Chook Shop Charcoal Chicken

It's really great to get a family takeaway that's tastier, healthier and cheaper than KFC or MacDonald etc. Seriously, food the kids love, and where you will spend $50 to $60 at most fast food places to feed a family of four, here it's $40. It's really tasty chicken and souvlakis too.

Best tasting chook and chips! Ring ahead as they are always busy due to the chicken being so good!

Ordered 1/4 chicken, chips and salad. I asked for half potato salad and half greek salad. We dined in and I noticed they only put potato salad. They got my order wrong.

The chicken was dry, so badly. My partner said the same thing. We would have been happy to pay the price if the chicken was nice and tender.

They gave us fresh chips to try and cover up the old chicken.

The customer that came after us got fresh chicken because he was a regular there.

They are not interested in those who are from other suburbs/areas.

My partner and I always go to Huntingdale and we are definitely not coming back to this charcoal chicken shop.

Just because someone wanted to get rid of old waste they are losing out on money because we would have been regulars too.

Other than that, the service was decent. They wiped the table for us. But the chicken was close to being inedible so this is why I am giving 2 stars.

Two of us visited the Chook Shop Charcoal Chicken in Huntingdale on a Saturday afternoon for the first time. This is a solid charcoal chicken joint, with a wide range of gourmet salads on offer. The chicken is marinated and very tasty. Thank you so much to the Chook Shop. I will definitely be back again!

This place is the. Great food, great service I’d say best charcoal chicken in Melbourne. Their souvlaki is also exceptional.

Chips were hot and crispy and the chicken was tender and delicious. Hot, Crispy chips are a must and they delivered.

Love love love it's become a bit of a ritual for me and my boys on a Friday after school to grab some chips and gravy so good so our favourite and servings are huge.

This place is top deck for chicken chips salad. Gyros plate at 22$ is enough for two people so pretty good value too.

You probably think that your local chicken shop is the best because it’s close to you, but let go of your pride for a minute and forget all that.
Everything on this menu is done right.
If you’re looking for a quick on-the-go meal, try the chook shop roll (with extra tabouli).

Love this place…. Every time I go past Huntindale I have to stop. Always fresh, Salads are amazing with nice portion sizes & they never disappoint. Must try the souvlaki

I absolutely love this place. This is such a great place to get all things you'd expect from a Charcoal Chicken shop. I've order the Charcoal chicken, chips, coleslaw and gravy many times. More recently I've tried their schnitzel and last night I tried the lamb souvlaki.
As long as this place is open I will never go to a different charcoal chicken place.

Service was atrocious with bad attitude from owner, waiting period was 30-40 minutes for a souvlavi very slow indeed and hardly any meat in it, Not worth for the $15

I get take away from this shop at least twice a week. The food and service is always quality. Dare I say it, best souv in Melbourne. Tasty, fresh and always consistently amazing! Great value meal and quality!

Not one review is over exaggerating when they said this was the best charcoal chicken. I’ve come a few times before wanting to leave a review and and every time the quality of chicken, chips and salad are always fresh! You can tell they use good quality produce and tonight I even tried their home made baklava which was 10/10, better than the oakleigh cake shops the portions are always reasonable and the price is standard for what our current climate is in.my only negative comment would be this place is not open on a Sunday (or Monday) which is the laziest day no one in our family wants to cook and we’d prefer takeout but we understand everyone needs to rest
Didn’t get a chance to take a picture of our food as we inhaled it but HIGHLY recommend this place to any locals or anyone driving through.
