Chokolait reviews
95Beautiful Romantic hidden gem for the chocolate lovers. Prices are quite pricey but worth it once and a while. Service is excellent too.
Food was delicious. Found Chokolait via Groupon.will be back again now that I know about it.
The staff are very friendly, and there is a great range of chocolates to choose from. Standard hot chocolates are $10, with a choice of milk, dark, chocolate and cinnamon. All hot chocolates are made with real chocolate. I had a take away dark hot chocolate which was nice and creamy.
Tucked away in the Royal Arcade, this place serves the best hot chocolate in the city!
You will be greeted by the owners, Ross and Marianna Harvey, who are very patient and will help you with the order and recommendations.
We ordered the Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon ($8.50) and Origin Hot Chocolate 65% ($11). They were served at the right temperature and sprinkled with chocolate on top.
One sip, and you are in heaven!
I want to come back again and try their hotshot for pure chocolatey goodness or add chilli to my hot chocolate!
Must visit!
This beautiful little shop has been, by far, my favourite since I discovered them back in 2008. Friendly staff, indulgent drinks and the most relaxing atmosphere.
A must for locals and tourists, alike.
If I could rate this 6/5, I'd do so.
Not the easiest place to find and get to, but wow, the drinks, the food and the store look like art. The food and drink are as delicious as they look, many places I've been to have made their products look fancy only to be disappointed in the flavour and texture, appearance over substance or substance over appearance, THAT does NOT describe Chokolait, they have food and drinks that really do taste as amazing as they look.
The owners should be proud and this beautiful little Cafe should really be the star of the city, no contest, an absolute hidden gem in the city of Cafes. I had the brownies, dark hot chocolate and iced white chocolate, would be going there again and will go no where else in the city, absolutely no point after you've had the Chokolait experience.
Deliciously rich hot chocolate, with the option to choose from milk or dark chocolate. Very decadent.
Ultimate HEAVEN
THE BEST CHOCOLATE DESSERT EVER
Must come here to try the hot chocolate and pavlova
The staff are lovely. The sticky date pudding was very good.
The pavlova was nice but the portions are too large, making it a task to finish off, especially since the flavours are so straightforward. I feel like the strawberries were too tart as well, having them in compote or something would be good (or having fresh cherries instead, even).
Presentation is dated (sorry!).
Was a great found. Presentation was great. Hot chocolate could have been less sweeter. But very chic to sit and have something here.
Drinks were okay but man oh man this place was understaffed. Can’t blame the guy for sighing and grunting every time we asked for a glass of water or a menu.
Wow. Such great hot chocolate and service. Arrives late on Monday after flying in. Owner was happy to make me a hot chocolate at 5pm and the use of real chocolate was amazing. Apparently a different chocolate is used daily.
Old guy in chefs outfit ignored my requests for help and just looked at me, made a noise then went back to what he was doing, 3 times!
Was going to come back here, forget it with that attitude
Excellent quaint chocolate shop. The brownies, chocolate mud cake and strawberry smoothie is a must try!
Chokolait served rich, delectable chocolates and desserts. I’d been here a few times and every time it was a pleasant experience; the chocolate desserts were always thick, rich and creamy, and there were also some non-chocolate based desserts if you’d were after something lighter. Service was friendly, and it was usually pretty quiet and peaceful inside the cafe.
One of the best Hot Dark Chocolate drinks I ever had. Many other interesting options to eat & gift.
Lovely dark iced chocolate with a fancy edge around the glass top - makes for some fun times eating it off! Little bit hard to find in an arcade within an arcade and the atmosphere is a little dull but otherwise worth ducking into if time.
O-M-G best hot chocolate ever! 'The Origins', really recommended, and lovely staff.
Had the most amazing lava cake. Must visit atleast once. Try the delicious and filling chocolatey goodness. Valentine's day is approaching soon!
We had a chef's tasting platter ($42 for 2 people), which included 4 pieces of their most popular cakes, 2 scoops of ice cream, and 2 chocolate candies. The cakes were good, nothing extraordinary but they were good. I like the passionfruit cake best. The "gourmet" ice cream appears to be store-bought Connoisseur ice cream. Literally saw the chef scooped out of the Connoisseur tubes. Was thinking anl supposedly "artisanal" place like this would made their own ice cream but I guess using store-bought ice cream is the standard practice? Anw, I left with a full belly.
The place doesn't give off great vibe because of its location, surrounding shops, lighting, and decor. Good for a casual, quick bite but I wouldn't call it a dating place.
