Church Street Medical Centre reviews
25Every doctor I have seen is so friendly, caring and knowledgeable. The reception staff are friendly and everything is always on time. Would highly recommend
Fantastic and caring doctors. Super helpful and responsive and concerned about all elements of health. I would not go elsewhere.
Although the doctor is very nice and helpful, I really don’t understand the logic that the receptionist told me - ‘you are not supposed to see a doctor when you have cold symptoms’. So if I don’t have symptoms, why do I need to see a doctor? Aren’t doctors in VIC/AU for treating patients?
Ninety percent of the time, my visit to the doctor or conversation with reception ends up in disappointment.
I called up to find out about a follow up of pathology tests results that I had done and was informed that the results came back and the doctor had signed them off as normal.
I asked for a copy of the results to be sent to me and on viewing the results, the units were lower than the reference.
I called back and asked if the doctor could review again because it didn’t seem right and that I wanted to know if I should keep taking the supplements and the response that I got back was that I needed to make an appointment.
I let the receptionist know that I wasn’t interested in booking an appointment because all I wanted to know if I should continue the pills or not, but she insisted that that is the policy and that if I had a question for the doctor I can just send an email.
*I should add that the receptionist rudely kept talking over me and did not seem to have any kind of empathy. Made me feel like I was speaking to a sales consultant and not a medical receptionist*
I received a call shortly after from the same receptionist saying that a text was sent to me a few days prior from another doctor who reviewed my results saying that my results have improved but I should still continue the supplements.
I let the receptionist know that I never received that text message and her response was “well it was sent”
This frustration and disappointment could have been avoided if the receptionist looked at my profile and saw the note about the text message and communicated this to me, as opposed to trying to get me in for another appointment. Also she did not take any interest in following up on why I didn’t receive the text message.
My message to the receptionist is that a bit of empathy and attention to detail goes a long way. My message to the practice manager and doctors, do not use texts to communicate with patients. The system clearly does not work.
Genuinely not sure how this clinic is listed as shared care with the RWH. The GPs at this clinic have no place dealing with pregnant women. My wife experienced nothing but incompetent handling of medical tests, crucial information not being passed on to the hospital and doctors who were both uncaring and downright abusive to their patients. Steer clear of this clinic - something has gone very wrong and the staff here do not care about their patients.
Rude reception staff who lie about you, doctors who don't care about you. Worst medical centre I have ever experienced.
This is a horrible clinic who care only for making money from appointments, complete with GPs who yell at you while in severe distress and in need of emergency care. Stay clear of this place!
I had my first medical appointment booked with church street medical today, I couldn't get a appointment after my work hours, so I booked in during and left work early to ensure I could get a spot as the matter was some what urgent. I waited 20 minutes and was still not seen which is fine as these do things happen, but then I saw the doctor I had booked with on health engine, come down to the waiting room and take up a woman who had just walked in to the clinic.
The receptionist then asked me if it would be okay if she went in before me, as she was on crutches and said that the doctor made the mistake of taking in her before me.
I asked how long the wait would be and she said 10 minutes. As i had made my day revolve around this appointment- I said that was okay. Another 15 minutes goes past and I am still sitting in the waiting room. Considering this is not a bulk billed clinic and that it was not at all busy, I'm highly regretful I made an appointment here and would advise you to look elsewhere if you are looking to be taken care of going to a new doctor for the first time.
Highly unprofessional, would not recommend.
I don't go to the Doctor very often, but when I do I go see Dr Jeannie Knapp. She is incredible. The entire team at Richmond Medical Centre are great.
The receptionist is extremely impatient and rude. I doubt you have a sense of empathy to patients who need you help. Quite a shame. 18/Aug/2020 if you really care about customer feedbacks, find out who the reception lady is on this day.
Overall very good practice. Appointments usually available if needed. Short waiting times. Sure, not bulk-billing, but at least it is worth it here.
This used to be a five for me - and if I could get an appointment that wasn't six days away it still would be. Gone are the days that the GP was the one you turned to for help on the day of illness. The new reception staff are not the same as the gorgeous, kind people I know. Unless there is an ability to predict illness in advance, forget it. Still love the GP I have gone to for past six years - just can't get an appointment with her now. She is/was the reason I stay (ed) with the medical centre. She's an incredible, understanding and kind GP.
Compassionate, knowledgeable, experienced GPs who are very clean, clear and thorough. The rooms are always in immaculate condition and the GPs keep their appointments on time without making you feel rushed. The GPs are really good and very popular so it's definitely worth booking online before you go.
Best GP i have ever been to. Everyone is lovely, reception staff, nurse & pathology nurse (both amazing with giving injections/ taking blood if you have a fear) & of course the doctors. Thuy B in particular is incredibly thorough and caring, I have now been seeing her for over 3 years!
A rare find. Hands down the most professional, friendly, knowledgable doctors, nurses and staff I have ever come across. So good in fact, I'm now willing to travel an hour (from my new home) just to keep the same level of service Church St Medical provide.
Dr Jeannie Knapp is an amazing doctor. She is compassionate, knowledgable, thorough and gives sound advice.
Dr. Elizabeth Crounch amazing. Well knowledged and smart. The staff are amazing too and collaborative.
I have been going to Church St for a year and a half and have seen many of the Drs there and have found them all to be very helpful, compassionate and friendly, in particular Dr Kerr & Dr Crouch. Cant recommend them enough.
This is my chosen local clinic and GP centre. It is excellent. They are kind and friendly and sensitive to your needs and issues and they will follow up on you if you indicate a preference or they see a need. The clinic is a family based practice.
Many of the staff have worked locally and together for years and they opened this clinic in response to a demand by their patients and clients. The excellent receptionists even came with them to this new practice. It is all encased in a lovely traditional Victorian building.
Most of the doctors are female however there are at least two males doctors, and you can book an appointment with whom ever you prefer. I usually go with whomever is free at a particular time, or the last doctor I consulted if I need a follow up, everyone I have ever consulted is excellent.
As an added bonus there is also a pathology nurse and collection point in the back yard outbuilding and it is ever so convenient for blood tests etc.
And a major positive.there is a tram stop immediately out the front gate. It is the last stop before Bridge road or the first stop going south after Bridge.
Highly recommended.
PS you can book an appointment online, and they also have an after hours phone link to doctors where you can consult or even book an after hours Home visit.
Drs and nurses are amazing here, and happily discuss any concerns with a friendly and positive approach.
