City of Geelong Bowls Club

We were celebrating a significant milestone in the function marquee. The food took quite a while to arrive but the meals were lovely and a very good serving.

Bad service and food tonight, my Japanese pancake undercooked and granddaughter's crumbed chicken overcooked. Waited for order to be taken and eventually, after at least 30 minutes, went up to the counter to order only to be told someone was coming to take the order. Asked for additional sauce which was forgotten about and tried numerous times to yet again get someone to serve. Another customer alerted the waitress to me and we eventually received it. Paid the bill at the end of the meal with no thankyou from the waitress and no question as to whether I wanted a receipt.

Surf & turf needed sauce for dipping rather than over everything. Caused soggy chips & everything tasted of the sauce.

I belong to Chirpy plus, a friendship group for over 50's. We regularly eat in their Pekish Bistro & sometimes play a few ends of Barefoot Bowls. The staff in both areas are very helpful. The Bistro food is always delicious & well priced. The car park is large & is only a 5 minute drive from the CBD.

Went there mothers day lunch at Peckish, after visiting cemetery. There was a very good crowd there and working from set menu of probably a dozen choices of mains and five desserts. My sister and I were looked after by friendly wait and bar staff and enjoyed a beautiful meal for the seniors price of just $35/head.

Service was fantastic. Food was amazing. Menu is really good. Not overloaded with way too many choices. Still a good variety though. Nice big meals. Prices are very good.
If you've never been then give it a try. Would highly recommend

I attended the City of Geelong Bowls Club with my partner to meet friends and enjoy dinner recently

We all agreed that the atmosphere was welcoming (no loud music) the food delicious and the staff were most friendly
Well done we will certainly return as our evening was most enjoyable

Clean and lovely staff, however my meal was horrific! I was so looking forward to the old fashioned corned beef with mustard sauce, beans and mash that I ordered but the lukewarm mash and beans and the meat was disgusting with the smallest amount of mustard sauce. The one good thing was the sticky date pudding even if it was out of a packet at least the sauce was plentiful and tasteful

Hard to find but worth it when you do. Shares Geelong Golf Club car park. Pekish is in the City of Geelong Bowls Club. Behind the new big (yellow) leisure centre.

Nice place with everything you need to lawn bowl.
The food at bistro is great and huge serving size.

This place is the worst place I have ever ordered food from don't waste your money way to expensive for the worst food in Geelong

Good size meals, I had the seniors serve of calamari. Very tasty and very tender $18.00 there were 10 of us and everyone happy. Staff were also lovely.

Our group had the best time! The waitress and manager were very warm and friendly, the food was delicious, and it was relaxing just being there. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back.

Best service and Parma ever and I am over 60 so I know something about it! Well done to Skye and faith

Tuesday night is Parma night and I hope you are peckish cos they are monsters. Staff are fast and efficient. You never wait to long for anything.

We've been there before for lunch, and had a pleasant experience.
Today was different, though. It was quite crowded, which would be expected for this time of year. A few large groups which would have been booked.
Took an hour to get our meals. One meal was delivered in reasonable time, but that was consumed well before the other nine meals came. The excuse was they were very busy. Solution: Heavy bookings mean more staff needed. I asked our waitress what the problem was, and she went to the kitchen to find out. I sat down again, and she never bothered to come over and let me know.
Two of the meals were quite small, with a large serve of rice, and a spoon of "beef stroganoff" on top. They got sent back and replaced with a much more substantial serve of a different looking meal - actually quite nice.
Another meal was supposed to be barramundi, but had only four small squares of maybe barramundi, and other meat - maybe chicken and/or pork.
A very disappointing experience compared to the first visit.
Never again.

Went to this place last night food was awful. Asked for cheese and garlic bread got garlic bread with no cheese and no explanation asked why when waitress returned she said they did not have any cheese. Charged the dearer price for it. Had to query it after we had paid. Got turkey breast that was cut into thick hunks that were stringy and few tiny vegetables placed hiding underneath and few rock hard beans that were inedable. Not the same meal that I had had before with peas and very expensive nearly$28-00. Took some off price when I said meal was awful. Charged my sister for gravy she did not order $1-90 had to tell them when checked price after had paid. Very few chips on son's meal that were hiding under chicken schnitzel and few on side of plate that are overcooked as was also previously when we went. Sister told her schnitzel was same price as one that comes with extras on top but when checked menu at home it was priced cheaper. Schnitzel came with cheese on top yet told no cheese for the garlic cheese bread we ordered that's strange must have found some. WONT BE BACK EVER AGAIN unless I want to go away hungry and very dissapointed.

Surprisingly good food. Though it was gonna be your standard RSL fare, I was pleasantly surprised.

This was a fantastic experience it was really fun. I ordered the roasted gnocchi it was delicious.
The large room made the atmosphere great and being a part of a large group it wasn't too noisy and we could hear each other talk.
