City River Cruises

Very disappointing experience. A young member of our group [who was intoxicated but certainly not out of control] was taken aside at the end of our cocktail cruise and confronted with making an on the spot $300 cash payment to be made for “breaking a table” during the cruise. The table in question was an old Bunnings table and would have been lucky to be worth any more than $100. There was no consultation with senior members of our group who had organised the cruise; in the minimum we would have appreciated the opportunity to inspect any apparent damage and had a quote provided for any repairs required. Instead it was done on the sly and it was very poor form and opportunistic to have carried it out in that manner.

We issued Yarra River Cruises a letter outlining our grievances several weeks ago and had no response, or apology, or refund of the $300 taken from our team member. We have given sufficient time for right to reply but with no response we are now posting a public review. They took advantage of an inebriated individual, provided no proof of material damage, did not make this known to anyone else in our group at the time, with no explanation, no quotation, and no refund as requested; it was handled badly and dishonestly. We can only speculate as to how often this company takes advantage of others in the same manner and judging by other reviews, dishonesty and manipulation runs thickly throughout. Approach with caution.

The cruise was wonderful, lots of interesting facts with the odd joke thrown in by our captain! The boat we were on was a little rough around the edges, but that's just cosmetic nitpicking

Booked our river cruise through Klook. It was a seamless transition to get our tickets. The whole boat ride was about an hour, passing through the Yarra river, and enjoyed the panoramic view of the city skyline, along with the commentary by the captain of the boat. Commentary was very funny which made the whole cruise experience even more enjoyable. They had some drinks service as well.
There is an open deck at the trunk of the boat to fully enjoy the 360 view of Melbourne city.

The crew was so lovely and happy! They had great energy and the boat itself was clean and had an all round amazing atmosphere. The drinks were flowing the whole time and there was always breathtaking views of the city. Priced well too, well worth the money. 100% recommend this river cruise for a fun fun night!

We came from out of town for a dinner cruise. We where refused entry because they over booked. If you planning to travel for this I would not bother taking the risk and spending the money to travel for this. They could of just sent a email informing us they was no more space. We are very disappointed with this service

Great quick trip down to the port and back. The captains commentary on the downstream leg was fantastic. We did the 1hr trip. Should have done the 2 hr one but we didn’t have the time.

Not a must do. Cruise was old from the inside. Not much sceneries to watch as most of them are covered by trees on both sides.

We booked up river and down river cruises. Tbh the upriver cruise, apart from going past the sports stadiums was a bit of a waste of time. The down river cruise was much more interesting. Enjoyed the commentary. Boat was quite comfortable with free teas and coffees thrown in.

Beautiful Yarra River, both sides lights and buildings are wonderful! I had great night on the boat with my friends.

Such a lovely way to see Melbourne. Informative friendly and knowledgeable crew. Great value!

Good selection of nibbles. A selection of wines and craft beers I only drink spirits so was let down by that fact only, staff were very polite and had the flow of drinks constantly ready. There is something about just meandering along a river waving to other boaties etc is relaxing

I booked bottomless cocktails and was expecting some food to be served as well. This should have been explicitly mentioned in the package that there will be no food, or you should being your own food. The only thing they had was pack of pringles for which i had to pay extra.
Beware before you book. It was two hours of stuck in place from where you cant leave without food and only booze. This is not responsible serving of alcohol.

We had a company event on a cruise boat. Con has been very helpful and responsive in providing information about the cruise. The floor staff was attentive throughout the entire cruise. They also helped us to take some group photos. We had a great experience and time. I highly recommend Yarra River Cruises for social event. Thank you Con, Shelley & team.

Aggressive Asian woman came off this company boat today in southbank and I asked her a question about the tour and time and she got really aggressive.

It is a good way to spend the night around the Yarra river to see the wonderful sights under the Good Weather. There were not enough cold drinks to offer while we were ending the cruise. Very nice customer service though.

Very nice ride. The captain was narrating the histories of the things around the route. On the way back, he let some of the kids handle the boat. In sure that made their day!

Interesting experience. Boat captain kept us entertained and the mate was helpful. Boat interior had a musty smell.

Had a ball, I want to do it again.

I flew in from the states for 1 day and only had a small window to see Melbourne from the river. Con went the extra mile and communicated perfectly through email even before I arrived in Melbourne. Jeff was our captain and spent extra time giving me all the information I needed to get the most of of my visit, not just the boat tour. Everything went perfectly thanks to Con and Jeff. Well done Yarra River Cruises! I’d highly recommend!
