Cica Chinese Take Away reviews
19 I ordered 4× chicken on Sticks $22 Honestly I couldn't even eat them, extremely fattie!
What a Rip off!
However the rice was
nice.
Not sure what happened but previous orders were really tasty but tonight
The special fried rice was very bland.
The Kung Pao chicken was completely missing any spice whatsover. It was precooked chicken pieces with onion, carrot and a sprinkling of peanuts but totally missing any spice whatsover.
Anyone who has had Kung Pao chicken would know that it should be spicy with chilli and Sichuan pepper corns, this is just a bland mix of precooked chicken and some vegetables.
Ordered through UberEats. Honey chicken showed a photo of a chicken fillet sliced into pieces, ended up with standard battered pieces. Crab soup had bits of shell and glutinous chunks throughout. General Tso's chicken - pieces were flavourless, sauce was average. Sausage was more rubbery than usual, didn't taste great. I was really hungry, and will usually force my way through average food. But I couldn't do it.
I had a craving for Fried Rice and tried this for dinner for the first time. Was super tasty, they’re generous on the pork pieces in this recipe, but no prawns. Pictured is the large size fried rice.
Lemon Chicken was nicely battered and came with a thickened lemon sauce, another winner. Finally the Beef and Vegetables which was beautifully cooked, with veggies being crunchy but cooked through. Also, a good mix of veggies.
Generous portion sizes means this amount of food could serve up to 4 people. We shared it between 2 and have plenty for lunch tomorrow. Will definitely be returning.
Would not go back here. The spring rolls tasted weird I think they had gone bad and they came with a small bag of lettuce wth
Ordered kung pao chicken and its disgusting, had to throw it away. It was mostly carrot and onion and barely spicy, lacks flavour.
WOW! THE BEST HONEY CHICKEN I'VE EVER HAD. They actually make it from real chicken flesh and not from processed mince. I was over the moon when I discovered that this dish could be 10 times better than any other time. Sooooo daaaamn delicious. And the fried rice is amazing. The bacon in the fried rice really makes a great presentation in the dish.
Thank you so much cica. Best Chinese restaurant on carlisle street
Sorry but hot and sour soup isn't made up of leftovers, I had grissle and broccoli in mine, that is not traditional or satisfying, infact it looked and tasted terrible. The kung po was full of veggies no flavour, and with limited chicken, that also had tendons attached. 1/10 from me and that's only because they cut the overloaded veggies in a nice shape.
After eating take away from at least once a month since I moved to the area 18 months ago, last Friday's made me feel very unwell. For 5 days. I mean I felt sick in the stomach and the pain very uncomfortable. I like to support local but I also like tell it how I see/feel it.
Very disappointing. We ordered spring rolls, chicken wings, dim sims, chicken sar hor, and sweet and sour pork. The pork was average, but the rest was not good at all. Both chicken dishes and the spring rolls were bland and tasteless, the dim sims tasted off and smelled bad. Will go back to places we know and love
I’ve eaten in a lot of Chinese restaurants in my time the food is really good, desert is beautiful. Is a favourite of mine for the last 8 years
I have ordered from here often and always the fried rice. Normally I would have rated a 5 but tonight no shrimps at all so sad
Our first time ordering from here. The owner called as I didn’t order any rice. I missed the call and the driver showed up with rice! Said they didn’t want me to eat without any rice. So nice! Above and beyond service. Will definitely order again.
Only been here once but was impressed, for a small place the food was tasty, and the service was good
Awesome place for a quick and delicious meal.friendly staff, great pricing and awesome range of food.
Honestly the best Honey Chicken you’ll ever get anywhere. I usually add a few more Sesame Seeds and Spring Onions for Garnish once I get home.absolutely delicious.other stuff on their menu is great too.highly recommended
Pretty good dishes, good staffs and service. And it's a real bargain for lunch dishes. But they often close at the unexpected time. Some time I have to come by latter in the evening. And don't order online. The owner is a little bit over aged to understand online order system.
Very casual, home style Chinese cafe. Tables or counter seating for maybe 15 or 20 people. Lunch and dinner specials are big hits with my friends. My go to, never fail me, choice is Singapore fried noodles. Cica's are always on point.
Very disappointed. Since when has Sweet & Sour Pork in batter been just the Pork in batter and the sauce?
