once he new he couldn't fall the sky was the limit

The reborn cliffhanger is smaller but with new holds and varied routes. Certainly worth your attention. Keep in mind that the gym rapidly becomes congested and there is a very real risk created by overlapping lead climbers.

I went to Cliffhanger to complete a lead climbing course and assessment and had a fantastic and smooth time. The staff were friendly and the course itself was presented well and gave me the skills I needed to pass a lead climbing assessment. The management also went above and beyond to help me understand the process and assist with any questions or requests.

It would get 5 stars but for the hire shoes being so uncomfortable at the toes despite going 2 sizes up. Only for people with pointy feet

Best climbing gym in Melbourne, staff and other climbers are always friendly, great atmosphere and climbing routes.

First indoor climbing I've been to for many years, and first time with my boys now that they are old enough (6 & 10).
It was great, they were so friendly and professional and the day pass is actually really good have breaks then it's not so full on and you can pace yourself. We will be definitely going back.

It's more than just climbing at Cliffhanger, it's a community it's about having fun and helping eachother. The wals are brand new with chalanges for almost all levels, if you're climbing 29's.not so much.
And the biggest plus they have free sparkling watter

Climbing at this gym was definitely a great experience. The members who visit are very friendly, and also, the staff working there (Sarah) definitely went above and beyond to make sure the customers were looked after. Hats off to the team

We love coming here and a lot has changed since the gym changed hands to a new owner. I don't know how they've done it, but there's no smell of sweat in this gym. Perhaps it's the newness of things, but the athmosphere is very pleasant. We also appreciate the free chilled & sparkling water - served in glass, not a paper cup.
The sustainability efforts introduced in the gym don't go unnoticed. There's a sink and proper towel by the entry where you can wash the chalk of your hands and shoes and equipment are sterilised in front of your eyes.
The only thing that's missing are auto-belay walls.

What a fantastic climbing gym, well set out routes, not too cramped with the top rope setups and the staff are super helpful. Will be back for sure!

Customer service is exemplary, coffee and mocha were great, care and training on the day were impeccable. Just wanted to specially thank Sarah who selflessly provided world-class support and customer service to our group. Thank you Cliffhanger Climbing Gym! We will be regulars from now on.

PS. The environment is super family-friendly and culturally diverse.

This is going to sweet when they get the place polished. For old users it's not to the same height or same number of climbs but it will still give you some decent challenges to work up to your next outdoor climb.

One of the best gyms in Melbourne, route setting is great, all the staff are so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is amazing! A perfect gym for climbers of all levels and ages!

Love our local gym! Fantastic walls, super-friendly community and great attention from their staff. Parking is super easy so there's never time wasting trying to find a spot. Great for training and also to have an amazing day out with family and friends.
So happy it re-opened!

My son had his 9th bday party here and it was fantastics. The staff are great, kids had so much fun venue is nice and clean. Will definitely be back for sure

Brilliant!
Amazing staff who greet you by your name and are great with kids. They are great when training you, very thorough yet still fun. Climbing walls were great, plenty of variety! They have cold water and glasses available as well as locker holes to store your things. They are also fine if you need to duck out to the cafe to get some lunch.
Climbing is roughly $25 per person including hire. If you are only belaying/supporting then it's $5 entry including harness hire.
Cafe outside is also good value so no need to bring snacks. Plenty of parking.
Highly recommended!

Excellent climbing gym! The new Walltopia walls are brilliant, and the route setting is ace. The staff were still getting into the swing of things after only being open again for a week, but they were all friendly and helpful.

I started climbing at Cliffhanger way back in 2007. And I continuously climbing there till 2017 and it became a regular feature of my life.
Some of my best friendships were forged there along with the memories that we made.
So to say that I was sad when it closed indefinitely during the recent plague would be an understatement.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going there again after nearly 4 years of hiatus. It was as much fun as I remember it, if not more. The walls and climbs are fresh and exciting. The whole space is a fresh new feel to it and I love it. And it's not even fully done yet.

The staff are friendly, informative and welcoming and cater to both newcomers and experienced climbers alike.

I cant wait to make more memories there.
