Cinnabar Bakery reviews
28 Purchased 3 pies and 2 drinks just before 3: 00 PM.
Lady was sweeping floor at door when arrived, pies in warmer with labels on front - we ordered pies that had stock behind labels she told us that wrong told which actually there as closing soon (in 1 hour).
Went to eat at table outside she packing up said can't use, asked if could eat inside she said no they closing the 'dining area' - doesn't take an hour to wipe down 1 table.
We had to eat the mince pies sitting on a bench in street, awkward and messy.
Pies been in warmer too long dry and hard to eat, chargef full price despite she saying trying to get rid of.
Rude service, pies not that good and not fresh.
Portarlington Bakery same day friendly quick service happy to have customers sit down - completely different.
This bakery if don't want to stay open until 4: 00 as per sign close at 3: 00 and throw out remaining stock, then staff might have a better attitude.
Food is good. However due to the service I can not see myself returning.
From a glance at other reviews it appears I am not the only one with this opinion.
Chunky pie was chunky. Was all I was asking for. You like a pie? Try one and tell me I'm wrong ;-)
Visited today and can say the ladies were wonderfull as were the pies and other goodies we bought, great place to go if your hungry
The customer service from one particular staff member working on Saturday 12th August was enough to never come back here again. Just rude and unwelcoming. Shame on you.
Great pies. Got the sweet chili sausage roll as well and I HIGHLY recommend that. Great little bakery and friendly staff.
Just had a coffee & cake, should have gone somewhere else. Coffee super weak and service even worse.
Just bought a lamington and it is revolting. The cake is burnt, so you can't even taste the chocolate and pretty much stale. Will return it too them this week.
Really good treats and baked products. Great coffee, the owner is a ripping fella. Recommend going here.
I've read some miserable low star reviews regarding service at this bakery - not my experience. Regardless, the reason for shopping here is the food! The pies are the best.not only in this region but the best I've had in years. They don't have ridiculous amounts of pastry and instead have heaps of meaty filling - rare in this day age. So, I'd highly recommend this bakery for really yummy fare!
Little bakery doing really good pies.
The chunky pepper had heaps of meat, good size chunks. Nice flavour. Very rustic pies.
Been coming here for years despite less than satisfactory customer service as I find the pies and and cakes to be the best in the region. However now I’ve had enough. Staff are very rude and grumpy and I would rather support other local business who are respectful to the community:
Been going here for years purely for the food, and every time it reminds me why I need to find a new local bakery, the staff are abrupt and rude, 30c for a sauce, 1 of which didn’t even work. For years of having no eftpos I accepted the circumstances, but now they’ve got Eftpos facilities and it’s a $20 minimum. It’s makes me wonder how much tax evasion is happening here. The day another bakery opens in Drysdale, will be the day this business goes under.
Won't be going into that store again. Who sets a $20 minimum EFTPOS charge any more? There's plenty of other bakeries around the place.
Shocking bakery. Service is it worst. $6 for a half average pie and minimum $20 effpos. Wouldn't even go if it was the last bakery on earth
Sausage rolls %100 vanilla slice %20 very small and one corner missing otherwise would have been %100 all round.
Served by a really lovely person today although I had forgotten to put a mask on as I entered! Had a great skinny flat white and cinnamon donut. Definitely recommend this bakery and I will be back!
Food is always good, but the service is below par. $20 limit on EFTPOS and when I paid in cash the cashier gave me the wrong amount of change. I've been going there since I was a child but since the pandemic has started the service and policies have just fallen considerably.
It beggars belief that when we are in the middle of a Covid-19 Delta variant lockdown, with everyone else is doing their best to stop the spread of this wicked disease, this shop still insists on cash for purchases under $20!
Covid has hit many of us really hard, financially and personally, and we all have had to make sacrifices. We really enjoyed your food pre-Covid, but for the sake of everyone's safety do your bit and go contactless. You can pass on the fees, and most customers will be happy to pay the few extra cents for the peace of mind.
